After two nights in the bunkroom, I switched to the private room (once it became available), which was definitely worth it. The vibe during my staff was kind of "do your own thing", which was perfect. The outside areas were exactly what I needed - a ton of grass, some hammocks, etc. Location is great for Gunnison. We spent the few days walking around town, using computers at the local library, getting snacks at the supermarket, eating breakfast and dinner at local restaurants. Super walkable location. We opted to sit outside, at a table in the shade, with an umbrella - there's a really nice breeze that comes through here. On Saturdays they have a brunch menu vs. lunch menu (with limited lunch items and more breakfast type items/dishes with eggs), and I ordered the chicken caesar wrap, which comes with either slaw, or fries. It was generously portioned - the chicken was seasoned well, cooked perfectly, nice and juicy. Also plenty of lettuce, and just the right amount of dressing. The fries were thin, and crispy, which is just how I like them (they also had sour cream to dip them in!) My husband ordered the parfait, which was also very generously portioned, with fresh fruit, and candied nuts on top, which he really enjoyed. The front desk clerk was very friendly, the room was super clean, the wifi wasn't slow, the bed was comfy, their breakfast was good (waffles, sausage egg biscuits, yogurt, oatmeal, bagels, toast, danishes, muffins etc.) and the hot water in the shower stayed constant. My only complaint was the heater/air unit. It was either really cold or hot. But overall this wasn't a big deal. We liked it so much we decided to stay here again on our return drive from Telluride to Denver.

The manager was kind enough to do so for us, which they did not technically have to do per the reservation agreement and it being less than 24 hours. That tells me plenty about the leadership here. Much appreciated and I would book here again in the future for sure while traveling through if needed.

She handled a little on-river drama like a total pro and had us laughing the entire way down. And a huge shout-out to Michelle at Three Rivers Resort for being so incredibly helpful.
