Greg, the owner, came out with his wife for the initial consultation, walked us through the different options, and helped us pick colors and styles that matched each room without ever making us feel pressured. The pricing was very reasonable, especially for motorized blinds, and the turnaround was excellent. Our blinds arrived in about two weeks, and installation couldn't have gone smoother. Greg was in and out in less than an hour, everything worked perfectly before he left, and there wasn't a single thing to clean up afterward. My toddler loves pressing the up and down button on her new blinds and loves the fact that she can see out the windows and watch our squirrels in the backyard now! Southwest Sun Screens was one of my first calls based on their strong reviews and excellent feedback. I knew the moment Ryan answered the phone that I was talking with someone who genuinely cared about his company and earning my business. Ryan answered all my questions and offered solutions and ideas based on his extensive experience. It was like talking with a trusted friend who is an expert in his field. He came to the house exactly when he said he would and we talked "everything screens and windows". He is super knowledgeable and friendly and was willing to share best practices and his best results so that our screens were exactly what we wanted. He measured multiple times to ensure everything was perfect and would fit tight. The doors that the screens are going into are custom, and therefore not exactly, perfectly straight and square, though you would never know by looking at them. He helped us decide on the fabric, the frame, the design and the clips to hold the screens in place, always guiding us using our happiness as his barometer, which I really appreciated. Ryan and his partner came back to do the install and arrived exactly when they said they would. The screens didn't quite fit, too tight (no good deed goes unpunished, right? He wanted them tight) and he was beyond apologetic and explained exactly what had happened. He said he felt bad and wanted to get it right for us, but that he would do whatever it takes to remake the screens without costing us an additional penny, and even said if we decided we didn't want them, he would understand. I truly wasn't upset about this at all, there will be glitches with everything, that's not the question, the question is "how does the company handle it?" Ryan couldn't have handled it better, again, keeping our happiness and satisfaction "top of mind." You just don't find this type of caring service very often. He remeasured several more times and we discussed exactly what he would modify to make it work for us. He returned precisely when he said he would, always texting to let me know he was on his way, with the new screens, got them all installed, even installed some weatherstripping I had purchased to shore up a small gap from the door not being 100% square.They look incredible. I couldn't ask for more in terms of quality, timeliness, conscientiousness, care and honesty. I highly recommend Southwest Sun Screens to anyone and everyone, even if you're just shopping around, call and speak with Ryan and he will make you feel like family. The good kind of family, not the "annoying relative on Thanksgiving" kind :-)

UPDATED Review: The…read moreteam reached out to me previously and offered to fix the issues. In our conversation, Rubi assured me that they will fix whatever is wrong with the project. I was hesitant because she said that one day would be enough to do it. When Gilbert arrived, he was by himself (unlike previously when he had an assistant) and said he would take care of the issues. I asked him if he can sand and stain the areas instead of painting in one day and he said it would take more than a day to do that. Given other circumstances, I really needed to reclaim the room that was being worked on and more than a couple of days of renos is something I couldn't do anymore. So I reached a compromise of him smoothing out some of the surfaces and painting instead of staining. Not what I wanted 100% but it is growing on me. I want to highlight that Rubi and Gilbert are genuinely nice people that would be willing to work with you regarding your project. Generally speaking, closing the loop in communication probably would have prevented mishaps. I can't give the 5 stars just because it is not what I had envisioned, but had the circumstances had been different and I had the ability to give their team more time to do exactly what I wanted, I truly believe they would have delivered a 5-star service. My parent's house was VERY full of everything collected over the lifetime of having a family. A husband who loved audio/video equipment and enjoyed having every tool and power equipment. A wife with hobbies and a hesitancy to throw anything away. The home was wall to wall with furniture and household items. An estate sale seemed overwhelming and we knew we needed to find an estate sale company. After interviewing 5 different types of estate sale companies which included online auctions, in-person auctions, consignment sale companies, buy-outright companies, and traditional estate sale companies...we carefully decided to hire EstateSalesAZ. We were impressed with their straight-forward flat fee pricing with no hidden costs. Other companies wanted to nickel and dime for every small item...not this company! Everything was included in their flat fee...credit card transaction fees, handling donations, garbage removal, clean-out and clean-up at the end. The owner, Joe Cestaro, is efficient and high energy. He went through the whole house to sort, organize and stage. He came with all the tables, he set up quickly and it all looked amazing when ready. He was smart about prices and researched those that he didn't know. He was personable and you could tell that the customers at the sale really liked him. He ran the sale on-time each day. He advertised all over the internet and it all lead to a great turn-out. He sold items that we never thought in a million years would sell...and for prices we never believed he would get...but he did! The sale was a huge success, almost everything sold and we made more money than we ever expected. At the end of the sale, everything was out of the house...just as promised. Walking in...I couldn't believe it was vacuumed, mopped, super clean and even smelled lemon-fresh! The only negative I could comment would be that Joe had a few equipment glitches with his computer and printer but he worked around the issues and was able to fix them quickly. I also think he could have used a little more help on the first day of the sale...his advertising and signs worked almost too good...people were everywhere! But, I'd say that was a high-quality problem to have as I was happy and relieved to see the big turnout. I am a happy customer and will be telling everyone I know about my experience...one of the reasons I'm leaving this review for others to see.

