We remodeled two small bathrooms in Cambria using Rogall Painting & Construction and were very happy with the process and the results. We worked with Phillip who always responded quickly and professionally and updated us throughout the remodel. Since we don't live in Cambria and could only get over there sporadically, his updates and responsiveness were essential in keeping us feeling like we were involved and well represented. The project lasted longer than suggested, but we figured it would, and there were extra charges, but they were well explained and again, more or less anticipated. Did not have a favorable experience. Before hiring this outfit make sure you have gone over EVERYTHING you want the job to entail in the initial bid. They are very much money conscious & log every minute expended. I'll just say that the price I paid should have resulted in near perfection and what was received was far from that expectation. Thank goodness for Rogall. Our 100 plus year old building in Templeton needed some love. We were fortunate enough to have Rogall Painting paint the entire outside of our home in Cambria several years ago and there was no doubt who we were going to use for the entire inside of our new home down in Shell Beach. We were not disappointed in the least, not a bit. The job was completed on time and perfectly completed. We had selected quite an array of colors, all compatible with each other, but different for every room, including the wildly different Spice Girl Orange my wife picked for the dining room. Again, all was perfectly executed. For both experiences we found Nathan an excellent "front man" for initiating the project and on this job Adam was the project manager and Juan the constant on-site crew leader. Communication with Adam and Juan was excellent throughout the project (6 days). When it comes time, someday (don't get anxious Rogall!), to paint the exterior of this house -- we will definitely use Rogall again, "third time charm" we expect! read more

Don't walk, RUN away from Rogall. They ripped us off. They gave us an estimate, took $1000 deposit. Then they disappeared for two months after they got the money. First red flag. Two months went by before they started the job after we called them several times with no return call. They put in 1 day. They tore out a deck railing and left the debris pile in the yard and went away for more weeks, leaving a dangerous situation of a second story deck and no railing. Then, a second person came over and changed the scope of the project significantly but didn't give us a new estimate. More weeks go by. Then, a third person came and changed the scope of the project a third time to something we DID NOT WANT. He basically told us we had to do things this new way which would have to tear into finished rooms, walls and the deck itself. I was so appalled as it was NOT what we wanted or asked for. Again, no new estimate. They just wanted to start doing it!! Meanwhile a big pile of debris sitting in our back yard for months. We talked to several experts who immediately said that what Rogall wanted to to do was completely ludicrous, unneeded and boatloads of money. I immediately got rid of Rogall, but not before they sent us another bill for $500. I talked to them on the phone and they didn't care that they botched the job and wouldn't waive the money. They never even cleaned up the debris they made. I told them I would never recommend them, and they just didn't care. They just want the money. DO NOT USE THESE GUYS FOR CONSTRUCTION!!!!! read more

Final day of construction and work on our home at 1442 12th, and a big shout out to Nathan Belsen, Painting Contractor! He is a meticulous and a thorough professional, and he trains his crew well. Our house was a lot of work to paint, tall with lots of trim, and the crew did a beautiful job. With the windows open, of course you can hear the crew conversing when necessary while working, and Nathan gave direction with kindness, yet was thorough and meticulous, with a little humour. There was never any "messing around"...they were at the job ON TIME, clean up excellent, AND Nathan listened carefully to this homeowner's requests and concerns. We are very satisfied. These guys did a great job painting exterior of my1965-built two-story house. I had some dry rot etc., and they have their own carpentry crew to do these repairs. The estimator was very thorough, showed me everything, and the carpenter and painters were prompt, courteous (no bad language etc.), unobtrusive, and professional. Even my dog liked them. My house looks beautiful. I would definitely recommend them. They worked very hard and did a great job during some challenging weather and with a lot of plants everywhere. read more

Rogall provided professional quality service from beginning to end. I was having difficulty getting a painting contractor out to estimate our project (re-paint 2 bedrooms, a bathroom and a fence) but within a timely fashion Rogall returned my call and setup an appointment. They estimated the project during the initial walk through and were able to schedule the work shortly thereafter. Communication during this time was great! A few days before the project, we met our crew leader, Juan. He was very punctual, knowledgeable and friendly. His team did great work and I felt very comfortable having them in my home. The project didn't come cheap, but given the quality of work and caliber of people it was worth the money and saved us a lot of stress. read more

