First time here today- my previous barber shop suddenly closed for good. I like this barber shop a lot. There is a separate waiting area with plenty of chairs, and walk-ins are welcome (of course customers who made reservations get first service). They have five barber's chairs and they were all full, but the three of us who didn't have appointments got in, I would estimate, in around 20 minutes. From my observation the barbers all have mad skills. The gentleman who cut my hair, well, he was like Edward Scissorhands. I've never seen anyone with the skills and speed he displayed cutting my hair, with little snippets of hair flying all around us. It was truly amazing. None of that matters if I didn't like my cut, but it's in the top 2 or 3 I've ever had. It'd probably be #1, but I'm giving points for degree of difficulty to earlier cuts when I had a lot more hair, and it was often pretty long. So bottom line is Rocky's will be my new barber shop, hopefully for a long time. read more

During covid a regular hair cut was $20.00. I would give a 50 % tip, Most customers over tipped. You could get a senior discount. You could make an appointment. You received a hair cut and razor trim. Now A haircut is $30.00 + No senior discount. No razor trim. To book an appointment you need to get a code. There is a fee of TEN DOLLARS to make that "convince appointment." You have got to be kidding. The convince is for you , not the customer. More cost , less service. Not a good business plan. I asked for a mid-skin fade and when he was done it was left with about a 4 in the back and an uneven fade. Another person who had the same barber returned asking to get it fixed because the top of his head wasn't cut evenly. I saw some others leave with high quality cuts, but this was not it. read more

Came as a walk-in two hours before close. A couple of the barbers were sitting around as there was no one else waiting. They asked if I had an appointment and when I said "no" they started arguing about who was going to take me until finally one of the barbers begrudgingly gets out of his chair and motions me over. He was clearly put out about having to do the cut the entire time. Super unprofessional. His work, however, was excellent. Quality of experience has decreased tremendously over the past 3 years, while price per haircut has increased by $10. This appears to have begun shortly after Eddie took over the shop from Rocky. These days, Eddie is rarely in, and operates by appointment only. Online appointment booking software is unreliable and in some cases does not work at all. If you decide to instead walk in to get a cut from one of the other barbers, you will quickly find that they do not speak English. This makes conveying the cut and style you would like much harder. If Eddie were there he could translate, but alas. Rocky would be embarrassed to see the state of his life's work. I'd recommend going somewhere else. Update: Eddie is out on Wednesdays, Sundays, and at various points during the year when he vacations for months at a time. I disagree that the barbers present when Eddie is not speak English. Wow! What an excellent place to get a quality haircut from highly skilled and friendly barbers/stylists. I first came here with my son one month ago. My son for his first REAL haircut, and me looking to do something different with my hair. Rocky gave my son whom is 18 months a haircut and was very patient. He gave him a lollipop and engaged with him during the cut so he wasn't nervous. What a professional with passion! Eddy gave me my haircut. I showed him what I wanted and he wasn't sure it would come out how I intended. I told him I trusted him and to proceed. He exceeded my expectations. Went here after going to our usual place (Top Notch). I've gone 3 times (and the sign outside says "we accept walk-ins) and I've been turned away. I've had it with Top Notch....they've lost a good customer. I'm soooooooooo glad I tried Rocky's. Was the first time I sat in a chair to get my haircut and a guy (I believe his name is Tommy) offered me a brandy. VERY COOL and CUSTOMER ORIENTED!!!!!! I would give this place a ZERO STAR if I could. I walk in and the place is packed so I go to walk out The guy says, " you're next," so I stay. One person finishes, I get up and another person goes. It took a 9 hours to Milford, Connecticut during vacation to find a Barber shop that could do it like one of my home town favorites. My wife insisted that I get my haircut while on vacation. I was so hesitant but heard about Rocky's from the fact that family uses them in Connecticut. I recommend Rocky's if you're ever in Connecticut. Amir cut my hair and he was quick and to the point. I'm so disappointed that I have to even write this review. I'm pretty sure the barber I went to doesn't know anything about haircutting. I asked for a 2 as the shortest point of my fade and ended up with a number 1 all around and a tuft of hair on top. Also, the fact that I see all the barbers sharing guards while in the middle of haircuts is disgusting and I'm pretty sure it's against regulation. I've heard this shop is legendary in Milford but it's definitely a disappointment. Lastly I'm a licensed barber, so this was extra disappointing not to be able to observe someone do awesome work. read more
