Had an absolute blast camping here. You have to be careful where you decide to pick your campsite though. If you are a couple or looking for peace and quiet I would recommend campsite 168 or something like it (see map below). If you are a big group then definitely get some campsites that are more close together. Depending on where you camp, some of the campsites can be on top of each other...while where we were was relatively quiet and practically private so choose wisely (see map in photos below) PROS: --super friendly and helpful staff. --quiet campground. Sure in the distance you hear people talking and laughing around a campfire. But that's a far cry from some asshole blasting music all hours of the night or some campground DJ blasting music throughout the campground. No...There was none of that. Campground was nice and quiet. We stayed up till 3am every night just laughing and talking around our campfire and no one bothered us. --definitely a secure campsite. 24 hour entrance security. Front entrance staff is super friendly and they are also vigilant to make sure everyone had a sticker and/or pass to enter the campground. --Ice & wood truck comes by twice a day and you can buy wood or ice or worms or whatever you might need. Very convenient. --Close to the lake where you can go swimming or just sun bathe with no one bothering you. --bathrooms were the cleanest bathrooms I've ever seen at a campground. --bathrooms have electric outlets (which was a huge plus for charging my phone during my morning shower). --about 10 miles away from wal-mart in case you forget anything. --close to general stores. Also small driving distance to lake George and canoe rentals. --far away from the hustle and bustle of screaming kids and madness that is at lake George escape (which in my opinion is the Las Vegas strip of camping if you ask me). --clothesline at your campsite to hang up wet towels and clothes. CONS: --depending on where your campsite is...you might have to walk a little to get some water. --depending on where your campsite is...you might have to walk a little to use the bathroom. --no internet service at campground but if you drive about 15 minutes down the road you can make calls and get some internet for texts and email. But if you need high speed internet you need to drive at least 40 minutes down the road and even then it's kinda spotty. --depending on where you camp your campsite can be close to the route 9 road (see picture below). Which for a NYC fellas such as myself, it didn't bother me because the cars drive by sporadically in the day and even more sporadic at night. But for some people it might be a pain. Hope that helps. All in all we had a blast but a lot of that depended on meticulously choosing the best campsite for us. Good luck :)

Rogers Rock Campground is a rustic piece of heaven on earth. This is my "Hotel California". I can check out anytime I want but I can never leave. My soul actually sits up here and waits for me to return each year. I have come at least once every year of my life which currently stands at 57 consecutive years. If you want full hookups for your RV then go somewhere else, but if you want seasoned campsites nestled in ancient forests than you have come to the right place. If you come just to sit at the campsite then you will only be getting a part of the blessing that is Lake George. The Indians believed that the crystal clear water had magical powers and I for one would not argue that point. Taking your morning dip in the lake's cool water will keep you awake the rest of the day. Take the time to walk along the lake through the pristine forests and commune with God and nature in a way that is hard to find anywhere else. I understand that God is everywhere, but when you speak to him here you will feel like he is listening. Because if I were omnipotent then this is where I would be. But if you were intent on just coming and spending the weekend drinking beer find another campground.

The rest rooms and showers are clean and easily accessible, however, the motion lights are only on for a couple of minutes, so you have to move around if you want the lights to stay on. Also, kinda weird, but one of the showers in the men's room is coin-operated, but not the other shower. Come to find out the coin thing doesn't work, but you wouldn't know that because there's no sign to say so. It was fine, though, because the other shower was working with no problems. The pool is EXCELLENT and well-maintained. You can see that the owner takes great care of the pool, and given that the weather was quite hot and humid, the pool was a godsend! On the minus side, the office was always locked when I went there. You can call the owner's number, but that gets to be a pain. They mention a camp store, but I suppose that's in the office, which, of course, was locked. I just went into Brandon to buy what I needed which is only three miles from the campground. The owner charges for each bag of trash which he says is one of his biggest expenses, but I don't know why he just doesn't simply bake in the cost of trash in his rate to camp there. The biggest pain was the dumping station. For whatever reason, the dumping station is roped off with posts in the way so I couldn't drive my camper close to dump my black and grey water. I didn't have a long enough hose to reach, so what I had to do is use my black/grey water portable tank to dump from the camper and then dump in the dumping station. This delayed our departure by a good 45 minutes to an hour. All in all, though, I would recommend Country View Campground.

Maple Hill offers an in-expensive and convenient camping experience for those looking to go hiking or sight seeing in the Bristol/Waterbury area. The "downtown" of Bristol is a short drive away if you need to buy supplies or want a nice evening out for dinner and ice cream. They have both wooded and field sites you can get a nice spot right on the river. There is also a bathhouse with running water, showers, and flush toilets. I have never been so pleased with an experience of true human compassion and the people running this campground are what all humans should achieve to be. I know this review may be somewhat cryptic but might I just add: Make sure that you remember that the road for the campground is located across the street from the white house and not to find yourself going down a rocky dirt road in the dark, in a rainstorm, in the fog....Things may not end up well for you haha. Anyways, Martha is the best and thank God for AAA. Check in and registration is at the white house and campsites run about 25/night for non electric sites.

Great little campground!…read more We had a spot right over the brook and fell asleep to the sound of it babbling. Some of the wooded spots are definitely on the small side but they vary. The field sites are huge, and open... they don't offer the privacy but would be a fantastic place camp with a group and stargaze. Maybe the only time I have used a campground bathroom and not had to avoid the hordes of harvestmen/daddylong-legs. And the bathroom lights are solar powered! Super nice owner, low rates, very clean grounds. It's close to some neat swimming holes, hiking and mountain biking trails, as well.
