Honestly, if I read all the reviews first, I would have been hesitant about hiring them. In my case, my not reading the Yelp reviews helped, so we based our judgement on how each person at Power Home Remodeling conducted themselves. A door-knocker stopped by as the sun was setting on a very cold night. We invited him in and he arranged for the salesman to come for a visit on a different night. As the other reviews said, he wanted both the husband and wife home. With something as important as a roof, I could understand how that would avoid marital discord later on if one person made the decision and the other did not agree on something as important as the color of the shingles and such. So the door-knocker was very honest and easy to talk to. I did not sense any pressure from him, although he obviously would have liked us to sign up for an estimate. A day or two later, the salesman came and we liked him so much we didn't want to see him leave! He covered all his points, but again, we did not feel under any pressure to make a decision. I also learned a few things about the roof and shingles I did not know before. He had samples of some Power Home roofing products that I thought were clever and set them apart from other roofing companies: things like the bottom row of shingles having three layers of holes to increase the air flow near the soffitt, and the layer of a material they lay on top of the roof uuwood before anything else goes on. The guy came to take final measurements and told me when they were planning on delivering the materials and a dumpster. We agreed on the location for this stuff. We are in the middle of the snow season, so it was understood that their work crew would be at the mercy of the weather and so the schedule might change. I snow-blowed paths for the workmen to walk around the perimeter of the house, as well as places for the dumpster and materials. Like clockwork, the materials and dumpster arrived on the day they were supposed to. The next day was followed with two vans full of workmen. I do not think the temperature got into two digits that day, but they worked steady and hard. It took them two very full days to do our roof, including stripping off the two layers of old shingles and replacing any questionable wood. They hung two and three story drop cloths to deflect the old shingles and nails from hitting the house and foundation plants. It also helped keep the debris concentrates in one area, so it was easier for them to pick everything up. The interwove the shingles where the porch roof met the main roof of the house. This area previously just had one single layer of black tar paper and was always a problem with cracks forming and water coming into the house. I would get up on the roof and tar the cracks, but they always formed again after each winter, i am very glad they did it the right way so I don't have to worry about that anymore. The workers worked like bees, each knowing what they should be doing at any given time. They were constantly busy. We thought the supervisor was going to come for a final inspection, but another fellow came. He was some kind of a supervisor, but not the fellow we previously met. That was the only surprise we had in the entire process. It was dark by the time the crew finished. When I went out in the morning I found a few nails and shingle pieces, but considering the mountains of material they hauled to the dumpster, (and it was a very dark winter's night), I don't know too many humans who could have worked outside in single-digit temperatures like they did. I kept bringing them coffee and tea to warm their hands with the mugs. I sure hope that crew was paid well, because they deserve it. The roof is about three months old now. We've had two heavy snowstorms and some heavy downpours of freezing rain. The weather has been severe enough to take down lots of branches and entire trees, but we have had no roof problems at all. So far, the experience we have had with Power Home Construction has been great. If I were grading them, I would give them "A". read more

BEWARE! This company targeted, preyed on and then took advantage of my 83 year old mother who is in the early stages of dementia and swindled her out of close to 30,000 dollars. They came to the house to offer her a free estimate. She told them that her son, (me) lived with her but was at work during the day. They made sure to set the return appointment for a weekday morning when she would be alone. They came into her house, went up into her attic and then sat and socialized with her for a number of hours before putting a contract in front of her to sign for a new 21,000 dollar roof. My mother had just spent 5,000 dollars three months before to fix part of the roof but they told her she needed this done. My mother was confused and worried about the safety of the house, but informed the sales rep that her son Tony had power of attorney and that she would need to speak with him. They convinced her somehow that she could sign it without consulting him. They then had her sign a contract to take out a loan to install a 21,000 dollar roof on her home. They focused on how much the payment would be each month as opposed to the total cost and length of the financing and my mother, in her dimished state, did not even realize what she was agreeing to pay. On top of that, they signed her up for a financing plan and line of credit that she will be paying for until she is 93 years old, assuming she lives that long. My mother is very easily confused and had no idea she was signing to take out a 10 year loan and enter into a financing plan that added another 7 thousand dollars to the price bringing the total to just under $29,000. I witnessed the predatory and aggressive and deceptive sales tactics this company applies to the elderly first hand. Two days after the Power Home Remodeling performed the work on the house, I was visiting my mother and she told me that someone had worked on the roof earlier in the week and the company was sending a "Quality Assurance" manager to come and inspect the work to ensure that everything was satisfactory. I was there when the guy arrived and I let him in and he went upstairs to speak with my mother. I had a friend there as well and realized after a while that the man had been upstairs for well over two hours. When I went up he was showing my mother pictures of his kids and drinking coffee and laughing with my mom, ingratiating himself to her. It was at that moment that I saw the invoice for 21,000 for the work they had performed earlier in the week. I also saw that he had a new contract drawn up with pricing on it for an additional 17,000 dollars of work that he was explaining would only add a small amount to the monthly premium she now had to pay on the loan they initially got her to take out. When I realized what was happening I told the Power Home Remodeling rep that we were not going to sign anything else today and were all set. He then went through a series of stalling tactics saying things like, "Ok, but let me just ask you why, explain it to me." or, "Ok, I just need to ask you these questions before I leave." He had already been there for over 3 and a half hours at that point and he only left after I bluntly told him that he needed to get out of the house. I have no doubt if I was not there my mother's diminished mental state combined with his relentlessness and the emotional manipulation tactics he used such as sharing pictures of his young children with her and laughing etc., he would have signed her up for another 17,000 dollars worth of work. This company is predatory and targets seniors and someone like my mother who is in early stages of dementia was the perfect target. read more

