I love libraries. Always have, always will…read more But university libraries? Typically a different story. They never feel too warm or welcoming. Often times, they look and feel and smell old, and stale. In short, I am loathe to spend much time in them. Not so with the SSU Library. For starters, it's a newer facade than most university libraries, with modern and practical furnishings inside. It's not so big that I get lost in it. And it accommodates all kinds of people - ranging from individuals or small groups of people, to larger groups and even classes looking for a place to meet. The first floor is good for group projects, collaborative homework assignments, or just hanging out with friends. The second floor is where I go when I want to work on less demanding assignments, or chat with a partner about something. And the third floor is perfect for writing seminar papers, because the quiet policy is adhered to and makes it a good environment for concentration. And with flexible hours (open every day, and until midnight on week nights) it's always open when I need it to be.

Fantastic library for a university, has desk top computers available for students to use, although…read moreupstairs staff are not very helpful. Did not help my daughter get a laptop to use for school even though they were available. I happened to fall down the stairs but that was on me. Floors were very clean so the fall wasn't that bad. Professionalism was available on the first floor and was given immediate help. There were many resources available to students, just wish they had given my daughter a computer to use during COVID. Very modern and clean library, lots of space for students to study and spend time in there. Nice outdoor clock as well.

On a Monday came from San Francisco for a pool visit with family and friends and had a wonderful…read moretime. Very easy, no fuss. We had a poolside bed. Large enough for four or five people. The pool was a perfect temp. Mango margaritas and other beverages hit the spot. The food menu poolside could be a little larger given what is available at the food court but overall, a really good time. Also, as a person with Cerebral Palsy, on crutches, I found the area around the pool to be exceptionally walkable, not slippery at all. Bathroom was spacious and generally the entire area is easily accessible. We'll be back

This review is intended for Front Desk Guest Services and the manager, Miles…read more I had a very disappointing experience during my stay. Shortly after checking into my room, both my daughter and I were repeatedly bitten by mosquitoes, making it extremely uncomfortable to relax or sleep. I immediately contacted the front desk to report the issue. I was told to catch and kill the mosquito myself and that, although the hotel was fully booked, the manager would come up to assist. Unfortunately, despite multiple follow-up calls, no one ever came to address the problem. After waiting over 30 minutes with no response, it became clear that the situation was not being taken seriously. The lack of urgency and follow-through from both the front desk staff and the manager was frustrating and unacceptable. Even if a room change was not immediately available, I expected some form of assistance or at least basic customer care. What made matters worse, the manager later stated that there were available rooms but that I could not be moved because there was no one available to clean them. This explanation did not make sense--especially considering that my current room had a clear hygiene issue. Refusing to relocate a guest under those conditions reflects poor judgment and a lack of proper service. Additionally, there was a separate incident involving the event ticket center, the front desk staff, and the same manager, Miles. When I went to pick up my tickets at the event ticket center, I was redirected to the front desk. From there, I was sent back again, with front desk staff blaming and badmouthing the casino host employees. When Miles came to the front desk, he was cold and dismissive, simply stating that they did not have the tickets and effectively sending me away. It was highly unprofessional to witness staff openly badmouthing their peers and sharing internal conflicts in front of guests. Customers should never be put in the middle of internal miscommunication. Overall, the experience was disappointing. The manager, Miles, showed a lack of customer service--no apology, no urgency, and no effort to resolve the issue. I hope management takes these concerns seriously and improves both service response and internal communication moving forward.
