Rogall's crew did an excellent job painting our exterior and repairing the spots that needed to be repaired which is so crucial living near the coast. Our liaison Malik, was communicative and helpful explaining all the necessary details. He listened to our concerns and acted upon them. Our work crew chief, Carlos along with Paul and crew were knowledgeable, professional, friendly, punctual and skilled. Quite an operation. First the estimator. Then the initial site orientation with the carpentry crew. Communication regarding start dates and other work related issues was outstanding. After carpentry, the power washer arrives and works above and beyond to clean your site before painting. Great job! Thanks. Like the carpentry crew, the paint crew did an outstanding job. Really again went above and beyond in the efforts to paint and wood epoxy needed areas. Also, every contractor who worked on the site was very kind and treated your house like their own. First of all, Rogall did a great job. The workers mostly arrived on time and worked long hours to get the job done. Juan is especially talented in his attention to detail and precision. Luis is an excellent painter. Getting workers to return every day was difficult. We had to call and ask Rogall to send someone to finish the job more than once. Rogall started February 23 and finished April 1. There were extra tasks related to the three jobs that Rogall completed for us, but they didn't update their quote. Rogall's quotes were low and their costs are high. Materials are not included in your quote. In the end we paid over twice our original quote. One week we were billed for over 142 hours. When we asked for details, we found that every person who showed up at our house was billing by the minute at $125 per hour including workers, material delivery people, supervisors sitting in their cars for 2 to 3 hours, and the owner, Stephen. In that one week there were mainly two guys working with a third helping for a day and a half. All Rogall employees login to an app when they are near your house, and billing begins. Sometimes they sat in their cars for 10 to 15 minutes at the beginning and end of the day. We wouldn't use Rogall again due to the very high cost. read more

The Good: Very responsive, communicated well. Mike the head of the paint crew was great and took a lot of extra care on a lot of the big issues that arose (I'd hire him independently again if I could). The Bad: Very high billing rate compared to competitors, 2 week job turned into 6 weeks, additional charges with a subpar result. I have a 1200 sq home and we wanted interior drywall textured smoothed and then painted. I went to Rogall because of their stellar online ratings, and despite a higher billing rate, I thought I'd be getting a professional, high quality end result. After two coats of plaster to smooth the walls, we were told the texture team said they needed a third coat done. This increased the material and labor cost by approximately 30%. The total amount billed was approx. $17,000 just for the texturing, mostly a result of their approx. $110 per hour charge for the texturing When we returned to the house after the painting was done, we were shocked at the state of the walls. It was clear, in any sort of lighting, that the texture was not smooth in large areas, specifically near the windows, in the kitchen, and in the bathrooms. What's more, the crews did not remove anything from the walls that we hadn't already removed. I personally removed all the electrical fittings but both the textures and painters just painted around things I was assured would be removed. The paint had poke marks in large areas, which I think was a result of the walls not being cleaned of the dust from the sanding of the texturing. The pictures posted are of what two crews (the texture and painters) thought was passable as a result. Even after the additional 3 weeks of work they did (at no charge) where they essentially re textured and painted the entire house, the end result feels rushed and unprofessional. Almost every electrical outlet has paint on them, something I expected would be removed by the crew at some point. Bathroom and kitchen fixtures had paint on them, as well as the washing machine. I found one spot in the bedroom where the wall paint ended up on the ceiling. Almost every day I notice a new spot on the wall where the texture is still incomplete. To be honest, I was expecting them to refund the additional 30% for the texturing due to the huge problems, but they did not offer. I gave two stars because I think some of this is on me. I now know that I should not do per hour work on large projects like this. I also know that I need to ask more questions about the project management and quality checking of jobs. I just assumed that there would be a project manager involved. Overall, I am unsatisfied with the end result and am already researching other companies to fix the remaining issues. For future projects I'll look for smaller companies that have more dedicated resources for projects like this. read more

