Came in to check on a specific date just 36. While waiting for a sales associate, I found the exact model that I wanted to gift for a friend who graduated law school. And after waiting 7 minutes for an associate decided to take a picture of the rolex model I was looking for. The security guard started yelling at me "my man, my man!" I turned and he yelled "you can't take a picture!" I didn't respond because I was surprised by his lack of professionalism. No signs indicate you can't take a picture, and I visited many Rolex stores: Honolulu, LA, DC, San Diego, Vegas, and have taken pictures with no issue. On August 31, 2024, I brought my Rolex timepiece to the Rolex Boutique Tourneau on Michigan Avenue, Chicago, for repair due to a malfunction with the date adjustment. On September 13, 2024, I was informed that my watch was ready for pick up, but upon collection, I was told that it could not be repaired as a crucial component--the Automatic Module--was missing. My watch had functioned properly during my 12 years of ownership, and to my knowledge, all parts were intact when I entrusted it to the Rolex Boutique Tourneau. The Boutique now claims, without evidence or cause to support it, that the part was removed by another jeweler over a year ago. However, my watch had no issues during the past year, and the missing part was only identified while the watch was in the care and supervision of Rolex Boutique Tourneau and its service center in New York. On September 24, 2024, I contacted Rolex Headquarters (HQ) customer service regarding a serious discrepancy involving the handling of my watch by one of their authorized partners, the Rolex Boutique Tourneau on Michigan Avenue, Chicago. I informed Rolex HQ of the substandard customer service I had received from the Rolex Boutique Tourneau and that, while under their care, my watch was reported to have a missing part by Rolex New York HQ. To the best of my knowledge, all components of my watch were intact at the time I entrusted it to the Rolex Boutique Tourneau. The sudden claim that a critical part was missing raised serious concerns regarding the handling of my property while it was in the care of the Boutique. I was informed by the staff that due to the missing Automatic Module, the watch could not be repaired and that Rolex's policy dictates that they do not replace core parts that are reported as missing. Following this alarming revelation, I sought clarification from Rolex New York HQ regarding the status of my watch. During the discovery process, Rolex New York confirmed that there were no records indicating prior service performed on my watch outside of their organization, nor was there any evidence suggesting that any other parts were not original to the timepiece. This confirmation was crucial in reinforcing my belief that the missing Automatic Module had been lost while my watch was under the care and supervision of the Rolex Boutique Tourneau. Subsequently, I learned that, the Director of Rolex Boutique Tourneau, had been in direct communication with Rolex New York, making false claims regarding the condition of my watch. the Director at Rolex Boutique Tourneau , who is not an employee of Rolex but oversees operations at the Boutique, asserted that the Automatic Module had been removed by another jeweler over a year ago. However, this claim is unfounded and based solely on his assumptions, with no supporting evidence to substantiate it. As the last known individual to handle my watch prior to its arrival at Rolex HQ in New York, these assertions raise significant concerns about the accountability of the Boutique and the integrity of the claims being made. I found it particularly troubling that the Boutique continued to pursue this matter with Rolex New York despite my informing them that I had spoken directly with their headquarters and did not require his assistance in resolving the issue. I felt threatened by the Director of Rolex Boutique Tourneau when he implied the influence his name carries at Rolex HQ in New York, stating that they would follow his direction and claims, and disregard me as the customer / watch owner. Given the circumstances, it is apparent that there has been a serious mishandling of my property, either by Rolex New York HQ or their authorized partner, the Rolex Boutique Tourneau. The fact that a critical part of my watch is now reported missing while it was in their care raises significant questions about their handling practices and the overall accountability for the items entrusted to them. read more

My journey took about a year when I met Danny and he put me on a list for an OP. The sad part is I got very sick over this past year and spent a LOT of time at the hospital nearby. This also meant that I had to walk by this store every week. I have been to a few AD's in other cities and none of them make you feel good as this store. Even the security guards are nice. This was the worst Rolex experience I have ever had. As it is an hour and half way, I arranged with my sales associate to come in on a Saturday, and she said she would put the two watches that I was interested in on hold for a week. The night before, she texted me and said that she was not working on Saturday, but that someone else would be able to help me. When I come in, I try the watches and decide, and am ready to purchase. They then say they do not have the watches in inventory, as I tried on display watches. I responded by saying that I talked to my other associate on Thursday, two days ago, and was told that the watches were in and that she'd hold them for a week. The new associate looked worried and said would I like to speak with the manager. Of course! The manager came over and said that the watches had been sold, but then said that if I make an appointment for next week, that they would present a watch to me of their choosing. I said that I didn't want a random watch, I wanted the one that I had been waiting 9 months to purchase. He then said that they would present that one. I said that I thought you didn't have that one, and he said it's an experience. I didn't understand what that meant, but said that if they have the watch, that I would be happy to make an appt. to come in and purchase it. He said he didn't, but was happy to set up an appt. to give me an experience. I then said, let me know when you have the watch, and I'll make an appt. for the "experience." I'm going to guess that most people in the market for a rolex aren't checking reviews on yelp first. That said, I'm reviewing anyway. I was searching for a stainless steel daytona with white dial and called ahead to see if they had one. This model is supposedly notoriously hard to find so I was pretty psyched when they said yes. I talked to Michael and told him I'd be in at noon. He was very friendly and knowledgable. The service was excellent, though I did ask if they had a black dial and he dissuaded me from looking. They say patience is a virtue, and that the best things in life are worth waiting for. I understood these points as I left my name on the waiting list for one particular watch I really wanted from the store. As the years passed, I saw multiple life milestones come and pass me by- a special birthday, a wedding, a promotion, and so forth. I remained calm and courteous, asking for updates on the watch every few months. Throughout this time, I asked the sales associates if it would help me to have purchased *other* timepieces to help "establish a relationship" with them. They told me no, that they do *not* provide priority for someone who has not made any purchases in the past. So you could imagine my frustration when I found out several grey-market dealers in the Chicagoland area had bought multiple pieces of the very same watch that I wanted from the dealership- throughout the period that I was patiently waiting. They'd put their name down and after a couple months, they'd be reselling the piece elsewhere. When I asked how they're able to, one of the resellers said "easy, I just bought a Submariner from them first." My problem with Tourneau is not that they adopt an allocation-based sales model. I get that. I understand why they do, and I believe it ends up helping the owners just as much as it helps the authorized retailers. I wish, however, they were simply honest about it. I wasted literally three years waiting for that timepiece, and when I tried to find a channel to make it happen, they insisted that there was no other way than to wait- a falsehood that was blatantly exposed by the greater Chicagoland area watch seller network. Watches are sentimental things. We want one particular watch to keep forever, or at least a very, very long time- and we want the experience to be a positive one. The wait should feel worthwhile. The Tourneau Rolex boutique on Michigan Avenue simply left me with the blatant, unmistakeable message that the wait is *not* worthwhile, and that their services are *not* worth going out of your way for. read more

(That's okay I understand, these are crazy times) then the security continue to say we don't have what you are looking for, skymasters or anything.