I had 14 windows replaced and some of the wood around the window were rotted according to the agreement they were supposed to replace the rotten wood and they didn't. When I went to tell them the wood is rotten instead of addressing the issue they tell me to leave the working area. They installed many windows in rotted wood. Power employees came to replace the windows at 8 am and at 1:30 pm they already just wanted to go home. Two of the window screens were warped, they tried to fix them to no avail but they tell us not to push on the screens. We didn't push the screens but even if we had the screen should not get warped the way it was. I was unable to inspect many of the windows because now while I was talking to the project manager (on the phone) they were just trying to replace the windows quickly to cover up the rotten wood. They are sneaky and should not be trusted. The "project manager" said he will come to my house "if he can" to address my concerns and he never showed up. I am not comfortable with Power and their unprofessional and offending behavior of their employees. I was never involved with such disrespectful people, I went outside to inspect some of the windows no one was speaking when I came out they started speaking and cursing in Spanish using words like "puta". And one of them spit (a nasty gooey spit) on my walkway while walking by me like he was spitting at me. Then one of them asked me were I was from (I guess maybe to see if I understood what they were saying) then when I told him were I migrated from he started laughing. I didn't understand what was so funny. Furthermore this is nothing considering what has already happed, under one of the windows there were shrubs which they destroyed (I'm including this because I feel that this was intentional). Don't buy into it when they tell you that you're going to have a "project manager" he will handle what ever you need, my project manager didn't even show up after I called him to address any of my concerns. I wish I read some of the comments on BBB and or Yelp before going with this shady company. Do not let this company come in your home. Do not work with this company. Beware wary of this shady company. I will never use this company again. I hope and PRAY that nothing goes wrong with the windows that they installed because I cannot have this disgraceful company named Power Home Remodeling Group LLC back in my home. This company is pushy, and cannot read a very clearly printed sign stuck to my door saying not to knock between certain hours. I work from home doing home childcare. It is on my door that we nap between 12 and 2 and NOT to knock then or if my curtains are closed. EVERY summer this company both rings the bell AND opens the screen door to pound on my inner door and its ALWAYS during the specific times listed NOT to knock! Anyone who has kids knows getting multiple children on a nap schedule together isn't easy and getting an entire group settled after being awoken by both a doorbell AND pounding on my door on top of me having to jump over these once sleeping children to get them to stop repeatedly ringing and knocking and explain to them exactly what DO NOT KNOCK OR RING THE BELL means! Last summer these clowns rang the bell twice in the same day within 5 minutes of each other and then AGAIN the following day. My first complaint about this company was back in 2014 when I decided to give them a chance and hear them out. I ended up being very sick on the day our meeting was scheduled. we listened for a few mintues.. told the man to get to the point and tell us a price. 45 minutes later he finally gave a price and we laughed in his face. the cost for just windows was more than what we paid for the whole house! we said no, he continued and would not leave the house until I had to get nasty and tell him to get out or I would call the cops. Here we are in 2019 STILL being harassed by this company despite calling the police multiple times, posting no soliciting signs on my door, calling the company and telling them to leave us alone AND screaming at these idiots when they STILL show up banging on my door. this company is a damn joke and I would never use them simply because of the stupidity and inconsiderate illiterate people that work for them! the sign on my door has been adjusted to say "NO SOLICITIG!! We are on our second major job with the Power Home Remodeling group. The first job was siding of our entire house + a new front door. We spent over $80K so it was a very large job! First of all the service was outstanding! Tyrone was our salesman and he was the picture of patience going waaaay above and beyond on every single detail and on every single decision with us. He worked the numbers to give us the best deal possible and promised we would not be disappointed. Guess what, he was right!! The pre-inspection guys (Ray and all of the Johns - they have several and joke that they do that to make it easy for us to remember) were also all outstanding and extremely professional. The Project Manager (John) on the siding was also outstanding working through all of my questions and concerns. The crew that installed the siding were top notch professionals. They knew what they were doing and they did an immaculately perfect installation. I could not have asked for a better crew. Our second job is just beginning and once again the sales process with Matt was outstanding. Ray was back to do the pre-inspection again with another colleague named John (yes you guessed it correctly). Today Igor is here with his assistant working at an incredible pace replacing 19 Windows and one sliding glass door. I tell you that once again they are doing a professional job. I was concerned about the trim that was already beautifully installed. No problem they solved for that too. I'm not certain I would do work on my house through anyone else! Pity they don't do garage doors otherwise they'd do that for me too. I also had the pleasure of stepping through everything with the Project Manager John and with the Quality Assurance Manager John. Poor quality product, do not honor there warranty, and also dishonest when dealing with there customers and show little concerns for issues caused by there shoddy product and poor installation job. i spent over $33k on doors and 22 windows, after a few months i noticed water coming in through the new bay window installed, I called in May 2023 to report and they were not able to send someone until October. They re-caulked window and were adamant this would solve the problem. The window leaked worse after that, coming from underneith the window seat as well as in both corners ruining my sheetrock and floor with every rainstorm, i called back they were next available Dec 28th. service man Danny said they can re-caulk window, but I explained I can not take any chances and would prefer a new window as he could see water was pouring in from undernetih and at the top. he said okay he would put in for warranty claim to replace window and some one would call me back tomorrow. After 3 weeks of no contact I called back and they said that the was denied and I refused service which was a a complete lie, no body contacted me to tell me the warranty claim was denied. They said they could next send some one in May to service again. i explained I cannot wait that long as my home is being destroyed by the water, she said there is nothing they can do, when I asked to speak with a manger she said she would pass my info to a supervisor who may or may not call me back. Highly shady company with inferior product, who do not stand by there warranty or product and treat there good customers like dirt. I will likely have to replace the garbage window on my own now to avoid further damages to my home and try to recoup damages. Avoid this company like the plague!! read more

