My newly acquired vintage Steinway in its new habitat - love it!
    Vanda C.

I recently started playing the piano again because my son broke his arm, and I took over his lessons. We had bought a good practice piano from Roger's as an upgrade from a keyboard. Carol encouraged me to play all the pianos around our budget - used Yamahas as well as new instruments from other manufacturers, and we found a new, lovely toned upright with an action that fit us better than the more expensive used Yamahas. With their trade-in policy which credits the entire purchase price of any piano you buy from them toward the cost of any instrument over $10k you wish to buy, we were very comfortable with our purchase. Within a couple of years, both my son and I outgrew the first piano. "Claire de Lune" would introduce the sostenuto pedal to us, and our practice piano didn't have one. We were in the process of selling our house, and with the proceeds of the house - we were going to upgrade our piano. I dropped in and browsed 6ft+ grand pianos close to my price range, which with the trade-in, would include brand-new Yamaha baby grands as well as some very nice used instruments - Steinways among others. Again Carol pointed out instruments around my price range and just left me alone to play them. I fell in love with a Steinway grand piano that was just above my price range; new Yamahas, other Steinways I tried... nothing else equaled this piano for me in terms of action and sound. I explained that I wouldn't be able to buy it for another few months, and it was just a touch too expensive for me especially since we were in the process of buying and selling a home. A few weeks later Roger's had a sale, and Carol notified me via email that my piano was included in the sale; they could hold it with a deposit. I asked if my old piano could be used as a deposit; Carol agreed and assured me that they would hold the piano for the months required to sell my home. Three months later, I have a gorgeous rebuilt 1911 Steinway A Parlor Grand with a "near perfect original sound board" that is even better than when I put the deposit on it. Even though it was already sold, Roger continued to work on it making it even more beautiful in looks and sound than it was before. Tuning and repairs needed after delivery were quickly scheduled and were no cost to me. Roger said that Carol and he just wanted me to be happy with the purchase. I couldn't be happier... thank you!

Absolutely terrible experience with this place. Roger will quote you prices and then refuse to honor them. I do not recommend Rogers Piano.

An experience of high quality from start to finish. Having visited a number of show-rooms in…read moreseveral states on my piano search, I feel that Falcetti's provided excellent service that I cannot help but recommend to others. Here is why. *Pre-Purchase* The instruments in Falcetti Pianos showroom are in consistently excellent regulation, voicing and tuning (this consistency is not present in other showrooms I visited in various states). Making an appointment was easy and once there I was able to take my time with the instruments, alone in the showroom. On his own initiative, Conner even turned off the AC to create a listening environment to get to know each instrument's nuance. The opportunity to really LISTEN this way is itself worth the price of entry. I found the staff at Falcettis to be more like resources and less like sales-people: they gave me generous time and space to get to know the instruments without any sort of pressure. When I had questions, Conner and Jake were quite knowledgeable, and I feel I learned from them. *Purchase* When I found a pre-owned instrument with which I feel in love, I was offered the opportunity to place a fully refundable deposit to hold the instrument while I visited other showrooms and played other pianos. Again, no pressure. Once I was certain that this instrument was for me, Conner was extremely helpful not just in arranging the purchase but also in helping me source an artist bench at an incredible price, arranging to move my current instrument at no additional cost and arranging a tech to come and re-install a Dampp-Chaser humidity system (that we use as a sort of humidity insurance along with ambient humidification) at no additional cost. At each turn, I was met with generosity and a helpfulness that turned what could easily have become a cumbersome, complex process with many moving parts into something that was, simply, easy. *Move* The moving team communicated in a timely way, was timely (they completed their work ahead of schedule) and, again, made the entire operation easy. Omar, Falcetti's tech who came to reinstall the humidity system on the new instrument was excellent. Timely, did excellent work. A pleasure to work with him. Overall: I am so happy, and thankful, to start what I am certain will be a long-term relationship with Falcetti Pianos.

The price of the piano was acceptable by market standards. The purchase was a trade up and we were given a fair offer for our old piano. Last but not least, the staff is very pleasant to deal with. When the time comes to purchase a concert grand, this will be my first (and very likely the only) stop. Looking forward to that, because it will mean we're rolling in it.

Stopped by today to check out the inventory. We were immediately greeted by Anthony, one of the…read moreowners, who gave us his undivided attention. He was very personable, knowledgeable and professional. The showroom was large, bright, super clean, and full of beautiful pianos of all brands, shapes, and sizes. Parking was easy. Anthony was super nice and super helpful until, in the course of considering a ~1965 Steinway grand (model "S"?) for which he was asking $15K, we asked, politely, if our piano technician could examine the piano, which is best practice and absolutely mandatory if you are not a piano technician yourself. Dear Anthony recoiled, and, in an abrupt and rather impolite tone of voice, informed us that he didn't need our piano technician to tell him what is wrong with his piano (i.e. he knows what's wrong, but he is not about to tell us; I'm sure he did not realize the ironic truth in his statement) and made us feel very uncomfortable. That was not necessary and not appreciated. The visit became tense and uncomfortable after that. He clearly was not prepared to deal with or accommodate an informed customer looking for a used piano at a bargain price. He accurately judged (and condemned) us as "picky people", asking questions appropriate to the purchase of a $40K piano rather than the $15K piano under discussion (honest, accurate, abrupt, and impolite). He wisely told us that he would not sell us the used Steinway (saving both of us the pain of the virtually certain buyer's remorse). I appreciate his candor, but it would have been nicer if he had just told us to go check out the Boston piano at Steinerts... This is probably an excellent place for uninformed people to by a piano, but not for us. I thought that it couldn't hurt to visit the store, but it did. Update: For about the same money that he was asking for his burned-out Steinway, we were able to buy a NEW Boston (a brand of Steinway) baby grand, which we are VERY happy with. (Please see my review of Steinert).

I wanted to buy a guitar but have some problems with my shoulder and needed help selecting a size and style I could use comfortably. I got no help from the big box stores. I walked into Music Go Round and was immediately greeted by a friendly guy named Jeff. I explained my problem and Jeff showed me a variety of styles and sizes. When he saw how uncomfortable I was, he showed me how to hold the guitar like I was playing classical and it was a revelation. It took all the pressure off my shoulder. He brought me a variety of guitars without trying to upsell at all and I landed on a beautiful Alvarez Parlor size with all Mahagony top, sides and bottom. This guitar new at Guitar stores is selling for $1,100. I bought this slightly used guitar for 1/3 that cost. And, to top it off, the store has a wonderful dog walking around. So, if you want personal service, no pressure sales, and a great bargain on a great guitar--I would stop here. At least that was my experience.

I can't say they actively discourage me in any way. It's just that some of them have a hard time feigning interest. Maybe I'm just not a cool person. I dunno. Some other places have no trouble treating me like I matter, so perhaps it isn't just me. Perhaps I have been encountering an employee who doesn't like his job. Regardless, I keep coming in to see their incredibly good, constantly-rotating inventory. One time, I even sold an amp for them just by being myself, playing some pretty tunes on a nice little setup. A nice older gentleman walked up and complimented the sound I was getting then politely asked if he could buy the amp. We had a wonderful talk and then he bought it while I walked out the door. That made me feel GOOD. That experience has sustained me over a few of the more negative experiences with aforementioned aloof employee.
