First of all, the booking process was extremely easy and the website was very informative. I received a gift card last year for my birthday and with my chaotic schedule did not get to use it over the course of a whole year. They still accepted my gift card and thankfully so as I decided to go for some relaxation and skin preparation for my wedding. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was absolutely wonderful and relaxing. The woman at the front desk was extremely kind and answered any questions I had about anything. She was super sweet! She literally walked me backed explaining their process because it was my first time being there. Everything was clean and clozy and they have a waiting room outside the immaculate bathroom with multiple, private showers and very homey-feeling restrooms (it's a whole room with a door that fully closes - no stalls or anything of that nature) and even little benches in the bathroom so you can rest your belongings there. After changing into my luxurious soft robe and slippers (think croc material, good for cleaning) I waited in the relaxation room before being individually called by my esthetician/therapist. She walked me to my individual room, complete with a sink, massage table, another bench, plenty of hooks and closets for their supplies so they do not leave throughout the treatment, except to get you a glass of water at the end . She explained everything to me and inquired about my routine and skin type and kept politely checking to make sure I was comfortable throughout the experience. My therapist was Jada Lynne and although I selected "any therapist", I was very happy with her approach, kindness and informative knowledge that I will definitely select her on purpose next time. From the facial to the lower legs and feet treatment PLUSH arm and hand massage I felt EXTREMELY relaxed as I lead a busy lifestyle and that is sometimes hard for me, I was very thankful for the good vibes and peace she radiated. As she led me back to the relaxation room after the Tranquilty Signature Facial I felt so relaxed and honestly a little disoriented in a good way. I rarely treat myself to anything and this was just that, a real treat. I sat for a few minutes, drinking water and tea while soaking up the relaxation and did not feel rushed at all, by anyone at any time. Everyone was so nice and they have a beautiful selection of merchandise/skin care/natural little odds and ends in their lobby as well. Oh. My. That's how blissed out I feel after my visit today. I'm not new to Tranquility. I keep returning because the staff are friendly, the rooms are so beautifully and soothingly decorated, they serve White Lion tea and honey pearls in the lounge, and no one tries to force anything on you like services or products (but the little shop in the front does quietly entice with some lovely displays of products). I came today because I have been plagued with severe (and often quite painful) muscle tension in my neck, shoulders, back and chest and Lynda worked out every single kink in her firm Swedish massage. She even made my sensitive foot feel fantastic--and I don't usually like people touching my feet. Lynda was professional and respectful at all times, checking to see if pressure was too hard/painful when it seemed like it was, advising me to breathe deeply and into the spots where she applied acupressure. I left feeling pain free and wondering how those sixty minutes passed so quickly. All the therapists at Tranquility I've ever been to have been great, but Lynda is the best! My husband had a wonderful experience. Everything was really great, but I hesitate to give it five stars because it was so cold. - The serenity area where you wait before a service was cold (both my husband and I agreed on this) - They don't keep on the heated table for prenatal massages (which is of course to ensure mom and baby don't get too hot)... but I was so cold the entire time that I probably enjoyed 50% of what I would have normally. All that being said--the service otherwise was 5 stars. The staff are all super sweet and make you feel very comfortable. All in all, I'd still recommend to try out... but hopefully they'll get individual room heaters or turn up the heat a few notches in the winter. read more

Wow, Tranquility spa was fantastic. Went there for the first time and had a massage with Nick. First the inside was so peaceful but fun. The decorations were very eclectic, not your typical "spa" place but filled with whimsy. After checking in I was brought back to the locker room to change and store my things. I had heard from friends that the robes were really nice, but they didn't tell me they were heated beforehand. Nothing like putting on a toasty robe. Then I was brought into the waiting area, again very nice and comfy. Then Nick came and got me for the message. The room he brought me to was very warm and cozy, the bed was heated as well as the blankets. He gave me an awesome message, one I desperately needed. Afterwards he brought me back to the waiting area, brought me a glass of water and told me to take my time. I am looking forward to when I have time to go back. read more