I recently had the interior of my house painted by Rogall painting company. Having the interior of your home painted while still living in it can be stressful and daunting, and was honestly something I was dreading to some degree. Rogall assured me that they would do everything they could to make it as smooth and easy as possible, that it wouldn't be too stressful and that they were there to help, and that's just what they did, from start to finish. Rogall as a company was really professional. I dealt with many different employees and they all were great to communicate or work with, and everyone was really nice. Malik was really great helping me pick out my paint color. He was really knowledgeable and he was so patient answering all my questions and explaining things to me. I definitely got overwhelmed with it all a couple times, and he was so calm and helped me problem solve whatever it was. Malik, Jonathan, and Joseph were the team of painters that came, and let me tell you, they were so awesome! Everyone was extremely punctual, they were all hard workers and very thorough with their work. They truly are good at what they do. Jonathon and Joseph painted the majority of my house. Those two have incredible work ethic, are really clean while painting, they stayed later if needed, they were really tidy with all their paint gear they left each day, and both worked really hard, non stop, until the job was done, they were so GREAT!! Rogall repaired areas of wood rot and stucco damage, sealed and painted the exterior of our home and rebuilt our deck. The work was done in a timely fashion and the Project Manager(s) kept us up to date on the status of the projects. The quality of workmanship was exceptional for each part of the project. Other neighbors who had their homes painted by other companies can't believe the level of detail Rogall provided. There is a minor issue with one deck board but they are working to take care of it (needed an additional board). We would highly recommend their services! Rogall Painting was the Maritime Museum's Board of Directors first choice for a much needed restoration and painting of two (2) donated C-Trains... they were such an eyesore for visitors in their original condition! When the Board approached Steven Rogall for a bid on the job, Steven was punctual to come to the site ( on the Embarcadero in Morro Bay ) and spent a few hours with his lead employee and a Board member. The estimate received from Steven Rogall was 13 pages long, and in much detail, outlined exactly how the rust and years of neglect were to be rectified and renewed! The pricing for the job was very fair and of course, being a non-profit organization, we were pleased that the quote was about 1/3 the amount of what we were expecting.... what a blessing! As soon as the Board approved the project, Steven and his crew were on site the next week and were finished within days.... all the Board members who are regulars at the site for maintenance and "jovial bantering" were so impressed. We still receive comments daily of how nicely restored and preserved the C-Trains look.... and we use them for valuable tool storage and donated marine-related items to be fixed for display at the Museum site. We take pride in the Morro Bay Maritime Museum site and it shows! All-in-all... a very punctual, co-operative, respectful team of professionals were the people we had the pleasure of using for our large project and if we encounter another need, we would not hesitate to call on Rogall Painting again! I wanted to post a couple photos of the wonderful bedroom paint job by Rogall but the lighting from a window did not give the room justice. I am usually a DIY and I do a good job BUT I made 2 mistakes on my bedroom (years ago but still): I did not wash the walls and I did not primer the walls. The paint was peeling off the walls. I lived with it for a few years and finally this year I decided to tackle the problem. Well, "fixing" the problem was turning into more work than I really wanted to spend my time. I turned to Rogall because years ago, I was asking for bids for another home project and Nathan, project manager, made a very good impression on me. It gave me confidence that my painting project will be taken care of since.. there was Nathan at my door saying, "let's take a look at what you got." I appreciated that he remembered my home (and was polite not to ask about the previous project). He brought in his crew, Max and Staci. They were on time, courteous, efficient and best of all (for me anyway) when they were done for the day THEY LEFT THE ROOM CLEAN!!! (which is something that greatly displeased me with the previous vendor) What Max and Staci were able to do in a couple of days, would have taken me a couple of weeks. The bedroom has a very professional touch to it that cannot be beat if I had done it myself. Thanks to Nathan, Max and Staci. They did a wonderful job for us! I knew we needed some repair, and reconstruction on our trim, then painting. It turned out so lovely, and I know it will last for many years because they did the job right. I even wanted a different color for the patio walls in back, they were even ok with that. The entire Rogall team was extremely professional and a pleasure to deal with. Brad Wiesner headed up our project and Nathan Curtis was the on-site supervisor and was hands on throughout our project. Michael Basson also assisted us with our color selections and we arrived at a color scheme exactly to our liking. We needed some minor dry rot repair done, which was determined after our initial power washing. The benefit of working with Rogall is a that they have a separate construction division who was able to do the repairs for us on a timely basis. The separate estimate and contract for our structural repairs was on the high side, in our opinion, but the quality of workmanship was excellent and we were able to get the work done right away, rather than having to hunt down someone else in Cambria to do the work on short notice. We found the "one-stop shopping" with Rogall to be a big benefit. They came in right at their original painting estimate, which was slightly below the two other estimates we received. The quality of their painting work was excellent. They took extra measures to protect our landscaping and front and back patio areas. They also made it a point to clean up at the end of each work day. Adrian was the lead painter and his attention to detail was amazing. We will definitely call on Rogall in the future for any of our exterior painting needs. read more

My first contact was with estimator Nate who sold me on the company and continued communicating clearly with me throughout the job. Another estimator named Brad came out to give me a price on some construction work. I like that this company has both a painting division and a construction division. Once the job started Nate passed the baton to Michael, but day-to-day supervision of the team was by Nathan who was extraordinary and so meticulous about every detail. The staff at Rogall have been exceptionally responsive and very good at answering my questions, explaining the process of the job they were doing. Had them paint a room and they did a really nice job of getting it right and addressing details. Has a leak repair in the ceiling -- they were persistent in hunting down the source of the leak, fixed it, repaired the ceiling and did it all with good communication with me. Had my soffit repaired (mostly replaced). Again courteously explained the work, completed it with seemingly good results. They are higher priced than other construction firms so make the comparison before you commit. But as far as their work is concerned they have done good work for me. Sorry to say but we did not have a positive experience with this company . There were a lot of hoops to go through to get to the foreman who was not easily available to us. It seems that they are overbooked working on many jobs at the same time. The workers who did the painting were great but the supervisor for the deck job was inexperienced and messed up the refinishing project. The workers had not used this product before . I would not recommend or use them again. It's hard to find workers but this has become a large company that has grown past their original quality work that was recommended to us. read more

