Roy at PawPaw is truly amazing and the only person I trust. I came home to a beautiful, clean and better dog than when I left!! It's like she remembers her early training again-- she sits on command, is quiet on command (now HOW did you do that??!!) and is just perfect!! Holy cow!! Roy sends pictures and videos every day so you know that she is safe and happy. I loved seeing her "tucked in" at night with the other pups. Finding a local groomer became one of the many challenges for me. Based on the reviews, I chose this groomer. They are located at the west end of downtown CV. Walking in the store front, it has a very homey friendly country feel. They do not put dogs in crates. My dog has great separation anxiety so not being confined in a crate is a great relief. My appointment made via phone, requires a $50 deposit. My morning appointment, my dog was immediately taken in the back after grooming requirements were collected. Again, being a first time owner, they walk me through steps. A ninety minutes expectation was given for their work and they would text me to pick up. Upon my return, I was walk through grooming tips and tools (Coombs and brushes, and other products). I appreciate the advice. Since my dog's hair was knotted, he was trimmed very close. They were prepared to scheduled the next appointment but I held off so I can reflect on the overall experience. My dog was appeared fine from this experience though the trim could be more even throughout. Luckily the fur will grow back and no one will know the difference. I was sent a link to schedule appointments online. Overall I hit a very favorable impression with the store front and friendly staff. I definitely will schedule future grooming appointments.

My dog can get feisty and hates getting groomed but somehow Becky magically gets him beautiful every single time. With other groomers I've been to previously, I would always find stray patches of uncut hair, question whether they brushed his teeth, cleaned his ears or expressed his anal glands. But with Becky, I have no question that she is completely 100% thorough and pays attention to every detail. I am also confident she uses top of the line products since he smells wonderful and his fur feels amazingly soft afterwards. Another perk is Becky is mobile so she can come meet you. I meet her in the San Mateo area even though she is based out of Union City. My dog's grooming cost more than my own haircuts but it is absolutely worth every penny.