I adore this place, so much so that I purchased the massage membership. Let me explain how they got me hooked. My friend and I decided to do a couples massage. Our first impression was a good one. Walking into the spa makes you feel like you are for sure going to pamper yourself. The atmosphere is serene, professional, clean relaxing. It smells so good in there. They have essential oils warming at hidden areas throughout the spa. The lobby is clean and organized and you are greeted promptly and tended to right away. For our couples massage we were given a tour as it was our first time. We went to the locker room which is clean and lovely. They assign you a locker and in it is a spa robe and a pair of slippers (they're hard rubber as they get cleaned after each person). In the locker on the robe is one piece of chocolate- a nice touch. After you leave the locker room, you go to the lounge which has soft comfy chairs and two small bistro type tables. There is lemon or cucumber water and tea. There is also nuts to snack on. The music is calming and the environment sets you up to do what you came to do which is relax. The massage herbalist retrieves you from that room and brings you to the massage room. For us if featured two tables that were made like beds with sheets and blankets and a bed warmer. The room is very clean and dimly lit with a salt lamp. They leave so that you can unrobe and get into the warmed bed, lying face down. Then the amazing massages begin. Each therapist is different but the same sentiment applies, they explain each step to you and then begin massaging. A few minutes in they ask how the pressure is and if it's good, the relaxation goes on uninterrupted for an hour. When it's over, they wait outside the room for you with a glass of cucumber water. When you have the membership, they offer you a steam shower after. I have entertained this and it was the perfect ending to the massage experience. You wait in the lounge while your massage therapist sets the steam shower for you including towels and washcloth. From start to finish I have always had an exceptional experience. If your experience isn't what you expected, speak up, they are there to please. I see Dana and she is fantastic. Her touch is nurturing and professional. She is the reason I purchased the membership. So i gave this place a try but was a bit disappointed went for a massage and facial, supposly the massage was for a hour but felt like they took us out in half and it wasn't thay great or relaxing ! I had a very nice massage with Angie today. Although she was extremely attentive and accommodating, I didn't like massage room because apparently it was next to the sauna and steam room. It gets very warm in there and she had to run a small fan or two through the massage which I found slightly annoying. Once again, Angie was apologetic & after awhile I Tuned it out. I found the relaxing waiting area nice except for a woman who was FaceTiming someone when she was sitting next to the "quiet" sign. I think there's needs to be a sign in the room that says no cell phones. read more

