Love the selection of baked and bottled goods, produce and cider! I picked up a container of honey roasted peanut butter this time around and I can't stop eating it. Such a cute family owned farmers market! I was up in the area visiting a friend and my husband and I stopped by here on the way home. We took home sooooo much stuff... Bbq sauce, cider, apple pie, veggies, dog treats, different types bread, honey roasted peanut butter, short rib raviolis, apples, organic honey, chop meat and more. It extremely rare I go to a new place where EVERYTHING and I mean EVERYTHING was so fresh and delicious. This was a last minute but really great find! There is a parking lot and then another parking lot for extra parking. There's tons of sitting to enjoy some snacks and food and drinks all on property. We did not get a chance to go into the main building but we did get a chance to try the iced coffee on property, was well needed. There's tons of photo ops on property if you are there. Space for the kids to safely run around. There's Apple picking which we did not get to do and there's a u-pick pumpkin. A nice stop for our long drive back home to get out to stretch! read more

Can't say enough about this place. If you've never been, it's a 100+ year old orchard that has built out an amazing farmers market, taproom for cider tastings and dining area nice for lunch. We spent time at all 3 but the market was our favorite. Can't stress how amazing their selection was. They're known for their peaches, which didn't disappoint, but their apples were great too. Try the Pristines if they have them! Amazing! From their cookies and baked goods to their homemade dips to their ketel corn and nuts and pickles -- so much homemade goodness and it was all so fresh and delicious. The only thing that topped their products were the people. So friendly and literally offered a sample of everything and anything. I visited Soons Orchard today with a group of friends. We made a reservation for brunch which was excellent. I had the eggs benedict and also tasted the french toast. My group ordered cider flights with our brunch. The cider is a bit dry for my liking but I still enjoyed it. We then took the hayride for $5 down to the pumpkin patch. You get to cut your pumpkins off the vine. After picking, we went inside the store to grab some donuts (they were so fresh). They also have a large selection of produce, dips, jams/jellies, and baked goods. Overall, I really enjoyed my visit to Soons and will be back. It is a little off the beating path and less commercialized than other orchards in the Hudson Valley which is a plus. read more

Pulled up to the orchard shop. People were really filling up their arms excitingly with all sorts of colorful vegetables and baskets of lovely apples and peaches. I love it! I've got my arms full too. There are some handmade home decor too. It's really cute to see their art. The bakery area had been depleted of all of its freshly baked goods. So I have to come back another time to sample that. I look forward to it! I wonder if they make peach bread from the peaches and apple baked goods from their own apples. Soon is a family establishment that has been around longer than most. Humans have been alive. I was invited to the farm dinner. They host every couple of months in which locally source products are turned into delightful delicious meals. The menu this time around was fantastic and the fact that all the ingredients are fresh just makes each dish that that much better. Appetizers for the dinner and included handmade pizzas with the most amazing sauce you have ever had on a pizza crisp juiciest pepperonis with hot honey, stuffed meatballs, covered in vodka sauce, which had the perfect amount of spice to it, seared tuna on a crispy wonton, which was so flavorful, a whipped ricotta with some of sons fresh apples on a crostini, a crispy chicken and waffle bite topped with a Housemade pickle, which was the perfect combination of sweet salty spicy. It was everything I would ever want a singular bite of food. The appetizer of a shrimp scampi with a hash of potatoes and garlic ramps was a perfect start, a Frenched chicken breast in chicken jus Was perfectly seared crisp, yet juicy, and amazingly flavorful. Chef Anthony Mario performs a demo on how to make each dish before it is served to you. Staff are absolutely delightful and they're knowledge of fresh goods is unmatched. Besides the dinner, the taproom has an array of siders, whiskeys, bourbons and wines all locally sourced. And the farm store, having every vegetable fruit, jam, jelly, eat eggs, local honey, fresh farm, baked goods from the fruits grown at soons Is it amazing opportunity to stock up on all of your favorites. Cool place! We checked out the market next door which had lots of delicious foods. My favorite was the apple cider donuts! We also went inside and tried the cider flight - while this was not for me because the ciders were too dry for me, it was fun to try! They had lots of places to sit and some board games to play. They do not serve food in the winter but I believe they do in the summer! We also had the pleasure of meeting the Soons Orchatds dog on the way out - always an added bonus :) read more

