In 2016, I needed an auto lock system with a remote on my SCDOT 2007 Chevy Tradesman van. I dropped the van off and picked it up the next day. Everything seemed to be working as advertised. Latter, in April 2018 I wanted to install rear speakers in my van and this is when I found that whoever installed this remote locking system did not run new wires for the rear door nor for the side door of the van, but simply, to save time and money, they tapped into the live radio wires for the left rear and right rear speaker wires running from the van's radio which were still hooked up directly to the radio. Thus, evertime DC current was pulsed to either lock or unlock the van's rear and right-side doors, the factory radio's audio amp was being pulsed also. I was very lucky the factory Delco radio was not damaged! Secondly, when I pulled the rat's nest of wires and the auto lock system down from under the dash next to the stirring wheel, I found wires that, after the insulation was removed, were simply twisted together and wrapped with black electrical tape. Then the entire remote lock box with all the wires with their excessive lengths were all wrapped up together and stuffed up behind the dash into the van's wiring factory wiring! Since I install and repair two-way radios for the SCDOT, I cut out this entire mess that Rogers Stereo had made and installed it the right way; the way it should have been installed in the first place! Evidently, Roger's Stereo hires people off the street who have no idea of wiring safety and jobs are paid based on quantity billed out and sent out the door; not quality and care of the installation job. I had made the appointment a few weeks in advance but when she arrived she was informed that the person who did the window tinting had been out of work with a medical issue. Rogers Stereo has been my go to place for all of my audio and car alarm needs since 1995. Yes, I know it ages me, but 1995. Each time I've dealt with them, it's been a pleasurable experience. I visited their location on 8/4/2020 and I was amazed by the lack of effort the associate put into servicing my needs. #1- my current CD player stopped working. It's been about 5 years since they installed it and I know it's out of warranty, but I thought they could take a look at it for me and maybe wiggle it around to see if it would start working. No go. They don't do that, because "things go bad and they need to be replaced." I'm a realist and I understand that but you didn't even go out to my car to look at anything before drawing that conclusion. #2 - I told the guy I was thinking about upgrading to Bluetooth and asked him for pricing and he gave a figure of $299 and an additional installation fee. I was floored by that and let him know I was looking for the cheapest option available to put in a car that's not driven for about six months out of the year. He told me an option and I had to ASK him to show it to me. That took effort walking from behind the counter and walking to the corner where the displays are and actually pointing at the unit. He could get me out the door with unit and installation for $300. I thought about it and told him I was going to shop around. I don't mind spending $300 because I've spent much more with them in the past and I was happy to do so because of the level of service they provided during the sell. You don't have to jump through hoops to get my business, but you have to put in bare minimum effort. I went to Best Buy and bought a unit from a guy who played with the buttons and showed me some cool features. Effort! read more

Ok first off, I let this happen so shame on me. I received a gift card from my loving wife for Christmas. Without doing my research I went to Rogers Stereo on Woodruff Road to get a radio for my truck. They charged me around 500$ for radio, installation kit and steering wheel controls adapter. I was looking around this morning online for tips and instructions on the radio when I found everything I got there for $324.00 at a online retailer. I like to support local businesses but an experience like this is why more people are shopping online. They charged 150$ in labor, 100 for the radio and 50 for the steering wheel adapter which from what I can tell online took at most 5 minutes to plug in. Lesson learned. read more

Good heart but poor execution. They're too busy and miss things. Forgot to install a microphone as part of a new hands-free phone system. Did not put car trim back together well. Made mistakes on appointments. . .I had to come back 5 times for a 2 part job. It took a lot of patience and time. They did a fine job on my tint. I'm still not too happy with the hands free phone work. My trim is loose & speakers sometimes cut-out, but I've had enough and wont go back. read more