I am impressed with this company, especially after vetting others and being the daughter of a carpenter (the quality of craftsmanship has lived up to my father's expectations!). I'd bet a home cooked meal that you too will find their staff helpful, approachable, earnest yet down-to-earth, and clear, concise communicators. They will return your call in a timely manner. They will help you get the most "bang for your buck" and work within your price range. Their life-time warranty gave me peace of mind and proved that they stand behind their work. Plus, if I sell my home, this warranty transfers to the next home owner! PHRG is a large, thriving company (they continue to spread across the US!), so they can offer competitive OR lower prices. We had extensive work done: a new roof/gutters, new vinyl siding, a dozen windows replaced, and the base of our home will now look like it is a stone foundation. My child's wish of having a blue and yellow house has come true! Our multi-generational family appreciated how the PHRG reps sat down with us for hours at a time to thoroughly review our home's measurements, our options, and prices. I find it humorous that every negative review of Power is from people who didn't purchase anything! In order to review a contractors work you would think actually purchasing the work would be a requirement no? My wife and I purchased a 2600sq ft roofing system with soffit ventilation/capping, fascia capping as well as attic insulation and 6k gutters. Did the presentation take longer than other contractors? Yes it did but I understood every part of the system I purchased prior to it being installed. My wife isn't a roofer and she could easily walk you thru each component of our purchase now. Our energy bills are lower as a result, the home looks great, gutters don't clog anymore and the homes value has increased according to several real estate agents. Did I mention every part of what we purchased has a lifetime warranty on labor and materials that's transferable if I ever sell the home? We had a tree fall during a storm and it hit the gutters/fascia/soffit and power came out and fixed it for free. No need to go thru h/o insurance or anything. One phone call and they were out within 3 days to handle it, it would have been 1 day if I wasn't so busy at the time but I wanted to be present for their visit. If you actually care about protecting your biggest investment (your home) these are the go to guys. You can't review a company you've never done business with LOL read more