High price for mediocre work. Final cost was double the initial estimate. Summary of pluses and minuses follows: Pluses: Responsive, courteous, clean. Good communication, overall (see below). Minuses: As mentioned above, the final cost was double the estimated cost. Seems like the charged hours were greater than hours actually worked. Also, unskilled helpers' hourly rate is the same as skilled carpenters' hourly rate. On two different occasions, I had an appointment to meet with someone at my home on a given day and nobody showed up or even called. They wasted 2 days of my time. Project lead never bothered to perform post-job walkdown with me. Quality of work was mixed. Primer was sloppily rolled onto moulding leaving thick blotches. It had to be sanded and re-done creating unnecessary re-work. I am sure they charged me extra on other days to compensate for the time they spent fixing their problems. Workers used power tools without wearing safety glasses, hearing protection or gloves. This lack of safety culture may eventually lead to a serious injury. Bag of trash was left behind for me to throw out. Maybe that was in the contract? read more

The Rogall's team really did a great job painting our great room with a very high vaulted ceiling. There was no way we could have painted such a challenging space by ourselves and we didn't know who to contact for an estimate. Our ceiling is about 24 feet high and I was afraid nobody would want the job. I had seen Rogall Painting vans around the area and some people on the Nextdoor app raved a our their painting and service, so we gave them a call. They have really great customer service and are so thorough in explaining the whole timeline and process. The team was always punctual and very clean. They use Sherwin Williams high quality paint and were helpful with recommendations for the right sheen for each surface. Rogall's is not the cheapest--we tried a cheap painter years ago and were very disappointed. But you get what you pay for and if you want a beautiful paint job done by really professional hard working team members, call Rogall Painting. read more

We asked for their services again just recently and I was pleasantly surprised that I had the same customer service and quality of work done as the last time we hired them a few years back. The exterior painting of our duplex property presented a difficult task (old lead-based paint, lots of clean up, a wall only accessible from the neighbor's yard, new bold color scheme, etc.) and I knew it would be a five figure job no matter who did it. I'll start by saying I think they would have built us a lasting high quality deck probably worth the money. If it ended up being what we wanted. I suggest having someone knowledgeable in construction with you while meeting with them. Things went wrong for us when they offered 10 or 15% off their original bid when it's their slow season. My mother in law is handicap, so it's important I was there to help make sure the ramp would be functional for her needs. I live 2 hrs away, and twice they canceled meetings Last minute until conveniently it was passed the date eligible for the discount. My mother in law was reassured discount would still apply. So finally our un canceled meeting comes to fruition, we had to call a half hr after scheduled time, they did show up. They seemed to not know about previous bid in the beginning, but once discount was brought up, it reminded him he couldn't possibly honor it with the increase in labor and product costs! What a difference a March makes! Next he suggested rails for deck should be composite at an upcharge from redwood of $1000 for 35ft. But to take out the two nice built in benches from original bid, only $500 off...there's more wood there than entire railing, not to mention labor to incorporate! Final complaint comes from the fact the guy started with saying he had little knowledge of previous bid to saying he was the owner and obviously had all the info. Knowing we weren't going to get a deal I began questioning about how to design ramp to best help my mother in laws situation. Apparently decks come in kits that can't be modified ;). The "owner" I spoke with was actually unknowledgeable about the construction when I asked if I could brace the daunting task of adding a handicap bar! They were extremely considerate in saying they understand if we wanted to go with another company! And ultimately we will bc I'd rather pay someone more who doesn't try every trick in the book to shiest you, and will listen to your needs, not try and sell you on their high demand! There's a sucker born every day though, and I believe they prob do good work, so maybe it's my loss, or I'm gonna have to build the deck! read more

Rogall did an amazing job on my beautiful custom wood pocket doors that my terrier scratched up terribly. Nathan (sales, estimating) was incredibly responsive and proactive and Juan (the craftsman) did an absolutely beautiful job. You can't tell at all that they had been pretty destroyed. I was hesitant to use Rogall Painting, since they are a larger company and I generally prefer individual craftsman for home improvements. We had and independent painter give us a bid. He was unsure how long the job would take, balked at the many colors we wanted to use and took over a week to get us a bid. Nathan came out from Rogall to give us a second bid. He was very professional, showed up exactly on time and provided us with an exact estimate within 30 minutes of looking at the job. The bid was actually lower than the "independent", no problem with all the colors, etc. Jeremy and his crew did an excellent job and completed it in 5 days. There were a few areas that needed some attention upon completion of the job. The crew was out the next day an took care of everything. In fact, they re-did a few things I hadn't even noticed. Everyone we dealt with at Rogall Painting was very professional, returned e-mails or phone calls immediately, and clearly care about doing high quality work. As soon as we complete our bathroom remodel, we will have them out again to paint. read more
