Nice Deli! The Reuben Sandwich was Amazing!!! Very large portion - can easily be shared. The ambiance is typical deli look - the bright color reds and wood colors stand out. Service was quick and efficient. Check out was super easy up front.

It's my first time checking it out. I got stuck in traffic on route 15 so I decided to pull off saw the sign. The staff was super welcoming and friendly . They were able to provide recommendations for me. I ended up ordering the corn beef Reuben with some sweet potato fries. The location was nice and busy but not too busy where you couldn't find seating they had different varieties of foods upfront muffins, different pastries chips and even mustard and pickles to purchase. Corned beef Reuben was fantastic and nice and filling. The sweet potato fries were delicious.

If you're searching for that authentic, old-school Jewish deli experience without trekking into NYC, Katz's Deli Restaurant in Woodbridge is a masterclass in tradition. Here is why this spot remains a cornerstone of the Connecticut food scene. The Star of the Show: The "Elaine" Cut The absolute centerpiece of the menu is the Elaine cut of corned beef. For those who find standard deli meats a bit too lean or dry, the Elaine cut is a revelation. It is: * Perfectly Marbled: Expertly trimmed to retain just enough fat to keep the meat incredibly moist. * Melt-in-Your-Mouth: Steamed to a point where it practically falls apart under your fork. * Generously Portioned: They don't skimp; the sandwich arrives piled high, a true monument to deli meat. The Foundation: Perfect Rye A sandwich is only as good as its vessel, and Katz's seeded rye is the gold standard. It features a crust that offers a slight "snap" when you bite into it, while the center remains soft enough to soak up the juices from the corned beef without disintegrating. The caraway seeds add that essential, earthy punch that cuts through the richness of the meat. The "Accessories" (The Full Reuben Experience) While the meat stands alone, the accompaniments elevate it to a gourmet level. To get the full experience, you have to lean into the "accessories": * Swiss Cheese: Thick, nutty, and perfectly melted. * Russian Dressing: Tangy and creamy with just the right amount of zest. * Coleslaw: Crisp, fresh, and not overly drowned in mayo--it provides a vital crunch. * The Pickles: No visit is complete without their signature pickles, which provide the sharp acidity needed to cleanse the palate. In an era of disappearing hospitality, the staff at Katz's are refreshingly helpful and efficient. Whether you're a regular or a first-timer, there's a sense of "family" energy that makes the dining room feel warm. While deli prices have risen everywhere, Katz's offers genuine quality for what you pay. You aren't just paying for a sandwich; you're paying for premium cuts, house-made sides, and a portion size that usually guarantees a delicious lunch for the following day

So happy we found this amazing Deli. Service was top notch, food was exceptional and the restaurant was spotless. Took some pastrami home to make sandwiches the next day. I'll be back for sure!!

Breakfast at 5-star State Street Cafe in North Haven would be hard to top. Katz's, however, did just that. I've been here several times; for best friend, Stumbleweed, it was his maiden voyage. "Seat yourself", and we did. No sooner had our fannies hit the pleather than pickles, coleslaw, and water appeared. Stumbleweed chose a turkey on rye w tomato. I opted for CB on rye. We each had a Dr. Brown's diet cream (hey, when in Rome...). We also shared fries w gravy. Food came out licketty split. The fries were perfect...nice and hot and crispy on the outside. Gravy was rich. Stumbleweed raved about his sandwich, piled high, w the turkey having a smoky flavor. He even blasphemed his local Astoria NY deli, by saying Katz's was better. My CB was really lean and also Dagwood-sized. The mustard, Beaver, had a hint of horseradish, and had a bite to it, which I liked. Service was over the top. At times I felt that we were on a WWE show, as much as we were tagged teamed by multiple servers. Stumble also ordered a CB to go for his wife, The Breathtaking Maria. Debatable whether it made it home. 5 stars

Food: We ordered two different items and shared them. First was the Classic Fench Dip - grilled roast beef on a sub roll with au jus . We added provolone cheese. The meat did not have much flavor, and I did not enjoy the choice of roll. I thought the au jus could save it but sadly did not. I personally wouldn't order again. Second, we ordered the #8 Chesire - roast turkey & pastrami with cole slaw and Russian dressing. I believe we got it on Rye, but I'm not sure. This was delicious! I loved the cole slaw, which is usually a hit or miss. I would definitely order this again. Another item that stood out was the pickles! So delicious, cold, and crisp! The onion rings and fries were tasty as well . The atmosphere is awesome and the service was really good. Great vibes here, for sure. I will definitely be returning!

Had the special pastrami sandwich ! And it was solid , also had the soup of the day which was also solid . Definitely need to try more items for me to really get a good feel for the place . Service was good , and decoration is also good . Right off the highway so easy access

It was reasonably priced considering the quantity of food. Definitely enough left for sandwiches tomorrow.

Lunch was great today. We were teased by the owner that we were late for St. Patrick's Day, but we had boiled corned beef platter with carrots, potatoes, and cabbage. Everything was cooked perfectly and the service was fabulous. We totally love and appreciate the consistency and the quality that Katz's Deli and Restaurant provides.