A Customer Care rep, Garrett, stopped by my home on 11/2/22 and asked me if I would be interested in getting new windows. I honestly was not interested in doing any more upgrades to my home since I just completed some other home remodeling work. However, he was kind and said the quote was free and lasted for a year. I figured I would meet with the remodeling team to get an estimate so I could budget for the work next year. 2 days later, Donny came to inspect my home and do the presentation on what was needed. I was pretty impressed with the presentation and the customer care touch points. They did give me a quote to do the work within a year but of course if I decided to do it sooner I would get a better rate. Nice sales pitch. I went for it. Honestly, it wasn't just the thorough presentation and discount that made me decide to do the work sooner. They found black mold on my windows which, is no good, so I knew I couldn't wait any longer. One of the best things about this company was their attention to detail and doing exactly what they said they were going to do. My new windows were installed on 12/6, about a month later. Excellent experience. The sales representative spent six hours at our house, BUT Kristin was super friendly, informative and NOT pushy...and our dogs liked her, so we weren't wary. We already knew we needed our roof repaired when we had her come in because we had a roofer come in previously and tell us. So, when she explained in detail what was wrong (black mold, missing plywood, and deteriorating flashing), we knew we weren't getting duped. Originally, we had Power come in to check out our windows for replacement, but it turned out the roof was more important. We get confident in our choice given the necessity of the work, the financing, and the 50-year warranty for parts AND labor. Everyone who worked with Power was on time, friendly and attentive. The crew was polite and considerate...and they worked FAST. Two days, and they're wrapping up. Literally my only complaint is that the guy dropping off the dumpster just plopped it at the end of our driveway without asking where he should put it, making parking in our yard difficult (and that dumpster company was a third-party vendor). Great product. Had someone come door to door and make an appointment for windows. An hour later someone showed up to tell us about the windows. At first I was very wary, but after hearing the guy out it all made sence. If I am going to drop a large amount of money I want to know what I'm buying. If some guy came by, counted my windows and told me just the price I would be in the dark with what I'm getting. The last time I had a contractor work on my house they gave me a price, then asked for more money half way through the project, then even more after it was done. Power Home remodeling gave me a quote and after all my windows were in it came out Cheaper. The sales people will be in your house showing you all of their window toys for at least 2 house, but it is well worth it. I am going for a roof from them next. The men who came to install the windows were very clean! They had one guy just cleaning the whole time. I hate to say it, but my floor was cleaner after they left. My energy bill is half the price it was last year thanks to the new windows. I never thought windows would help that much. read more

I see a lot of negative reviews about PHR Group about the door-to-door sales approach, not about the actual work. I am reviewing about THE ACTUAL WINDOWS AND WORK AND CUSTOMER SERVICE! We previously had Anderson crank out windows which were less than 10-years old but didn't work (16 of 24 windows didn't open!). We decided to go with Power because of the product demo - energy efficient, strong, good looking and easy to open - and the screens are fabric and don't rip. The installation process was 2 days and the installers (who work for PHR - not outsourced) were professional, experienced, nice, and trustworthy. They did a fantastic job and the house looks amazing. And they have a warranty that they will repair at no cost any issue with the window. I recently noticed there was a small hole in one of the screens and they are coming out quickly to replace it - no drama, no stress. Great experience. So, if you are in the market for new windows, PHR is definitely worth considering. read more

This is the second home repair that I have done with PHRG, and I cannot speak more highly about this company!!! From first contact, I have found both the consultants and workers to be top notch--professional, friendly, knowledgable, and passionate about the products and workmanship. I have made several large repairs to my home in the last 17 years and am finding that I am having to do the same work over again because of shoddy product and workmanship. PHRG warranties both the product AND workmanship for life! I have called on a weekend with questions about my home, and have had a consultant at my door within 24 hours to make an assessment. Customer service is number one priority with this company! I am a single mom, and at no point in the process of scheduling work did I feel scammed, placated, taken advantage of, or sold something that I didn't need. Power Home Remodeling Group replaced three of the outside doors on my house. The entire experience was pleasant and the Power team was very professional. All representatives were patient and knowledgeable. They were also extremely timely. Our doors are beautiful. We had a wonderful salesperson named John, a nice person who came out to measure named Scott, the installers (Igor and his asst) who installed the doors seamlessly and in record time and also a superb quality assurance rep named John who made the whole deal worthwhile. He came out to check on the job a few hours after installation to ensure that everything was done to our satisfaction. He's a great guy. Answered all of our questions and was so personable. It was a wonderful experience. They have a great team, and an excellent warranty. We are very well-pleased and would highly recommend them. read more

I could not have asked for a better experience. I had the windows in 2 bedrooms plus a sliding balcony door replaced. From start to finish everything ran smoothly. Throughout the entire process, from the sales meeting, preinstall inspection, phone calls, and installation I was treated as a person. Every point of contact was professional and friendly. The installation was expected to be only a day. However, the installers were delayed and had to return the following day to finish. They were absolutely incredible and meticulous. Within an hour after the installation, there was a noticeable reduction in noise, and the townhouse reached a uniform temperature, there had always been a noticeable difference in temperatures between the upstairs and downstairs. This company is breaking the law by sending out DAILY unsolicited spam calls. They have been flagged by AT&T's call protection service as spam, and there is even a law firm that has a website dedicated to pursuing legal action against this company for their spam calls.