My wife and I recently moved into a high-rise condo in central Phoenix. The condo faces south and west and, inexplicably, the only glass that did NOT have sunscreen shade was the sliding glass door facing directly west. We moved in in March. Once summer arrived, the lack of sunscreen made the condo like living under a magnifying glass. The area belched heat and the sunlight, especially around 6 pm, could be blinding. We got the requisite three bids. They varied widely. There are very few companies in the interior shade market in Phoenix, odd as that seems to me. Phoenix Shades, etc. was the lowest bid of the three by over 40 percent (although I opted to install the shade roll myself, which was simple to do, but which had not been a considered option with the two higher bids). The product was indistinguishable from the shades that the other companies offered for considerably more. I should say that each company was stellar in terms of sales-service and product, but the company we selected, Phoenix Shades, was every bit as first-rate in terms of service... which I must say is counter-intuitive, considering low-bidders usually sacrifice service first. The service we got from Phoenix Shades was just great. We had an issue with the pull cord. It was a bit short. I was willing to live with it. But our salesman, Harley Magno, in his follow-up asked if we were satisfied. I said the only problem, really, was the cord, and it was inconsequential to me. He asked me to measure just how short it was, and within a few days Harley had the correct length of cord, and installed it personally. I am very pleased with the shade screen. My wife said she could tell that the air-conditioning units were working far less as soon as the screen was installed. I concurred. The condo is clearly cooler -- even though our sun-block screen really darkens the condo, I feel it was absolutely necessary for that west-facing glass patio door area. It was on Harley's recommendation that we opted for the 100 percent sun-blocking screen. It was the right product to buy. This purchase has worked out very well for us. We completely remodeled the condo before moving into it, and we had pretty much drained the remodel budget by the time we realized that the summer sun was such a blinding killer on that glass patio door. Nevertheless, buying this shade screen and buying it from Phoenix Shades both were the right things for us to do. read more

He was very patient as we went through the decision-making process (not knowing exactly what we wanted), and offered many helpful tips and suggestions. Prices were fair and selection was vast. When it was time for installation, it was smooth and professional. Harley is a perfectionist, like many designers maybe. But what sets him apart is that he is a true, full-service sales professional. I rarely give a 5-star ranking, but with this company it just doesn't get any better with regards to sales OR service!! Harley and his team of professionals have been just amazing to work with since the first time I ordered from them - 4 years ago! If there is ever an issue, it is not only heard willingly, but fixed accordingly without a moment's hesitation. Harley may be a needle in a haystack of professional business owners who "claim" that the customer's satisfaction is their #1 priority....usually rhetoric, right? Not with Harley. This guy is the real deal. He's knowledgeable, professional and prompt. Not to mention an all-around nice guy who just cares about people. Jill and PSSAD are wonderful! After months of hesitation about what I considered a complex living room window blind setup, Jill was able to sort it out and get exactly what I'd envisioned to accommodate a large sectional window (used in different by me and my cats as far as all open or tilted or closed in any combination of that) in short order! PLUS, it was at a great price and in an expected delivery time. Dave did the installation and was equally impressive in how well he knows what he is doing and just a good, nice person! Will say they were more responsive to me than I have been doing the review ... and it gave me time to see how they work and send a followup question to Jill. I was looking for someone who could provide both shutters and roman shades. I brought PSS&D out based on their Yelp reviews. I looked at three companies and while Harley wasn't the least expensive, he was WELL worth the slight additional cost and I couldn't be happier! One of the things I liked best about Harley was that he provided so much more than just a price for the shades and shutters - he provided décor advice on paint color, sofa color, lighting, etc. He gave me a great tip on where to find great lighting in the Valley. He even came out twice to help me finalize my shade fabric. Harley is amazing. He is full of ideas, suggestions and has anything and everything you could be looking for. We replaced multiple window coverings with new draperies and shutters. Harley is great! He was referred to us by the in-laws. And they think the world of him. We were desperate for window treatments as our 10 year old home had nothing on the windows and summer was on it's way. Decorating is a favorite past time for me except to for when it comes to windows. Harley quickly helped us select the best option for us. I bought a house with blinds that were literally falling apart. I decided to replace all the blinds with shutters. Harley came out to my house and made great recommendations including two windows that worked better with Roman shades. I didn't even contact any other companies.
