Two guys run this . The older guy is Rocky and I don't know the other guys name. I've been going there for years and he never attempt a convo etc with me. Every day I go in there and order the same thing. Egg and cheese with pepper and ketchup. If questioned further I make sure there never salt . Health reasons. I've even had conversations with Ricky about salt. Fast forward to Sunday morning. I walk in and order. Same convo . Egg and cheese ? Yes with pepper and ketchup . I sit down on the bench in front of the register by the other guy and pay for my meal. He overcharged me again like always. I never said anything because the food was good and it was already cheap and I just wanted my sandwich so I can leave. This time the guy gets up and goes over by the grill. I look up at their tv monitors and I see him over by the grill. He has never gone over there on any previous business. It looked like he was adding seasoning but I couldn't see it that good. Mine was the C only sandwich in the grill. When it's done Rocky says ketchup salt pepper? I say no. Ketchup and pepper only. No salt . Salt is bad. I get my sandwich and get in my car. I get out on the road and I took a bite. Something different. Took another bite. Salt and an f- ton of it. I knew it was salt as my mouth dried out , I began getting a bad headache. I tossed the sandwich . I couldn't go back due to having to get to work so I called. Rocky answered and denied using salt. I told him that I didn't believe he used salt but I know that I saw the other guy add it to my food and I told him he lost a customer for putting health in jeopardy. I'll never. There again. I would give zero stars if i could for this. read more

Sandwich was badass both sandwiches were like a orgasm in your mouth glad to see Rocky running the place on his own because he's simply phenomenal and knows how to pack a sandwich and take care of his hungry customers. Trust me I will be back in for more sandwiches next time I will get a dozen and bring it home just to eat them all on the same day. If the place stays the way it is right now this business will make Seymour even greater. Thank you again much love to you Rocky keeping making these sandwiches boss. Also I love the new set up inside it's clean and neat. I'm also loving the new candy's and drinks added to the place it really changed around into something more awesome so nobody can really shit talk the place now it has improved a lot one also has to recognize when a business changes for the better. All I know if it keeps running the way it is with Rocky being the ships leader then you already know it's gonna be successful and better then you already know this place will go far just please keep it this way. read more

Adam B's review of the inside is pretty spot on. Looks like a mess. However, looks can be deceiving. Didn't buy any prepared food. I just got some snacks and a drink. They had everything I needed. If I'm ever back in this area I will certainly check out their egg sandwich. I wish I had look at the reviews before hand and planned my trip better so I could have tried it. read more

Love this place ! I live close by and it's amazing to be able to walk there and find something I need. Even if it's just a few coffee filters they'll sell ya some . So friendly and service is great and yes the bacon egg and cheese sandwhich is the best , they never let me down when it comes to any food! Inside and cute and organized. Been going there five years and it feels like home :) I recommend the lemon smoothie it's mostly like and icee texture but it's AMAZING read more

I've basically grown up with this place. PS: It's now "Rocky's Deli". The egg sandwiches are excellent and super cheap. Every morning before work I stop here to get my breakfast and enjoy them every time. They have a good amount of assorted pastries for very cheap prices. The deli sandwiches are HUGE! Seriously, split it in half and share or eat the other half later. The smoking issue that is mentioned in other reviews is no longer an issue as they are not smoking indoors anymore (to my knowledge). Anyways, not exactly a 5 star establishment, but the food and convenience make it every bit worth 4! read more

I agree with the other reviews given thus far. The crisp aroma of stale cigarettes does not impede ones enjoyment of a delicious egg sandwich. The eggs are magical they are definitely not from chickens as chicken eggs are not that delicious. Feel free to haggle down the price of your daily newspaper as the owners of this deli have devised a clever way to get the papers cheaper by inserting a quarter into a neighborhood newspaper box and removing the the entire stack to sell. Please disregard the NOT FOR INDIVIDUAL SALE labels on virtueally everything in the store, clearly B.J's wholesale did not realize Johns Deli had bigger plans for these items. This company is also green they recycle everything, even a 12 pack budlight box doubles as a hat when the owner john is out shoveling snow. I personally put my stamp of approval on this fine buisness....and I have very high standards. read more

John's Deli is a wonderful dive that is affectionately known as the "Valley Casino", because when you enter, it's full of old people smoking cigarettes and scratching lottery tickets. The place is not very clean but their egg sandwiches are amazing and cheap. I've had some of their deli sandwiches and they are decent. Customer service varies. John and Rocky (those can't be their real names) are friendly, pleasant and work very quickly to get everyone's order. The women (other than the older lady who refills coffee) are surly and do not work very efficiently. If you are into people watching, John's Deli is a must!!!! read more

Sort of an all-encompassing convenience store, John's Deli is good place to go if you need something at the last minute or forgot to grab something at the grocery store. I can't guarantee the freshness of the non-packaged foods, however. You couldn't pay me to buy something from their "deli." Also, the place always wreaks of cigarette smoke, so if you find that offensive, you might want to steer clear. That being said teenagers love this place because they have munchies galore. Chips, candy, ice cream, all sorts of soft drinks, etc. All reasonably priced, too. Many people love the freshly made bacon and egg sandwiches, and I do agree. For whatever reason, they are delicious. Just don't think too much about the prep. process. read more

Gotta be honest, stopped in early morning on my way by, walked in, looked at the store and mess of things all over the counter, turned around and walked out before ordering anything.......After reading some additional reviews I've decided it may be worth stopping again and trying the egg sandwich. I'm a super huge fan of this hole in the all kind of scary looking store. Is it really a deli? I'm not sure. They have the standard convenience foods, but what most people come here for is the Bacon, Egg, & Cheese sandwiches. Served on a hard roll, with perfectly cooked bacon (definitely cooked, crunch enough without being overdone) - You're in for a heavenly experience for less than $3 and you'll be in and out in about 2 minutes. read more

Breakfast sandwich was ok. Egg was fresh bacon and cheese just slapped on there not heated up. I went here a few times to try it out and give it a real chance. It's decently priced, but I realized this last time I went that the cook doesn't wear gloves. Handles money, on the phone, touching other things. Who knows what. But yeah. Hard to beat the double egg sandwich with bacon and cheese on a poppyseed hard roll. One of the better breakfast sandwiches I've had.

It's like walking into an ashtray. This place is truly disgusting. I would not buy a pack of gum from here. Had heard all about how good the egg sandwiches are but just could not bring myself to walk into the place further than I had already. This is a convenience store type deli It has an amazing amount of junk food they have fresh pastry in the morning which is VERY REASONABLY PRICED the coffee is cheap but it is also WATERY but then again most people like watery coffee . The key here is Theese people are NOT greedy everything is REASONABLY PRICED i actually got cheese crackers and a bannana for 80 cents-when the gas station charges 1.75 for the same cheese crackers(which i did not buy). This looks to be a family business and everybody works hard. they are polite and respectful to all the customers. *** there is no loud music or blaring TV**** Nice old fashioned atmosphere. a nice quick stop with good food at a fair price and a smile read more

i've only gotten bacon egg and cheese from this deli, but they are pretty good and pretty cheap. they will always put pepper on it though and i am not a fan. even sometimes when you ask them not to, they still will. read more
