Well, an update to my previous review: "Changes" have been occurring currently at Superior and now…read moreit looks like Superior on Cardley is now the '"ugly step child" resulting from the latest consolidation of several gyms. With all these "changes" I see various new employees (or employees I haven't seen before) and I have noticed a marked reduction in member activity on the work out floor. One of the "casualties" of these new "changes" is as always, janitorial. This a.m I had to work hard cleaning not one but TWO toilets because they looked atrocious (soiled; dried fecal matter). I didn't have any cleaning supplies so I had to use soap and paper towels to try and clean the fecal matter before I could use it. This was NOT recent; you could tell it had simply not been cleaned in quite awhile. I inquired at the desk and found out the usual janitorial crew that would come in after the gym closed at night was no longer there and that duties have been assigned to existing employees (the attendant didn't exactly say that but who else is going to be doing janitorial besides them??!!!). That means: those employees may not want to do janitorial so they will do what they can get away with and leave it at that. I was informed that they do a "deep cleaning" scheduled at 2:30pm. I informed the (new) attendant that the toilet would most likely have not been cleaned (after I cleaned it at 6:00am) until that time. That leaves a long time for a toilet not being able to be used. I have seen this happen several times over the years: "changes" occur and the first to go is the janitorial crew and you take pot luck afterwards. Gyms MUST be cleaned and disinfected. (by the way, I saw the attendant at the front desk mopping the lobby floor ...WHY? ...because it looked like HECK!!)...This is NOT the great superior fitness gym that I went on and on about previously. I will continue to monitor this situation......

Most aerobic machines come with a TV on it and there are also a couple of flat screens mounted around the bottom floor. On the second floor (more of a loft) you will find the spin bikes and a rower as well as a few other pieces of equipment. They do a couple of classes here that are included in the membership - spin, boot camp, and yoga - most of which are early in the morning (think 5:30 or 6:15 am). There are 3 spacious bathrooms, all of which have showers and one of which includes a sauna. The free weight area is smallish but has all of the equipment you need to get a god workout. My only real complaints about the gym is about the music. They have today hit's (i.e. to same 15 songs) blasting at all hours of the day, which makes it hard if you didn't bring your headphone and don't like Katy Perry, Kanye West, or Bruno Mars. Even if you do have headphones, you probably won't be able to hear whatever you were hoping to because it's pretty loud. Other than that, it would be nice if there were so more class options for those of us that can't bare the thought of getting out of bed at the crack of dawn.
