While visiting the DMV, my in-laws who like gambling at the casino as much as myself, offered to take my husband and I to what they called their hidden gem of a casino in Chesapeake Beach, MD. As we drove through the small coastal town, they pointed out all the main attractions like the beach and a couple of restaurants. Parking was available on the street, and the resort also had a tiny parking lot. Construction was underway due to a renovation, so I was not able to get a full view of outside the resort. The casino has 2 floors and is quaint. They also offer bingo, and you can purchase lottery tickets. My party of 4 split up after arrival, and we had no issues finding each other by scanning the room with our eyes, no need to do a lot of walking. They have slots that are not the traditional ones I'm accustomed to. The slots all are like the penny slots that you find at a larger casino with all the noise and graphics, but you can wager in higher denominations if you care to. We spent two hours there and I was not impressed. If you are staying at the hotel, the small casino is a nice added convenience. I would not travel to come back for the casino alone.

This place still has some work to do as far as renovations etc etc. It's a beautiful place. My Mom wanted to celebrate her 88th bday here. We didn't realize the restaurant wasnt open so we ended up going right on the premises to 1936 Bar and Grill that was connected but it was a little walk to get there for Seniors. Our friends and family seemed to enjoy the casino. The casino has two floors so that makes up for it being a smaller casino. The waterfront outside bar had great views. The Bartenders seemed like they could have used more training. They seemed overwhelmed even when the bar wasn't busy. Maybe they need a barback to help because they weren't even cleaning off your empty drink cups. Still I will definitely return. Such a lovely place just need to get the kinks out. Hopefully the Rod n Reel restaurant will be opened next time I visit.

First time staying at resort, wont be my last! There's a wing being added, so I'm looking forward to returning Summer 2025. The room was comfy & very clean. The ac ran quietly & didn't turn off during the night so the room remained comfortable. Front desk staff very polite & professional. I dined 2 restaurants on the resort: CBQ for breakfast & 1936 for dinner. Honestly no complaints. I spent my time lounging at the pool..under a cabana. I'm not a gambler, but Bingo. & slot machines were available. There's a trail nearby and North beach is less than a 5min drive away. It was a perfect get away.

I rarely leave negative reviews, only 1 other 2 star review. Honestly Rod & Reel does not even deserve 2 stars but for the fact the young lady at the front desk and gentleman valet were shining stars, I'm giving them each a star. All the other employees were rude, disinterested, unhelpful and did not want to be there, as I was told by an employee. For $285 a night, Rod & Reel should be ashamed. My girlfriends and I came for the Ginuwine concert. Both girlfriends live here in Chesapeake Beach. For as many years we've been friends, we've never stayed nor hung out here, now I understand why. Rooms are dated, trim coming off the walls, crumbs left on surfaces, spilled water left on the desk. The room has a musty, humid scent. Bathrooms need a desperate update. My girlfriend got stuck in the elevator on the 1st floor. The manager on duty saw it happen. There was no urgency to try to help her. He later laughed about it...insert side eye. Due to the location, Rod and Reel has so much potential. The night we stayed the hotel was fully booked. Hundreds of rooms for almost $300 per right, they need to get it together and start renovating!

