I started searching for a surgeon to remove my implants over a year ago when I finally saw an article on breast implants Illness and all my mysterious ailments began to make sense. I started by trying to go thru my insurence to no avail and started doing research on surgeons who specialize in the removal and happened upon Dr Rubenstiens Facebook support group. He came highly recommended by the members and had great reviews here as well. So I finally just decided to go for it. He was very nice at the consult. Didn't discredit my feelings of my implants being the cause of my health problems which was all I was really hoping for. We scheduled the surgery date. The cost was Definetly not what I wanted to pay but it in the end I feel like it was worth it. When I opened my bra the day after surgery I was more happy with my results than the day after I got my implants originally(different expectations probably playing a role for sure tho) I think once they heal I will have better looking and placed boobs than I have ever had. I already feel better not having the implants and can't wait to see how I feel and look after I am fully recovered and healed. I can not recommend him enough. Dr. Rubinstein is amazing!! There are so many great things to say about him, his knowledge, passion, caring attitude and his enjoyable personality. Dr. Rubinstein has treated me for the past two years and I cannot overstate how fortunate I am that another physician referred me to him. He has taken a prudent and conservative approach in the treatment of my trigger finger. The last resort was to operate on it and of course, it was totally successful. Saw me for 5 minutes in the hospital. Did not listen to my concerns regarding facial lacerations. Then charged my insurance $660 dollars then said I owed on top of that another $600. Horrible bedside manor. 5 minutes cost over $1000. Was one of the worse doctors that I have seen. read more

Dr. Rubinstein himself is a great doctor. I first saw him for a fractured finger and now to have a lump removed. I have previously had the lump removed twice by another doctor and it came back both times. There is never a guarantee that it won't come back, but what I really appreciate about Dr. Rubinstein is his confidence in the work he does. He assured me this is a procedure he does all the time and he is pretty confident he can take care of it. Many other doctors are very hesitant to remove it after me telling them it has has been removed twice and has come back both times. Dr. Rubinstein is down to earth and knows how to makes his patients comfortable. I had the procedure scheduled for today to get the lump removed by Dr. Rubinstein. When I got to the office, the girl told me she did not have me scheduled at all. This was very frustrating as I was able to pull up the exact date and time (4/16 at 10:32am) that I had made the appointment with them in my phone log. They just told me all they had on record was that they left me a voicemail on 4/12. I understand we are all human and mistakes can happen, but what frustrates me the most is that nothing was done to try and make it right. Instead they told me the next earliest appointment they could give me is over 3 weeks away. I took the day off of work to get this procedure done today, had my boyfriend also take the day off (who had to fly in to be here), cancelled a tennis match and was taking medication Dr. Rubinstein requested to prepare for it, all for nothing. So so frustrating and completely inconvenienced!! I would highly recommend Dr. Rubinstein but would also highly recommend getting appointment details in writing to avoid any miscommunication. I have known many Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons in our area. I worked for one most of my adult life. When I had a an accident and mangled my left index finger with an immersion blender, I thought for sure I had lost that part of my finger. Los Robles Hospital conferred with Dr. Rubinstein, and did the best they could. They sent me home with instructions to call Dr. Rubinstein. I called the office and they were very kind, compassionate and professional. In walked Dr. Rubinstein and he said he could fix it. He sutured my mangled finger and worked on the fracture. I came back a week later and I had my finger back. Sure, it needs more healing time but it looks and works like my finger before the accident. We needed some new talent in our area, most of our surgeons have aged out. I highly recommend Dr. Rubinstein. He has a great bedside manner and as the ability to assure you all will be okay. This doctor did an explant of my breast implants. He did a lift at the same time which left me deformed. I had beautiful nipples before the surgery and now they are deformed. I have had to have 2 corrective surgeries (one he did at his cost because the surgery was that botched). I will have more surgeries in the future. In both surgeries at two different surgery centers, I had nurses ask me privately why I had chosen him to do my breast surgery. He is not a trained breast surgeon. He is a very caring doctor and tried to do the best he could. However, I felt like he learned how to do surgery at my expanse on my body as the test subject. It's just wrong at so many levels. I specifically asked him to do a very soft lift and he did not. Again he is a very caring doctor but at the end of the day I didn't need someone to hold my hand. I needed a doctor who had had experience with the surgery on breasts like mine and he didn't. I am left with ugly, deformed breasts and no feeling in my nipples and that is something that is hard to live with considering what I started with which was beautiful breasts and full feeling even after other lifts and breast feeding. It has taken me a long time to accept the new breasts I have which didn't have to be like this and honestly I'm still having a hard time with it. I do not recommend him for breast surgery. read more

He performed a very challenging scar revision and I am very happy with the results. He was very frank and he explained that my condition has a very high risk for recurrences but he gave me detailed instructions to minimize it from coming back. I have seen quite a few plastic surgeons about some health issues I've been having with my breast implants and he is the first person that didn't treat me like I was crazy. He was so respectful and so kind and heard out all my symptoms unlike anyone else. Before my consultation he had a questionnaire on a tablet regarding bii symptoms (breast implant illness) which isn't widely accepted yet so that's why so many surgeons have told me nothing is wrong with me. He is intrigued about what I and so many other women are dealing with and I've never felt so comfortable with any type of medical professional. I had pinkie surgery from the famous Kerlin Jobe 7 years ago and my hand never got better after that surgery only worse. I was referred to Dr. Rubinstein and he had me work on a few things for about a year but as my pain increased it was surgery time. I went to Dr. Rubinstein for a reoccurring right ring finger injury. I was a told by another Doctor that I had to live lack of motion and constant pain. I could not even make a fist. During my initial visit, Dr. Rubinstein, told me I can help you with your injured finger. He took x-rays and gave me a shot in my right ring finer. He suggested I see a Physical Therapist in Simi Valley. Between the shot and the P.T. my finger started to fell much better. By the end of P.T. my finger felt as if it had never been injured. No pain! Complete motion! I was able to make a fist! If I had listened to the Doctor, I saw prior to finding Dr. Rubinstein, I would still be in constant pain, discomfort and would not have full use of my right hand. On the recommendation of another physician, I made an appointment with Dr. Rubinstein to examine my painful arthritic right index finger and I'm so glad I did. He showed me the x-ray of the finger, explained the source of the pain and then in plain English what the options were for my treatment: another shot of cortisone (I had had 3 previous shots spaced 3 months apart with other providers; Dr. Rubinstein pointed out that the shots become less and less effective over time) or surgery. I chose another shot which has given me some relief which I now know is short term. Should I opt for surgery, fusion, in the near future, Dr. Rubinstein allayed my fears indicating that I would be able to bend the finger as much as I'm able to do now, but without the pain. I feel better now that I know what to expect. The office is bright, clean and welcoming. The staff who were on duty (Jamie and Alina) were friendly, courteous and helpful. I fractured my hand in two places quite badly in a motocross race. A friend of my mom's had recommended Dr. Rubinstein and from my first visit, I knew I was in good hands (no pun intended). He examined the X-rays with me, took the time to explain things and I was very confident going into my surgery. Surgery went well, I have had two follow-up appointments and both have been excellent. Dr. Rubinstein is very professional but also is very personable. He referred me to a great hand therapist and I my recovery has been very good. Carol and Taylor, his office staff and nurse are very nice, and a bonus is that he is usually is on time for the appointment you have.