The quality of the work done on my car is about what I would expect had I paid my nephew to do it. Important note: my nephew knows nothing about car audio installation. When I asked to have them fix it, the gentleman from the back told me, "I have the same car and the same system; I've tried a dozen times to make it perfect. It will never be perfect." I'm now left with a crooked system and a console that is literally pulling apart and looks much worse than when I brought it in. So incredibly irritating. Find somewhere else to do your work. Please. Took my RV in for a new radio. We knew ahead of time which model we wanted. Asked the salesman some things about it, and he was able to show us how to turn it on. That was it. He also told us that Apple CarPlay would work with any app on our phone. He was completely wrong about that. We gave specific instructions to salesman about replacing the backup camera monitor, that if it had to be rewired, not to do it, to just put the radio where the current unit was installed. He called me that afternoon and said they were able to rewire everything and get it to work. So I asked why they had rewired it after we specifically said not to, and he said he thought we would be excited they were able to rig it and get it to work. Well it didn't work. The monitor came on sporadically and didn't work most of the time. The monitor, on average, took about 10 minutes most of the time to switch from radio to camera. That's not good when you need to check a tow vehicle immediately. The radio was worthless -- picked up one station while driving through Greensboro, NC. Navigation kept populating with icons no one could explain. Rogers' solution was to put in a new camera, with a power booster, and a new antenna -- after they said none of that would be needed. Finally told them to take it out and put it back like it was. When they did that, they just wired it to whatever they wanted to. Cut into some wires I had installed for power outlets instead of taking the time to do it back the way it was and to do it correctly. And they cut into some other wires too that was overloading circuits. One speaker doesn't work at all now. Made several attempts to contact the manager, but he won't respond. Made five trips to the place to get issues resolved and they never did. I was warned by a couple of people about using them, but I didn't listen. I hope you heed the warning. Two reasons I give them one star rating: They did give me a complete refund and that's the lowest rating I can go. read more

Avoid these crooks at all cost. Agree to drop 1300 dollars there for navigation, a backup camera, and window tinting. Set up an appointment, the day before the appointment the salesman (also a manager) called to tell me the manufacturer misquoted him and he would need 600 more dollars to do the install. I told him I expected him to honor his quote, he said he would see what he could do. Never heard back from him. I asked to speak to the owner. I talked to a lady today who said she was the owner got a totally different story as to what happened. She said she was sorry and I would agree the whole operation is sorry. It will cost me more elsewhere, but these crooks won't see a penny from me. read more

Rogers Stereo tried to rip me off . My remote starter in my truck wasn't working so I took it to them to see if they could fix it. They told me that it was too old to repair and I needed to purchase a new one, that would cost between $400 - $500 needless to say I didn't let them replace it and they charged me a $40 diagnostic fee. So, I felt that the problem was something simple because everything else on the remote worked except the truck wouldn't start with the remote starter. I then decided to take my truck to Masters Stereo for the same problem and they stated that the problem was a disconnected wire on the unit and that it looked like someone had removed it and all they did to repair the remote starter was hooked the wire up. My total charge for repair and labor was only $90. read more

I went here for a simple stereo installation. It went horribly wrong. Upon arriving, the skeezer named "Mike" told me to pull around back where I was met by a tweaker named "Rob." Rob then jumped in my car and said he'd do it for $40.00 cash on the spot and that he was going to keep it off the books. He then pulled out the stereo, after I told him "no." He then drilled two holes into the side of my vehicle's stereo mount, pushed with all his strength, broke the volume knob, and caused a CD to become jammed inside of a completely new stereo. When I questioned him, he said, "I been doing this sh*t for nineteen years!" Rob then became defensive and claimed I had water damage. He became visibly worried. I almost called the police right there on the spot. The entire time outside I observed people coming in and out of the tree line near the dumpster doing what appeared to be drugs, as I got my stereo and car damaged by irresponsible individuals out to make a quick dollar. Keep in mind, I have spent plenty of money with Roger's Stereo in the past, and things have usually been okay, though ALWAYS OVERPRICED. The incident was so bad I will never go back there. I firmly warn everyone...Things usually go well at Roger's Stereo, but if you have an issue, your concerns will fall upon deaf ears. If they mess up, business is good enough, that they will tell you to screw off. I spoke with one of/the owner of Roger's Stereo, named "Lonnie Bird." At first, he acted concerned and said he would check the security tapes and get back to me "right away." He couldn't even find the professionalism to return a phone call. When I spoke to him the second time, he said, "I'm sorry, I can't help you with your problem." He then hung up the phone. That' Roger's Stereo, ladies and gentlemen. Avoid this place at all cost. It took 3 1/2 hours to do a job that the salesperson assured us would take 1 hour. On the way home on freeway in rush hour traffic doing 65 mph the hood started to bounce up and down!! Seems that in the 3 1/2 hours it took to do the work no one thought to close the hood. I would've thought at least as the young man drove the car around front and opened the door for my wife to get in he would have wished us "Good luck, you'll need it." Been 1 day since work was done. Went to Roger's asking them for simple replacement speakers for my stock factory system. Sales manager showed me a set of nice $300 Focal speakers and told me he would send me a quote. I received an email quote for $2700 for 4 replacement sets of speakers. The quote include speakers that were $600 per pair instead of the $300 he showed me. An additional $400 to install the speakers and $640!!! to install Hushmat in the doors. I went to Masters and got the same thing for less than half the price. The Sales Manager never returned my call or email after I asked him to try to find a less expensive option. Very disappointed. read more