It was the open door kind of hidden around a bush. Sent there and waited for Brenda. She was kind. Went to get the owner Paul because I mistakenly booked two rooms. He said it was no problem, he could fix it. Gave us the password to the wifi and our key. He told us that we could cast the game onto a tv if we needed to. Awesome! We bought two bottle koozies which, if you don't bring any- this is a must for a hot day. There are maybe 10 rooms to stay in. It's motel style, your door opens to the outside. Our room was super clean. #5. And opened to a sandy area and a volleyball net. A couple groups of Adirondack chairs in the sand. A couple fire pits also. This place is very cool! It's on the water of the Chesapeake Bay. You can drive here or boat here. There are 4 bars. 3 are outside, 1 inside. Although I'm not sure why. They're all very close to each other. Live music today (Sunday) 2p-6p Also on Friday and Saturday While at the bar outside we ordered fried green beans that came with a spicey dip- and were given a small pager that told us when our food was ready - IT WAS delicious! We started a tab at an outside bar and were told that we could order at any of the 4 bars. We went inside when a baseball game was about to start. They have no baseball game channels. Jake tried to help us for a few minutes but got frustrated and walked away. I'm not sure where that went wrong. While inside at the bar we ordered food. Cheeseburger and fries, and wings. Both delicious. Still no game. It was on direct tv. Jake didn't know the password. After a lot of signal searching on my cellphone. (No signal at the inside bar) we found a friend that gave us their log in to direct tv. This is a cozy little local spot. I'd compare the stay to a cottage at a camp ground. It was clean and close to the bar. Walking distance. To sum it up. It was a new experience. A fun stay. Everything except that 4 inning bump in the road when Jake made us feel like we were bothering him.

We…read morevisited around this time last year with friends, and this time we came back with family. The biggest improvement from our first visit was check-in. Last year we waited close to 45 minutes, but this time it was quick and easy. There were self-service kiosks, staff available to help, and we were checked in with our wristbands and parking pass in no time. One thing Great Wolf Lodge absolutely gets right is communication. From the moment I booked until we checked out, they kept us informed with emails and text messages about our stay, FAQs, activity schedules, upgrades, and even notified us that the water park would open early at 9 a.m. instead of 11. During our stay, I could text their virtual assistant with questions and always received quick, helpful responses. It made everything so easy. The water park was a lot of fun, and I love that you can enjoy it both before your room is ready and after checking out. We arrived around lunchtime and were able to spend most of the afternoon at the water park, then returned again the next morning after checkout. One thing we were disappointed by was the bar area near the water park. We were told there were TVs there, and since the World Cup was on, we asked about watching the game while hanging out at the bar. Staff said they would try to get it on Fox, but unfortunately the TVs weren't working. It would have been nice to have the option to watch the World Cup there instead of having to go back to the room, and my brother ended up staying in the room to watch the game instead of spending time at the water park. We also had a disappointing experience with customer service at Barnwood, the on-site restaurant, during dinner the night before. I did leave a separate review for Barnwood specifically, but since it is on the property, I wanted to mention it here as part of our overall stay as well. Our favorite part of the trip was the Legend of Luna story time. It was interactive, magical, and beautifully done with special effects that made it feel immersive. My daughter loved it so much she wanted to watch it twice! There were also plenty of other family activities throughout the day, including dance parties, storytime yoga, MagiQuest, bowling, mini golf, ropes courses, mining activities, and more. The rooms were spacious, clean, and comfortable. Throughout the resort, the bathrooms were consistently clean, and I frequently saw staff actively cleaning. Housekeeping was also incredibly efficient--they were already preparing rooms right at checkout time. Every employee we interacted with was friendly and welcoming, and even other guests seemed to be in great spirits, which added to the overall atmosphere. Like most resorts, food and extras can get expensive. We decided to skip the breakfast buffet after taking a look and instead grabbed breakfast from the Dunkin' on-site, which worked out perfectly. Having that option was definitely a plus. The only real downside during our stay happened at the outdoor pool. Someone got sick in the water, and while staff removed the visible mess with a net, the pool remained open and guests were allowed to continue swimming. That didn't sit well with us, so we chose not to return to the outdoor pool for the rest of our visit. I also wish guests had the option to use a different payment method at the resort restaurants instead of automatically charging purchases to the card linked to the room. Those were relatively minor issues compared to everything else the resort offers. The water park, activities, clean facilities, excellent communication, and friendly staff made this a memorable family getaway. It's only a little over an hour from home, making it an easy overnight trip, and we'll definitely be back again.

