We started out looking to complete finish work on an ADU. We needed flooring, a shower enclosure, cabinets & countertops. We met with Mike the owner and he guided us through the process of selecting the materials. Do not use this company for anything other than to purchase basic tile. They do not do quality work. Their installation jobs are terrible. Recently we hired them to install a quartz countertop and quartz curb in the shower. Their installer damaged the shower curb, causing several large chips out of the edge of it. Rocport did have him come back but we had to call over the course of several days to get anyone to respond. The same installer came out to install the countertop and cut it too short, cut the sink and faucet holes crooked. Also, one of the install guys showed up with small children, didn't watch them and one of them jumped into our pool. My teenaged daughter had to jump in to get her out. When asked to send a supervisor to oversee the repair or replacement of the damaged countertop, Mike said our job wasn't big enough to justify his time. Because we no longer trusted his work we asked for our money back and he never bothered to respond. We're out $2000 plus additional money for someone else to demo they're shoddy work. read more

One day my husband and I were walking into Home Depot to look at flooring and spotted this shop, which happens to be next door. We decided to walk in to see what they had to offer. Initially we were just going to have our built in refrigerator taken out along with getting new floors installed. Well....Mike came out to measure everything and to give us pricing. He was so reasonable that we decided to get it all done: New Floors, cabinets, quartz countertops, and backsplash. They got it done in about 1.5 weeks and it looks great! I like that they are full service. No running out to buy your own materials, they bring it all to you and they also haul everything off. This was a shot in the dark when I contacted Mike at Rocport. From the moment I went into his place he was very responsive. Within less than a week the work was completed with no issues or hitches. I had all new quartz countertops installed. It was done in one day including all the plumbing hooked back up I did not want my existing backsplash replaced which I was nervous about because I didn't want it damaged in any way. And they reassured me they would take good care of it...and they did! I won't hesitate to use them again when I need my bathroom updated. I'm really glad I went with him. This company came recommended by family members who used them. They did a good job and no issues getting the job done there, so we thought - great we found a reliable company. Oh were we wrong! We are in process on a downstairs bathroom remodeling job. They are on day 16 of a job they told us would take "4-5 days max". They are 9 days over when they said they would be done including the "just in case" cushion and because they didn't complete the job and are so far beyond their deadline, we ended up having a party this weekend with 60 people and no bathroom downstairs. We have three days of no call - no show, several unreturned phone calls and yesterday they had the nerve to ask us for more money on the job beyond the initial payment. They haven't met any of the milestones they created for themselves i.e. payment upon completion of the vanity, payment upon completion of the shower etc... Workers show up, when they do show up, with no instructions from the project manager and I am getting calls about what they are supposed to do. I am not sure why we met with the project manager at all if I am directing the project and I have to explain what we want 5 seprate times. While the work they have completed so far seems to be OK, if I could start all over again, I would definitely choose someone else. Update - I drafted this review this morning before I knew that when I was told yesterday evening that the guy to install the shower door would be here to start work at nine and the guy to finish the vanity would be here "after 12" that meant the shower door guy wasn't going to show up at all and the guy to do the vanity would show up at 6 p.m. More of the same. While the floor product is awesome, the installation was horrible. The installers left scraps of flooring under the floor, causing cracks in the new flooring. It took MANY calls and them lying over and over about when they were coming to repair. When they finally showed up they actually damaged another plank and I still haven't been able to get them back to repair the damage they did well fixing the initial complaint. LIARS! read more