Took my brand new 2017 Ford Mustang to have front and rear deck speakers installed with an amplifier. I arrived at the agreed upon appointment at 9 am on a Saturday. At 3:30 p.m. that day, I received a call from an employee there that was confused about what type of work was supposed to be done on my car. So, I had to tell him what the order was and realized that my car had been sitting there for 7 and a half hours without any work being done to it! They did not seem to think it was a big deal and implied that I would have to leave my car with them over the weekend. I mean I do work a job. That's the whole point of scheduling on a Saturday. After they maybe had realized it would be an inconvenience for me to be without my car for three days, they decided to just change out the speakers that day and that I would have to bring it back the upcoming Monday to install the amp. So, I arranged for someone to follow me to Rogers Stereo to drop my car off and be taken to work. They promised me that the car would be ready around my lunch time between 2 and 3 pm. I told them if it would take longer to please let me know so I could take my lunch later. I get off at 7 p.m. which is well passed Rogers closing time. I did get a courtesy call and was told that the car would DEFINITELY be finished at 3 p.m. So, I informed my supervisor that I would take my lunch at 3:30 p.m. I arrived at Rogers at 3:45 pm and they still were not finished! They actually needed a few more hours. I was livid at this point. Why did I not get another call about the progress of the work? The Rogers employees once again did not seem to think this was a big deal and showed no empathy about my situation. They thought by offering to drive MY car to my place of employment would be doing me a great favor and settle their mishaps. They claimed to have given me a discount for the inconvenience but it was over a hundred dollars more than what I was quoted. The install looked great but the speakers make a lot of vibrating noise. They were supposed to have install sound dampening material but, they did not do a great job with that. One speaker is quiet, one make's minimal noise, one make's a moderate amount of noise, and one make's a ton of noise. This limits how much I can turn my amplifier up and overall volume. I did not want to go back to Rogers to have them fix the issue because of the awful experience but I was convinced by friends and another car stereo shop to have Rogers fix the issue. I dreadfully took my car back to Rogers and told them what was going on. One of the employees, John, actually took the time out to come and listen what was going on. He said that he knew exactly what was wrong with it and would get it taken care of. I also showed him my receipt and proved that I was still under the 90 day warranty. I get a call later that day while at work and was told a different story about the speaker issues. John said that the noisiest speaker is actually "busted on the bottom part" and that the problem is that they do not have the exact speaker to replace in stock. He stated that they do have the exact one from display that he could sell me for $100. I went along with the offer because I was at work and just wanted the problem to finally be taken care of. I get down to Rogers stereo on my lunch break again and was ensured by John that the problem is taken care of. He said that it sounds much different than it was when I brought it to him that morning. He said it was like "night and day." Well, that was a lie. The speakers sound just as bad as they did before. Also, the passenger door is loose one end and a couple of screws were not replaced in that door. I found one of the screws. I paid $845 just to have maybe damaged passenger door and speakers poorly installed. This is has been the worst customer experience ever and I can not understand how a place like this is in business. read more

