Tommy, Rasul, and Ivan did an excellent job moving me out of a high rise apartment in downtown LA. Despite having some large furniture, they worked quickly and efficiently and everything went off without a hitch. The team was able to take apart a complicated bed frame and large bookshelf with ease and had no issue maneuvering it around the twists and turns of my new unit. They also came prepared with a fully stocked truck, which I appreciated. They had plenty of wardrobe boxes for my clothes and loose articles. It truly made moving simple. The entire move took under 6 hours for my one bedroom and office, including furniture disassembly and reassembly. These guys were lifesavers, and they helped us move during one of the worst heat waves we've experienced in LA. Really friendly, professional, respectful. No ego, no attitude, no macho crap, or up-charges. I was blown away with how efficiently they took apart several pieces of furniture, wrapped them, and got them loaded in lighting speed. In fact I still had a small amount of leftover packing to do and figured I would do it while they loaded but these guys were so fast the finished loading and helped me pack and remove shelves from the wall, take junk outside for city pick up, etc. We haven't unpacked yet but i don't see any busted up boxes I feel like they were very respectful with our things while still moving extremely fast. At the end even with the double drive time (mandatory if over a certain amount of miles to the destination) the final bill was much less than we expected so we made sure to give them a very well deserved nice tip. One last thing according to CA law you're entitled to a 10-minute break for every 4 hours you work. Going and using the bathroom for 2minutes while doing heavy labor in hot climate that requires you to drink lots of water is more than reasonable. So to the people that complained about them asking to use the bathroom shame on you- do you get crap for using the bathroom at your job? I doubt you would stand for that. tl;dr We LOVE our moving crew! Tommy, Russell and Ivan are the best movers we have ever had. We hope these guys can do every move for us for the rest of our lives, not joking. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Simple Moving had the best end to end process of all the 6 companies I looked at. Super easy to book, clear communication and the did the video walk through in literally less than 5 minutes vs the full 15-30 minutes everyone else took.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Quote was less expensive than all the others and ended up being incredibly accurate. Their estimate was the easiest to understand and shows up front any exceptions they may encounter on move day so there are no surprises. No complicated verbiage or hidden conditions. These guys are direct, straightforward and don't waste any time. Literally no muss no fuss. The move itself was the easiest one we have ever done even though it was the farthest (~2 hour drive) and we have more stuff than we've ever had. These guys are pros. We barely had to give any instruction and they went above and beyond to take care of everything. Throughout the day, Tommy would double check on things that seemed valuable/high value that we hadn't thought about and would advise if we should take it ourselves or what they would do to keep things as safe as possible. They didn't complain about our 4 flights of stairs (which we wouldn't fault them for honestly, our last movers rightfully did haha) and even kept offering to take our trash/throw away furniture out for us. The house was SPOTLESS and empty when we left, they even helped with clearing out our fridges. They arrived at our new house before we did and got started right away. They didn't even make a stop for food, these guys are machines! Again, barely needed any direction and of course asked about important things. All our boxes ended up in the right areas with enough specificity to make it easy to unpack. All furniture was assembled arranged in the right spots, exactly how I wanted it :) Nothing broken nor scuffed, which is amazing given how many heavy and fragile items we had. But our most favorite thing about this crew is their good vibes. This is one of the hardest and physically demanding jobs someone can have and even though they were all doing punishingly grueling (many of our items were easily 200-300 lbs) and nonstop arduous labor on the literally hottest day of the current LA heatwave, they made it feel like just 3 friends having a good time. All smiles, all laughs, all the time. We've never felt so comfortable with a group of movers as we did with these guys. They are a good hang! Working with Simple Company was smooth from start to finish. Most of our stuff was already packed, but we still had some loose items, so we were worried we might be charged for extra boxes. Thankfully, the team had their own boxes to store and move those items at no extra charge. One unexpected issue was an extra charge for a TV box. When I requested a quote, I specifically mentioned that our TV was large and asked whether they would provide a box. I was told, "Movers can bring the TV box. Please note, TV box is free to use during the move, or $70 if you like to keep it." However, when the movers arrived, I learned that our TV required a special box and there was an additional charge for it. This was not the movers' fault, and they were simply following the requirements for our particular TV, but I do wish that had been communicated more clearly when I requested the quote. Despite that unexpected charge, Tommy's team did an excellent job communicating and handling our belongings throughout the entire process. I also really appreciated how they handled all the little complications that came up, including parking, the unusual route to our apartment, and navigating the gates. They never complained or made us feel bad about any of it--they simply figured out a way to make it work and were reassuring throughout the entire move. We had an excellent experience with our moving crew: Artem, Kemel, Arthur, and lead mover Alexey K. Our move was especially challenging because there were lots of stairs and some of our extremely big sofas had to be moved from the 3rd floor to the 6th floor since the elevator was too small. The team handled everything professionally and efficiently. One of the most impressive parts was watching them use straps to safely lower our bed frame down to the first floor--they made a difficult task look easy. They came fully prepared with all the necessary moving supplies, including wardrobe boxes, and even provided protective materials for our delicate tiles, making sure everything was properly covered and protected. The movers did damage a bookshelf, failed to inform me and instead had covered it up with glue and black sharpie. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's quite disappointing to discover this after what I thought was a smooth move.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I did file a claim, however the company is sticking to their regulation on insurance that I contractually agreed to despite the circumstances. My feedback to the movers: inform the client no matter what, give them the autonomy to make decisions on how they want their items to be repaired as this sort of thing happens during a move.
