We arrived around 7:30 PM, and Kiran at the desk (I'm so sorry if i spelled this wrong!) was so nice and friendly, even giving us recommendations of where to have dinner. Our room was conveniently located near the side door, enabling us to park right outside and carry in our heavy cooler and bags. The room was small, but comfortable, with a couch and coffee table to have our dinner on. The AC worked great, keeping us warm throughout the night at a perfect 71 degrees. Everything was clean and well kept, the showers water started out only lukewarm, but then got very hot, perfect after a full day on the slopes. Only about a five minute drive from Main Street, it was very easy for us to pick up some takeout and eat it in the room. Their DIRECTV has a ton of channels, although no streaming capabilities. Not many outlets to choose from in the room, but the bed was comfortable, and the pillows were too. We had a great stay here, it's exactly what we wanted and expected, the hot breakfast in the morning was a plus, with fresh pancakes, bagels, and egg patties, accompanied by cereal, yogurt, and coffee. Great for a quick meal before we went back to the mountain. Next time we are in crested Butte, we will be staying here again in Gunnison, not far away.

After two nights in the bunkroom, I switched to the private room (once it became available), which was definitely worth it. The vibe during my staff was kind of "do your own thing", which was perfect. The outside areas were exactly what I needed - a ton of grass, some hammocks, etc. Location is great for Gunnison. We spent the few days walking around town, using computers at the local library, getting snacks at the supermarket, eating breakfast and dinner at local restaurants. Super walkable location. Very quiet and safe. Would 1000000000% recommend to anyone in the area!

The front desk clerk was very friendly, the room was super clean, the wifi wasn't slow, the bed was comfy, their breakfast was good (waffles, sausage egg biscuits, yogurt, oatmeal, bagels, toast, danishes, muffins etc.) and the hot water in the shower stayed constant. My only complaint was the heater/air unit. It was either really cold or hot. But overall this wasn't a big deal. We liked it so much we decided to stay here again on our return drive from Telluride to Denver.

Rooms had a microwave and mini fridge. There were parking spots in front of your room ( I didn't get some of these amenities at the Grand Canyon Lodge at $300 per night!). The furniture have some wear and tear but I was happy with my stay. It's about an hour and a half from Black Canyon. Very quiet as it is set back from the road. Everyone at the reception desk was welcoming. It makes me rethink lodging options as covid subsides. It was nice to have reception assist and have rooms with a working layout. I totally forgot they had a hot tub, until the receptionist reminded me when hearing about my hike. It is in a hut with seating for six, so a bit intimate. I decided to jump in as it was empty. The rooms have a/c and portable heaters. I didn't see vents but they must have a central heating source. I turned on the portable before jumping into bed as the overnight dipped into the 20's.

The manager was kind enough to do so for us, which they did not technically have to do per the reservation agreement and it being less than 24 hours. That tells me plenty about the leadership here.