I had trouble with my XM radio long after the warranty expired. Went back to Roger's Stereo and Jim Burns took care of the problem quickly and I didn't get a bill for the repair (which was a simple fix). It was a very pleasant surprise in an era or companies who seem to bill you for everything! Now that's customer service you can count on! read more

I was not happy with the service I received. The day I had my Optima done I got home and noticed there was dirt trapped under the tint and there was missing areas that needed to be smoothed out in the back passenger side window that tint didn't cover and you could see it from the outside. immediately called back and spoke with someone and Was told to bring It back to be Looked at .My husband took it back the next day and they fixed the back window and said we'll give it a week for the passenger window. Dirt is not going to go away.!!! I wasted time and gas to be turned away for something that should of been fixed immediately. I had my Chrysler done a few months prior and when I put my window down last week there was a Small tear. The tear was under the rubber seal so I would have to of had the window down and something hard had to of hit it to tear tint. I would recall something like that and I would take responsibility for it but I rarely drive the vehicle and I find it highly unlikely that I did this. It was probably something trapped under the tint and when I put the window down it probably got caught when the window was put down. Needless to say they wouldn't fix that so I will be going elsewhere. The window tint was redone on the optima and dirt is under It again!!! Out of every vehicle I have ever owned I've had tinted windows and never had problems like this. They obviously are not in a clean enough environment to apply tint. This is the worst stereo company in the area. They have totally screwed up the installation in my truck (to the tune of $1600) and refuse to fix it. Beware this unethical company. Problems with Kenwood DNX 890HD stereo Rogers Stereo installed. Left front channel is dead GPS locks up, will not connect to gps antenna. Must pull over, stop, shut the truck off and open a door so it'll reboot. Steering wheel controls sometimes switch stations, sometimes fast forward and reverse, a mystery as to which will happen when the buttons are pushed. Bad connection to the backup camera due to rogers stereo's installer cutting and splicing the wire when he installed it. I believe he did this because he did not have the proper adaptor. With the Samsung Galaxy S5 the kenwood connection to the stereo via Bluetooth is sketchy at best. When it does connect it has these problems The left front channel is dead as well as the rear channels and sub. So when on Bluetooth media or Pandora only the right front speaker works. Handsfree Phone bluetooth does not work with sync and the sync mic so Rogers Stereo installer mounted an additional mic at the windshield, now all anyone hears is wind noise. Handsfree is useless. Iheart radio does not work Aha radio does not work Ipod will not connect, usb connection shows it's connecting, but it will not play. Iphone 3GS will not connect phone or media. Shows it's connected, but will not play. Dimmer does not work with the truck. Must manually change the brightness. Worse yet there's no way to darken the screen so you have to drive with a t-shirt draped over the dash at night. Sirrus sometimes stops working. It's tuned to a station, all indications are that it's working, but no music comes out, must change the station and change it back to get it working. Basically, only thing that works is SirrusXM and that only works on 3 speakers and for some strange reason, you aren't allowed to get howard stern on this model of receiver. read more