We just bought a 2,900sq ft home in Arroyo Grande and hired Rogall Painting to paint our house. Our home has a lot of custom craftsmanship that required a lot of meticulous detail work around the crown molding, baseboards and staircase. The painting crew always arrived on time, we're hard working and left at the end of the day with everything clean. The lead, Reed was in direct contact with us updating us, sending us pictures and tackled any issues or questions that occurred. we really appreciated the final walk through with Reed. Rogall just completed my exterior house painting job two weeks ago. Part of the job was completed while I was away on vacation. They did a fantastic job, I am very happy that I chose Rogall. I took 3 bids on the job, and Rogall's was the highest of the three, and the highest of the top two by within $200. That said, based on the reviews here, and based on the professionalism of the estimate, the paperwork, work description, etc., I chose Rogall. Very glad I did. The pre-work discussions were thorough. The crews came and went after I departed for work, and returned home each day. Their prep-work was thorough, intermediate calls gave me updates on the job, and they even went above and beyond on a couple of small things that weren't in the original bid. However, this only served to cement the thought that my decision was the right one. Rogall matched the paint colors required by my HOA perfectly. Their clean-up was complete, and they allowed my to hold back a portion of the final payment until I returned from vacation and was able to inspect the job. We hired Rogall the year prior and were pleased with their work, so we hired them again for a big project. Rogall was here for several weeks and did renovations both inside and outside of our home. We could have gone with a company that gave us a slightly cheaper quote, but I've learned by mistake in the past that you get what you pay for. Trust me...we have horror stories from the past trying to save a few bucks. (Everything from mild annoyances like language barriers to major stuff like theft and a worker hitting on my then 16 year old daughter.) So we decided to go with the best and once again, I'm happy that we did. They were here for several weeks, but managed to make the inconvenience as stress free as possible. Every worker we spoke with was respectful and had terrific communication skills. I've forgotten some of the other names, but people like David, George and Adam were a pleasure to work with. They did a terrific job and I wouldn't hesitate to hire them a third time. read more

This is the second time we have used Rogall for house painting. The team did a very good job. However, just like the first time there is a disconnect between the original project estimator and the job manager. The crew were not going to remove exterior lights because they were difficult, but I had already purchased $2800 worth of new lights. Rogall installed 2 of the lights, I installed the rest since it was difficult. Once again one of the crew member left to do another job and did not complete the front and back doors. This then took an additional 2 weeks to get completed. After all said and done, we are very happy with the paint job on our house. Communication is still an issue. read more

I asked Rogall to only repaint elastomeric on the south and west sides of our 1945 Morro Bay brick commercial building, and to caulk and paint the four window sills facing west. That is not very challenging, that's why I'm only giving them 4 stars. But I've asked them to quote repainting the hallways and the satin woodwork trim which will be more critical. You get what you pay for. We paid a bit more for Rogall, but we got an outstanding paint job. They painted our house exterior and all our new doors, inside and out. The estimate was prompt and complete, the crews showed up when they said they would, the painting was very professional and the clean-up was thorough. Our crew manager, Juan Sanchez was excellent. He communicated well and told us exactly what to expect. There was a bit of a problem using the wrong paint sheen on the stucco, but when Rogall realized the mistake, they fixed it without question and we got four coats, instead of two, on our stucco. We had two different crews (exterior and doors). Julius led the outside painters and was awesome. He checked in frequently to make sure everything was going as expected and the clean-up at the end of each day was very thorough. Jose led the charge on our doors and he was a pleasure to work with. They set up a spray booth in the garage and didn't get a drop of paint on anything. I worked on fitting the doors and installing the latches/locks and Jose and I worked together great. I am having no problem leaving a review for Rogall Painting and Construction. I am having a problem thinking of more adjectives. They were amazing! So professional from the first phone call for an estimate with Mike Belford to the last day of the project. Our home looks so beautiful because of the quality of work everyone did. It was such a pleasant experience. We were informed on everything from start to finish. Everyone was prompt and so nice. We had a lot of dry rot that needed repair before the painting of the house could began. Mike Zemaitis was the Project Manager and his crew leader Thom Perlmutter along with Jason and Tyler were outstanding! We could not happier with the work when completed.
