We stumbled upon Russel at the Arcadia shop who was instantly friendly, personable and extremely well versed in his products and their features - a great first impression and experience. We arranged an in-home measurement - Russel arrived on time and brought tons of great samples to choose from (my wife's favorite). We talked about practical matters (installation, remote controls, etc) and had fun talking about other interests we had in common, as if we were old friends. A day or so later he provided a detailed estimate that was right on the button for what we hoped to spend but also expected in terms of cost and value. Our project also included shutters - his recommendation was to repair and refurbish vs replace because our shutters were made of wood and were custom, and, he knew "the best guy in the Valley" who could do the job. This earned my respect because he passed up selling us new shutters (which he could have done for a profit) and instead saw the value in our existing shutters (value we could not see). He convinced us and that saved us potentially tens of thousands of dollars in our project (we had a quote from 5 yrs years prior to replace our shutters for $24k!!). Due to extenuating personal circumstances (a death in my family) we ended up going a different direction with our project, but we did use Russell's shutter repair recommendation, which was spot on and an excellent experience. I highly recommend Arcadia Blind & Shutter and of course, Russell, who knows his stuff, knows his business and was a joy to work with at every step along the way of our particular journey. Cindy was so helpful and able to re-string it quickly, so I would have it to take back up right away. Her location happened to be quite close and convenient for me. I was thrilled to be able to fix this 30 year old shade, as it matches 3 others in our living room. I am quite sure a new shade would have been much more expensive. I would not recommend Drapery Den AZ. It has now been MONTHS of me reaching out, trying to get a missing part for our automatic blinds. Simply a battery that is necessary for the blinds to operate properly. Communication and follow-through have been extremely disappointing. The consultant also never returned for a final inspection as promised. For the amount of money charged, I expected much better customer service and support after the sale. Unfortunately, once they were paid, resolving the issue no longer seemed to matter.

I've been reaching out since September of 2025 for a solution to this shade problem. I received an email response with a promise to reorder the shade and no response since. I would not recommend Drapery Den because they don't stand by their work, make promises they don't keep and don't care about their clients. Go elsewhere where they know how to source good products, understand the products they are selling and stand by their work.
