Adam B's review of the inside is pretty spot on. Looks like a mess. However, looks can be deceiving. Didn't buy any prepared food. I just got some snacks and a drink. They had everything I needed. If I'm ever back in this area I will certainly check out their egg sandwich. I wish I had look at the reviews before hand and planned my trip better so I could have tried it.

Hard to beat the double egg sandwich with bacon and cheese on a poppyseed hard roll. One of the better breakfast sandwiches I've had.

"No matter where I go I know where I came from…read more From the Bronx" (Jennifer Lopez) Trivia Time! Q: Name the only New York City borough that's part of the United States mainland? A: The Bronx! Besides Jennifer Lopez, the Bronx may be best known as the birthplace of Hip Hop music, Arthur Avenue Italian bakeries and grocery stores, Yankee Stadium and the NY Yankees. It sure looks like the owners of Oxford's ''The Bronx Deli" are Yankee fans, because their sandwich menu has over 20 choices named after Yankee stars or baseball in general, plus hundreds of NY Yankee photos on their wall. Some of the sandwich names are The Yogi with chicken and eggplant, The Babe with turkey and pepperoni, The O'Neill Deal with ham, sopressata, salami, and provolone, Bern Baby Burn with chicken, hot peppers and mozzarella, and the coolest one -Robbie Cano, Don't Ya Know with Roast Beef, American cheese and red peppers. We wanted to pick up something to have for dinner last night and decided on a Goodfella grinder ($10.99) with Eggplant, fresh mozzarella, roasted red peppers, oil and garlic, and a side of tortellini salad with peppers and sun dried tomatoes. The grinder was terrific -a big loaf of perfect Arthur Avenue bread, plenty of fresh eggplant and mozzarella slices, and nice marinated red pepper slices. (Pro Tip - the Goodfella doesn't include marinara sauce -if you want that order an Eggplant Parmesan sandwich). The tortellini salad was very good as well, plenty of pasta and tomatoes in a balsamic dressing. Our grinder and side totalled just $17 -not bad for a dinner for two. We dealt with two employees. The young lady who rang us up was a sweetheart -super nice and much more engaging than the young man who made our sandwich. As a former Bronxite myself, I loved visiting the Bronx Deli and checking out the photos on the wall. My favorite was an autographed picture of Yankee royalty taken at an Old Timers Day -Mickey Mantle, Whitey Ford, Joe DiMaggio, Yogi Berra and Casey Stengel. All are Hall of Famers. Go check out the Bronx Deli if you're either a lover of Italian food, a Yankee fan, or both.

Five stars forever for the homerun grinder. It's my favorite hot grinder of all time. That is all.read more

It is a cozy quaint place with a cute table in the back, a nice window-length counter and chairs in front to eat at. Fresh made soups and local Connecticut-made soda that I'd never heard of. Then came the menu from bfast to paninis. I could have chosen 6 things and all at fair prices. My sandwich was under $12. I got the Mediterranean turkey panini w hummus and roasted peppers which was incredibly fresh! Lettuce as crisp as iceberg but better. I think the best part was watching Kristin make my sandwich start to finish carefully, ending with getting a perfectly balanced Sammie that wasn't a mess or falling apart in my hands. Five star small business w parking right in downtown. Just what I love supporting. Thank you Relish Market and Deli!

The deli/restaurant was fairly large and spacious. They sell a variety of cold cuts, sandwiches, soups, salads, meal platters, baked goods and lots of other items. The staff were friendly and worked fast to keep the line moving. My friend ordered the roast beef hero that was jus okay to me. I would've preferred the pastrami. However, I ordered a small turkey chili with grated cheese on top (Ground Turkey, Kidney Beans, White Onion, and Jalapeños Simmered with Chili Powder and Other Secret Spices). I waited until I got home and slaughtered that chili. OMG, it was so flavorful and hearty. Of course, I was upset I didn't get a large. The chili came with some small crackers. I also purchased some macaroons and they were very yummy. I would definitely check this place out again and check out some other menu items.

Lunchtime so I ordered a corned beef on rye and French fries w brown gravy. Plus a Dr. Brown's diet cream soda. Service was nonpareil. No sooner does one sit before a dish of pickles and cole slaw appears. Everything else came quickly, too. The corned beef was piled high, so high I had to eat some with a fork. The only topping needed was Beaver deli mustard (no tomato or lettuce needed). Fries nice and crispy, gravy comforting. Service great, food as good as NYC delis, price in line w other delis / restaurants. 5 delicious stars. Who knows what the coin flip will be next time. Either way, you can't go wrong.
