Before I hired the company, Steve, along with manager Manuel Amarillo, were very generous with their time and provided me with a variety of products and quotes. In fact, the "leading brand" window company that I had previously conducted business with now "requires" two homeowners for a window quote. Really? What a demeaning tactic. Anyway, I made the right decision by hiring Window Depot. From start to finish, Manny communicated with me every step of the way and showed up at the exact time promised and handled the job efficiently with a smile on his face. The team also includes Louis, Jeffrey and Pedro. EVERYONE on the team is friendly, professional, honest and accommodating in every way. Window Depot's windows are USA-made, energy-efficient and come in a variety of timeless styles and designs. Interestingly, after a relatively long wait, the factory delivered a defective window, but it was replaced almost immediately by the factory. They really are a five-star company. (I removed a half of a star because we had a garbage pickup issue that was finally resolved!) I was told not to worry and that their top installer with over 20 years of experience would be handling. I agreed to move forward based on that promise. On the day of the install, someone completely different showed up. This person hadn't taken the original measurements and clearly wasn't the experienced installer I had been promised. That's when the problems started. First, they didn't bring any framing lumber and had to ask the contractor working on my siding if he had any pressure-treated wood to spare. Then they ripped off my interior trim but had nothing to replace it with. When I asked about it, the installer just shrugged and said they didn't send any with him. Worst of all, one of the doors drags on the floor and the other doesn't latch properly. When I asked if he could fix them, he said no and seemed completely unsure of what to do. I contacted the store and they sent out a field rep to take a look. He agreed that the doors weren't working properly but brushed it off by saying nothing is perfect and that it's just construction. Another rep told me the doors just need to settle, which isn't an acceptable explanation. They later proposed doing something called a "recovery installation," which meant sending the same technician back to try to fix the job he had already done poorly. I refused, because at this point I no longer trust them to make things right--and I'm concerned they'll only make things worse. The installer left my home knowing the doors weren't working properly, and that tells me everything I need to know. Looking back, I should have gotten my deposit back and paid more attention to the negative reviews Pella CTNY has. For the price I paid, this entire experience has been a huge letdown. I have basic Home Depot doors that work better than these. I regret going with Pella and wouldn't recommend them to anyone.