I had an hour long couples massage here today and truly enjoyed the environment and the atmosphere. We were happy with the service and I'll definitely be back. Everything was clean and they even offered locker rooms and robes/slip on shoes. There was only one massage listed as a couples massage and usually you can tell the masseuse how much pressure you want when you first meet them. It seemed a little strange that for $200 you could only receive light pressure/ "Swedish" massage, and were upcharged if you wanted anything else. I definitely want to try a facial but was a little disappointed as I like pretty deep tissue when I normally receive body work. Sleepy little Milford is starting to get all hip and progressive with the new wellness spa in town. Home for a few weeks from a decade of living in various metropoli, I decided to check out their "detox ritual bath" with volcanic mud and spirulina. I thought to myself, "Well that sounds nice. My liver needs all the help she can get, and mudbaths have long touted the chelating benefits of detox through the skin, easing the burden on your internal filtering organs." The nice lady on the phone explained to me there was a private hydrotherapy room and the space was truly beautiful and tranquil. The tub was actually built for couples so I could bring someone for the price of one bath. "Oo!" I thought. I told them to make the appointment for me, but I would likely bring someone along as I thought I could talk my boyfriend into a hippy dippy mud bath. We arrive for our appointment on the Saturday afternoon. The tiny waiting room is congested with ladies, and decorated by someone who obviously wanted to be artistic and new-agey but didn't quite know how to evoke "tranquility" within a space. Fung shui didn't seem to be their strong suit. They could have been color blind as well. The receptionist seemed confused when I told her I had an appointment and it took several repetitions of my statement of purpose before she was able to put together that there should have been a bath for me drawn somewhere in the bowels of that spa. They were utterly confused when they discovered it was to be a couples bath, even though they were the ones to suggest it. Finally we got it all straightened out and our kind and soft-stepped attendants took each of us to our respective locker rooms where we were provided with robes, slippers and lockers. The locker room was a little difficult to maneuver as it was cramped with 3 people in there; it wasn't small per se, but just designed poorly. The changing bench and locker room are right by the door. However, after being led to another waiting space with cucumber infused water and walking through the calm recesses of the spa, I wound down and began look forward to the bath. The two attendants took us to a room with candles, a pitcher of lemon water and a large bubbling tub. It was indeed beautiful. We were told that it looked shallow but it would be "alright". It was hot enough when we got in, but within 5 minutes it cooled down substantially and we discovered the reason for the shallow bath when we tried the faucet: they ran out of hot water. Not a great thing for a spa, and I wasn't looking forward to the shower I would need to get all the mud and spirulina off me. I mentioned this to the attendant who took me back to the locker room after our 20 minute bath and prepared a shower for me. She wasn't too concerned. The only thing that kept me from asking for my money back after the lukewarm shower was the glorious heated steam that began to fill the shower, opening my pores and warming me up! The shower turned into a mini steam room! Upon checkout, we learned that since there was a bath before us, "sometimes" that causes the hot water to run out. We also learned that they weren't too concerned about the half-filled tub, the lukewarm bath and shower, and that the attendant for the men's locker room apparently forgot to turn on the steam for my boyfriends' shower. No compensation was offered, even with the manager/owner standing right there. It bummed me out because I don't ever feel like spending money there again given the lackadaisical service. The place had potential, and I would have gone back even with the tacky decor had they made sure our experience was at the least, what we paid for. read more

This was my second positive experience here. I had a wonderful Swedish massage here today with Maria. The spa is clean and all the employees are considerate and calm. Maria introduced herself and escorted me to the "locker room" where I was able to lock my belongings in a locker that was stocked with a clean robe, flip flops, and a Lindt truffle. Mmm. I was greeted in the waiting area by Maria who showed me to the room and left for a few moments so I could disrobe and get comfy on the heated massage table. She checked to see if I was ready, reentered and got to work. The massage was heavenly. She had nice, fluid strokes and perfect pressure. I had a couple knots that she worked out, but didn't focus solely on them. She would work them, massage the areas around, and come back until they were unkinked. When it was over she quietly let me know she'd be outside the door when I was ready. She let me know I was welcome to water, tea, and a granola/nut assortment. There are also showers available if I felt the desire. I highly recommend Tranquility and plan on returning soon. read more

Best spa ever. Locally owned and operated by a lovely family and their services menu is expansive. I've never done the yoga or had their nail services (you aren't surprised are you) but I have had and will have countless massages and facials here. This place is classy with modern decor, relaxing mood music and always met with great service and quality massages from licensed massage therapists. I have had a few friends not be nearly as pleased with them as I have been, but this place easily trumps any local competition in my mind. I do wish they had a steam room or sauna but their steam showers and locker rooms are amazing. If you come I highly recommend getting a deep tissue massage and requesting Maria. This place is amazing..... It's a very clean, calming and professional atmosphere. You can tell that everyone here has good training and knows what they are doing. I have to say I was not impressed by the manicure that I had here. I purchased a Groupon, so it was an affordable experience, but I still wouldn't return. The manicurist was extremely rough, especially when filing the surface of my nails and trimming my cuticles. When I expressed this, she mentioned that I was "sensitive". One of my cuticles scabbed over later that day, so don't think my sensitivity was to blame. She did do a hand massage, which was nice. The polish looked ok, not the greatest. In general, this place is trying. You can tell that they've attempted to make the interior aesthetically pleasing, but it's not quite there. I'll be seeking a better alternative. read more

I had a half hour massage with Kylee and an hour rejuvenating facial with Alexis. They were both wonderful and so nice, making sure I was completely comfortable during my services.