The fact that the line wraps around the building on a regular day shows you the amazing that awaits inside the building. With Thanksgiving being around the corner, I needed to stop in to get my Scotty's famous pies. Every single pie is baked to perfect and are reasonably priced. The entire market is great when it comes to the baked good, including the delicious apple cider doughnuts. I still don't get the price per bag of apples versus the price you pay to pick them, but that was a different review. Had a great time pumpkin picking in October. For $4 per person, you sign up for a socially distanced hay ride over to the pumpkin patch where they'll stay as long as it takes you to get your photos and pumpkins. Once you're back on the farm, you can sample their ciders or liquor table, fudges, buy freshly popped popcorn, and sit down for charcuterie plates which were reasonable priced at $10-20. We LOVE Soons! We live nearby and visit the orchard store now and then, but it's become a tradition to visit in mid to late September to stock up on goodies. The fresh made donuts are just So good! We're also big fans of the crumb and pound cakes, and we always get some fresh local honey while there. The selection of local goods is excellent - aside from the beautiful, fresh produce, you'll find marinades, BBQ sauces, dressings, nuts, chocolates and candies, and of course, cider! I love Soons! Between their apple cider and baked goods. I could live in this place! They make the best brownies I have ever had. They are big, moist, and have chocolate chips inside of them. I also love the chocolate chip cookies, because they are chewy and large as well. I always stick up on their apple cider because no grocery store cider can compare to Soons apple cider. They also recently started making sugar cookies and my daughter enjoys the taste and the fun shapes they make. Nice fun shop! We went on a Saturday around lunch time and it was PACKED. It is a very popular place with a long line but they got us checked out pretty fast. Their stores has seasonal fruit and veggies galore. August was the month we went and they had apples, pumpkins, corn tons of vegetables! They also had apple cider donuts which were very good. My husband got the powdered sugar donut which he just thought was okay. They have a lot of unique flavored items for the season...like peach pies and candies. You can purchase the fruits and vegetables and they also have smoothies for sale as well. Parking lot is not very large so you may have to park on the street. I have to start by saying I love places that have so much confidence in their products that they have out a ton of samples. Each item I tasted we ended up buying ! The peaches were the best I've ever eaten my only regret was not buying more. The cantaloupe was like the most delicious dessert I've ever tasted. I also got butterscotch peanut butter they make themselves. We also purchased some baked goods for our families including cider donuts and a amaZing Apple pocket which my mom cannot stop talking about. Anywho, Soons is pretty much the most farm-y, country place you can imagine: *Orchard *self pick your own apples (though not out of the same orchard as the ones they use to make their products. Elitest I tell you) *Home made pastries - the doughnuts are outrageously good *SUPER nice folks who work here *Tasting room next to the farm store where you can sample hard ciders and buy them to go via growler,champagne bottle, or (newly added) cans* We found out last week that they also do farmhouse dinners a few times a month, which entails a four-course meal that starts in the tasting room, then migrates to the store that is cleared out of products (and tables set up instead). I will absolutely be trying this. We also found out that the taproom is closed every January, February, and March (slow season), but you can still get growlers filled in the main store. If you find yourself on a brewery crawl in this part of the state (and you very well might with the amount of them up here), make sure to change it up and gives Soons a shot, you'll be happy you did. __________ *This, in particular, excites me, as it may mean they will start exporting to stores. On a beautiful October Sunday, we stopped by Soons on a whim during a road trip upstate. Uncertain what to expect, we were happy to see apple trees lining one side and a bustling country farm market on the other. The orchard is smaller in comparison to other sprawling estates, but it was nice that all the activity was concentrated and it felt lively. We approached the line for the apple cider donut window. The line was LONG, which probably means it's worth it. Pay inside the country store first. Pray that you'll get to the front of the line when the fresh donuts are coming out. Pro tip: THE CINNAMON SUGAR ONES are really the only ones to get. We got lucky: they came out piping hot and fresh, and they practically melted in our mouths. There's a bar next door that serves burgers and beer. The Tasting Room was cute, and there was a very cheery gentleman doing some live music. Restrooms are port-a-potty only. Pumpkins and gourds a-plenty! I visited a different orchard the following week and was immensely disappointed that the cider donuts didn't live up to the ones at Soons. You gotta stop by Soonser or later! read more

My first visit here, Soons has the normal apple cider, hay rides, apple picking and pie eating contests. I've been to better, it's pretty small and commercialized like most of these place. The cider was tasty and everyone was grabbing the cider donuts and grabbing them. I have had better at Shop Rite. The apple pie also not very impressed. Everyone else seemed to love them but I found it was kind of on the mushy side and just not my taste. A lot of kids working the parking area who really don't know what they're doing. It's an okay place to bring little kids on an off day but as an adult I would skip. read more