While booking my reservation, I found a discount code after I had already selected my dates. I went back to apply it and, without me realizing it, the reservation dates changed to two days later. There was no intentional change on my part. My wife, our 8-month-old daughter, and I packed the car with everything a baby requires and drove hours to the Maryland resort. After waiting in line for over an hour to check in, we were finally told that our reservation wasn't for that day and there was nothing the front desk could do except hand me a phone number to call. With no rooms available, we were forced to find a room at the Red Roof Inn down the street. When I called to cancel, things somehow got even worse. The customer service representative asked why I was canceling, so I explained everything and told her there was no availability because I had literally just been turned away at the resort. She ignored what I had just explained and asked what dates I wanted to switch to. I had to repeat that there was no availability and that I had just driven there with my family. She then told me they would still keep my $130 deposit because it was a non-refundable reservation and claimed cancellations had to be made within 24 hours. The problem? I had made the reservation only about eight hours earlier. Even after I pointed that out and asked her to actually read the reservation details in her own system, there was absolutely no empathy, no ownership, and no attempt to make things right. Mistakes happen. What defines a company is how they respond when they do. Great Wolf Lodge failed at every opportunity. The front desk couldn't help. Customer service didn't listen. Nobody showed even the slightest concern for a family stranded with an infant after driving hours to what was supposed to be a special trip. This was supposed to be our first Great Wolf Lodge experience. It will also be our last. I will never stay at another Great Wolf Lodge, and I certainly won't recommend the Maryland location to anyone. There are plenty of businesses that value their customers. Unfortunately, Great Wolf Lodge is not one of them.

We were incredibly excited to spend our once in a life time honeymoon in such a beautiful place, but felt underwhelmed and honestly disappointed with the whole experience. Renovations: We knew this time of year would be slower (October 2025) and that's okay. What we didn't know was that 2/3 of the resort would be closed for renovations. I understand facilities will eventually need work and slow season would be the time to do it, but there was no communication about it until we were already there. Had we known we probably would've chosen a different resort. Thursday and Fridays morning we were woken up due to construction noises. NOT the kind of thing you'd expect at a place like this. Staff: Some of the staff was friendly; I would say most. Johnny the bartender was awesome. There were a few encounters however where staff didn't seem to care and they never once apologized for 2/3 of the resort being closed or offered anything to make up for it--a complimentary bottle of wine, a coupon to use at the spa, etc. I'm not looking for handouts, but after working in hospitality for over a decade I know you want your guests to feel welcome; especially on special occasions, such as this. Over the course of a week, only once were we greeted at the beach by a waitress to ask us if we wanted anything to drink or eat. I found this odd because you would think during a slow season it would be the opposite. I always tip at least 20% so it wouldn't have been the staff avoiding us due to not tipping. There is no Uber or Lyft so you have to call taxis to go everywhere if you don't rent a car. The concierge was helpful here and every time they got a taxi booked quickly, which was appreciated. Upon checking out I noticed there was a charge for a bottle of wine we did not consume. When I mentioned it I was told by the manager she would not be removing the charge and just walked away. I was honestly shocked. I was surprised by this treatment after every other place we had been to in Turks had the most friendly and kind people. I would suggest a different resort based on this alone. Facilities: Everyone was crammed into one corner of the resort because everything as closed. They played the same song on repeat all week. I'm not even exaggerating here. The same song on repeat all week. The beach was beautiful and our room was gorgeous. The AC worked very well and we slept like a rock when not being woken up by construction. The main pool was drained for work so they told us to use the 2 swim out pools attached to the first floor rooms patios. It felt uncomfortable swimming here and like we were intruding on the privacy of the people who booked those rooms. I feel bad for those who did book those rooms expecting a somewhat private swim out pool. Food: All the food was great. The food in Turks & Caicos was remarkable and better than we expected. Overall it looks like Windsong has the potential to be a great place to vacation, but for us it did not live up to expectations. There are so many options for tropical destinations and resorts that you should not settle for anything less than amazing, and unfortunately Windsong was not that. Save yourself a potential let down and stay somewhere else.