Katz's Deli was next door to a Yelp event my daughter and I went to so we decided stop by. This was are first time eating at Katz's restaurant and my daughter was interested in trying the Corn Beef Sandwich. Upon entering the establishment, we were greeted and seated immediately. I ordered a Corn Beef Sandwich with Swiss Cheese. Complementary Cole Slaw and Pickles were served and the Cole Slaw and Pickles were delicious. The Corn Beef Sandwich in my opinion was a 3.5 out of five. The Corn Beef needed some more flavor but the meat was tender and cooked just right. I couldn't really get the flavor of the meat so for me it tasted more like a Grilled Cheese. The Rye Bread was perfectly toasted and it was good sandwich other than not getting the flavor from the meat. The customer service was great as are waitresses came to are table multiple times to come check on us. The customer service was great even at check out. Four stars for customer service. I will definitely be back again to try different items on the menu.

When I found out CT had Katz I was so happy!!! My Mom used to make matzo ball soup for the holidays. Mom passed five years ago and its rare to find places that make matzo ball soup let alone similar to her's. Katz's matzo ball soup did not disappoint! When we sat down a good size dish of coleslaw was brought to our table along with pickles. The coleslaw was excellent. The pickles were not the type I like. Big matzo ball with nicely chopped carrots, onions, and celery. The soup also included thin noodles just like my Mom's. I took a soup to go it was so good and next time I'll take two to go. As You can see by the pics both of our sandwiches the corned beef and brisket were stacked with meat. This was a good filling lunch!

Can tell you the last time I had good Jewish style deli food. Katz (not affiliated with the famous one in NYC) did not disappoint. The pastrami piled so high and better than any supermarket pastrami. Piled on good rye bread with sauerkraut. Oh so good. My wife had a smoked salmon on a toasted bagel. Just the right amount of smoke. No dine in deli experience is complete without the half sour pickles and coleslaw. Just as I remember. We were seated right away and the staff was very friendly and fast. Now that we know where this is, we'll be back for more classics.

Is this affiliated with the Katz's in NYC?

No t is not, and the food lately is poor as is the service and prices are crazy high, like $25 for a sandwich. A $50 lunch for 2 small sandwiches!!!! We waited 20 min to be waited on, 30 min to get our food and another 20 min. to get the check!

P&M Fine Foods is an Italian market, delicatessen and catering company that opened in Branford,…read moreConnecticut in 1985. It was founded by husband and wife Mario & Maria Ciccone. The Ciccone family has origins from Naples, Italy. The family-owned market specializes in fresh produce, freshly baked breads, prepared dishes, various Italian imports, and catering services. In 2009, the Ciccone family purchased the Orange Street Market in New Haven's East rock neighborhood and turned it into P&M's second location. A third location opened in Hamden in 2022, but it closed down the following year. In recent years, Mario & Maria have taken a step back and let their sons Bruno and Joseph "Pino" take over. Bruno handles business at the original Branford location while Pino runs things at the New Haven location. Pino also owns Enoteca Cassanova (a liquor store), which is right next to the New Haven location. My family and I just visited P&M Orange Street Market for the first time. This was our first visit to either of P&M's locations. We really liked the market which featured a lot of great fresh foods, prepared dishes, and other products. But the main reason we came to P&M was for their pizza! Beginning in 2024, P&M began hosting "Pizza on the Patio" every Wednesday from 4-8pm throughout the warmer months. Their pizza trailer parks in front of the storefront and slings up delicious wood-fired pies. The chalkboard menu changes up every week, depending on which ingredients are fresh and available. After looking over the menu, we ordered and shared a "Cheese Pizza", the "High Heat" (Margherita w/ cherry peppers & hot honey), and "The Charmer" (circular panini w/ burrata, mortadella, arugula, cherry tomatoes, topped w/ EVOO, balsamic glaze & crushed pistachios). Holy moly! This pizza was fantastic! Excellent sauce and just the right amount of char around the edges of the crust (which you don't always see with wood-fired pizza). All of the toppings tasted super fresh too! "The Charmer", which was essentially a panini-pizza hybrid, was very interesting. The friendly staff told us that it was the first time it was ever featured on the menu. We really enjoyed our experience at P&M Orange Street Market and hope to return for another pizza night soon!

They failed to accurately present the price of an item, I pointed this out at the counter to the entirely polite cashier. The cashier told me that an item (package of single serve Oatly packages marked to be sold together with a single expiration date on the package) was meant to be sold individually not as a package as it was marked, and he wasn't sure how much it was. He called the manager over. I point out that the highest priced Oatly was a little under $6 where they had packaged it and that their sign by the cashier clearly states that if an item rings up for a higher amount they will give the item for free up to $20. I was happy to pay the amount it was marked for or the amount of the highest listed Oatly. The manager, who is rarely in the store, told the cashier it was twice as much. I calmly told the cashier that I had been coming here for a decade (he knows me) and if this is the way he is going to do business I will not shop here for at least 3 months. Once I said I was discontinuing the business transaction, while the cashier remained a calm, normal human being, the manager began yelling, shoving his finger towards my chest, waiving his hands like a maniac, bitterly yelling at me for deciding not to shop there anymore. I respectfully told him, sir, please calm down, you made a business decision and I am also making a business decision not to shop here for at least three months given the false advertisement. The manager spiraled into a threatening tantrum and followed me out the store into the street. I would like the store owner's contact so I can report the incident. I do not tolerate threatening bullies when I trying to shop, especially at night.