DO NOT ALLOW THEM TO INSTALL AN INTERIOR. I wish I could say "buyer beware" but in this case I write this review as more of an urgent consumer alert for the Upstate SC area. The Greenville SC location assured me on December 4th 2015 that they would be able to install a brand new Katzkin leather interior into my 2003 Z71 Tahoe. The truck is in great shape and this install was to replace my factory leather which had started to fade over time with UV exposure. Jim Burns is the Sales Manager that I dealt with him directly and he promised my truck out in two days. On Saturday December 5th I called the location and spoke with Jim Burns to get an update. Jim Burns stated that the installer had destroyed the new second row passenger seat upholstery while trying to install it and the rest of the interior is finished. I asked to pick my truck up that afternoon and to leave them the seat to finish because I had a short trip the next day on Sunday. My truck was in horrible condition when I arrived to pick it up that afternoon. My driver's seat belt was not tightened, loose plastic trim panels, loose arm rests on 3 seats, and a head rest in the second row was jammed on backwards. Jim Burns acted like he had no knowledge and did not inspect my truck before releasing it to me. I spoke with Jim Burns prior to leaving and he assured my interior would be correct when I dropped it off on Monday December 7th. Rogers Stereo had my truck for another two days and did not fix anything. They merely installed the second row seat they had damaged and assured me the truck was complete. My only option was to let Jim Burns keep my deposit of $680 and I had to contact the regional Katzkin Leather executive. I also asked to speak with the owner, Frank Rogers on this day, of which Jim Burns repeatedly verbally side stepped my request. I resorted to having a family member call another Rogers Stereo location to get the contact info for Frank Rogers. I travel with my job and had to leave the area. Katzkin referred me to another installer in the FL area of where I am working. They inspected my truck and found the following with the install from Rogers Stereo: They did not replace driver's side seat cushion as requested (they charged me for it), leather kit was jammed on both second row seats in reverse (left was on right, right on left) and stapled numerous times, arm rests installed on wrong seats and upside down, loose seat belts, various missing hardware, heated seat elements were cut by a knife and reinstalled, and many damaged plastic panels which took weeks to find through the Chevy dealership system. Upon speaking with Frank Rogers he admitted that his sales staff at the Greenville SC location lied to me and that he knew he did not have any competent Katzkin Leather installers to complete the job while my truck was in his shop. Frank Rogers seemed understanding of my cause and allowed me to contact him with any further issues via his cell phone. The shop in FL had to replace 90% of the first, second, and third row seats with parts of the new Katzkin Leather having to be replaced after the failed install from Rogers Stereo. Katzkin and Frank Rogers agreed to repair my truck to my satisfaction. In the end it took 60 days to finish the interior on my truck due to shipping time of parts and finding repeat damage from Rogers Stereo. This transaction was finally complete on February 11th, 2016. I called and spoke to Frank Rogers for final payment as agreed. He passed the phone to Jim Burns who was quick to accept my payment info and immediately got off the phone with me without concern for my truck or apology for his lack of integrity and customer service. Ending total for this "install" was $1,360 minus the cost of a plastic trim panel they damaged and I have yet to locate a replacement. I still keep the photos of my damaged truck as a reminder to thoroughly investigate where I decide to spend my hard earned money. Cannot recommend for service, sales, or installs of any kind. read more

I was there about 2 years ago and had an isimple cord installed to play music from my phone in my car. About 2 months ago the sound started going in and out when the cord was moved. I'm no mechanic but if something works when you hold it still and stops working when the wire is shifted, something is wrong with the connection not the cord. I stopped in to see if they would tighten up the connection. I was told it would be $40 minimum just for them to check to see what the problem was and I probably needed to buy new hardware. My initial experience was ok, nothing to shout about, just don't expect them to stand behind their workmanship. Apparently they do their connections with scotch tape and when that gives way, your out of luck. I would expect more than 2 years out of "quality" workmanship. read more

Th low down of it was I had an excellent experience. I knew in my mind that I wanted window tints and I was mapping places out for prices and quality materials. I went to iTint, Eclipse tinting, and a few others places however when I went to Rogers Stereo and I was greeted with a hello and what can I help you with made a great first impact on why I knew they would be the ones for the job. I knew what I wanted which was 20% window tint on the back windshield, front and back windows and a 5% on the AS1 line. I asked for a price and it as fair, I made an appointment and that was set. I got to my appointment on time (10:50 for an 11:00) and when I walked in I was helped immediately and was told that the shop was running a little behind. I sat outside and waited for one of the guys to get my car and they didn't get it until 11:30or so which was fine cause I knew it would take about an hour and then some to do my tint. After they took my car back I went to their waiting room which was very nice, a really large and comfy couch, Keuireg and free coffee, pretty cheap vending food and a nice tv with charter. They did have WiFi but I didn't ask for the code though. After about 40mins or so one of the guys from the shop had asked me something about what I wanted, me being confused, he took me back to the shop and let me see my car while it was being worked on which is always nice. We cleared the problem and about 20-25 mins later they were done, I was called to the front, payed them, told what to with the curing process of the tint, and informed about the lifetime warrenty it came with. I walked out with a huge smile on my face and I'm still smiling now thinking about how good a job, and how nice my car looks with Rogers Stereo's tint. I am extremely happy with it and recommend them highly for tinting and quality customer service. read more