I went a few times and called back with several questions and he was always friendly and was able to help me with whatever questions I had. Terrible service they installed used wire to the fully renovated 20k kitchen. Unsafe UNSAFE USED WIRE INSTALED TO OUR NEW LIGHTS. We have had several contractor come out since using Rocport. Do not trust Mike he says he will fix the problem and then avoids all phone calls never returns calls. I just want a safe kitchen for 20k you would think that was possible. Very frustrated and disappointed. Very poor customer service. I'm looking to remodel my kitchen, laundry room and bathroom. I called this company, spoke to Jesse and scheduled an appointment for an in-home estimate. He scheduled me for the following Saturday at 11am. No one showed up at the scheduled time. I called to ask what happened and Jesse was not there so I spoke to someone else. This person told me I was no where on their calendar. This is my 3rd revision on the stars--up to 4 now as of February 2015. The more experience I get with residential remodeling, the better Rocport seems. Rocport is a mixed bag. I wasn't sure whether to give them a two or three star rating--I would go with 2.5, but that option isn't available. I'm revising my review again today, on December 3, 2014--just because as I've thought about the experience, I would probably give them a solid 3--not just a 2.5--maybe even a 3.5. That's because at the end of the day, they made everything work correctly. I am going for three star rating, because, at the end of the day, they fixed the problems they caused for the most part. Rocport installed new kitchen cabinets, granite counter tops, and new laminate flooring. Pros: 1. They did the work; 2. They fixed the problems they caused (mostly); 3. Our new kitchen and floors look really nice; 4. A very competitive reasonable price for the cabinets and the counter tops. (We may have overpaid for the floor--I'm not sure). 5. They were good about sticking to our budget other than unexpected extras, which, of course, cost extra. Cons: 1. Workers were not careful about protecting non-work areas from dust and debris (indeed, they caused slight damage to one of our floors, which made us decide on new flooring--which my wife wanted anyway--no harm no foul I guess); 2. Workers repeatedly showed up on the job without needed tools and supplies and then spent hours on trips to home depot, which is just a mile from our home; 3. Workers were careless and did work in stupid ways and then tried to conceal it and pretend it was done properly (but the management was perfect about sending someone out to correct the problems); 4. The job took much longer than expected/planned for. To be fair, part of the delay was because we found extensive dry rot in one of our walls. 5. Most of the workers speak very poor English at best and are hard to communicate with. 6. Workers attempted to overcharge us, but the manager fixed that problem (the worker claimed he installed 550 square feet of flooring, which seemed high--when the manager measure it, he found it was about 100 square feet less). The best example of the best and worst of Rocport is what happened in our powder room. The subfloor in the powder room was damaged from a leak under the toilet about 8 years ago. I fixed it myself and put tile over it and it worked great all those years. But the way I fixed it did not work correctly with the new laminate flooring that Rocport installed, so that the toilet flange could not be securely installed. Which meant the toilet could not be installed correctly. Instead of explaining the problem to me, the worker just installed it incorrectly. We basically had a loose toilet sitting on the floor over the drain. I discovered this a week or so after the work was done. I was angry and I think that was understandable and justified. So that was the worst of Rocport. But the best was this: Rocport sent out a different worker to fix the problem Rocport caused. And this worker also fixed the subfloor problem that I caused--and even though I offered to pay for the subfloor repair, because it was my fault--Rocport refused to charge me for it. There were numerous other similar problems, most of which I caught (I hope) because I am pretty handy myself. But if I knew nothing about construction, the problems may have gone undetected. . I think the bottom line is this: Rocport does reasonable quality work at reasonable prices. But you need to be smart enough to watch them and make sure they correct defective work. read more

Outside the store it has a sign "Complete kitchen in 3 days" . Took about 3 weeks. First day the cabinet installer (1 guy) was supposed to show up at 9am, he arrived at 1pm, took a 45 minutes lunch and when home at 5pm. Possible he could of been coming from another job, if so, would be good customer service to let us know. The rest of the the week the cabinet installer showed up 30-45 minutes late each day and worked slow. 1 man for a big project like this, not good, and can over work a person. One of the days on the 1st week he didn't show up at all, not even a phone call to let us know. When we thought the project was done, we found several defects including a chip in our cast iron sink they installed. We brought this up to Mike, he said they would be back week two to fix which they never came or called. We called them to ask what's going on, Mike said the guy was on another job site. Again, keeping us posted would have been appropriate. By that Saturday my husband spoke to Mike and had to get angry over the phone to get Mike over to our house and take a look. Mike agreed he will cover the sink if we can't get it warrantied for an exchange. Finally the worker came to do some repairs a week ago. So far so good, just needs a few mild hinge adjustments. The worst part is me sitting at home waiting for these guys and they don't show up or call to keep me posted. Total lack of communication and consideration of one's times. At the end of all the chaos, the kitchen does look very nice. The cost they offer is almost unbeatable, Mike did his best to keep us satisfied and the workers are friendly. read more
