They offer a decent retail experience, which is extremely difficult when no organization can get their hands on much inventory. My only complaints are that the location can be a bit too busy when the weather is good, and that they should be selling pre-owned if they cannot fill orders. of course I could be wrong (I know nothing about luxury retail). read more

BUYERS BEWARE - Razny Jewelers (Addison) Sold Me a Used Rolex as New with a Tampered Warranty Card My experience with Razny Jewelers in Addison has been nothing short of disturbing, and I feel obligated to share the truth to protect other buyers from potential deception. I purchased a Rolex Sky-Dweller (White Dial) from them after being on their waitlist for over a year, regularly communicating with store representatives like Lisa and Matthew. At the time of sale, I specifically asked about the reference model and was told that Rolex occasionally ships older references, which I accepted. What I did not expect--and what was never disclosed--was that I was being sold a USED watch misrepresented as BRAND NEW. Upon closer inspection of the warranty card, it became clear that the original date had been erased and reprinted. The faint outline of the original date-- 29 April 2023--is still visible beneath the alteration. This type of tampering is not only unethical but also borders on forgery. All sales staff involved were fully aware of their actions. When I confronted them, they brushed it off as "not a big deal." And said it was a mistake, but did you inform me when you were selling me the watch? NO. That kind of response is unacceptable, especially from an AD (Authorized Dealer) of a brand like Rolex. It is very evident they sold me a used, mint-condition watch under the guise of it being new--something no reputable jeweler should ever do. What's worse is their active effort to prevent accountability. I have made several attempts to escalate the matter to the owner, Mr. Razny, in hopes of a fair resolution. But the staff blocks me every time they realize the nature of my call. They go so far as to redirect me to other locations, rather than owning the issue and addressing it with integrity. It's heartbreaking to think that a family business with a long-standing reputation may be unaware that its own staff is tarnishing that legacy by covering up such dishonest practices. I have retained all evidence, including receipts, video proof, and the tampered warranty card, and I will include these in my review to ensure transparency. People may wonder why now. I was very polite, respectful, and reasonable, giving them enough time and a chance to rectify the situation, but they were adamant. So, imagine if you find yourself in my situation, whether it's a watch or jewelry, be prepared for the same kind of attitude and response. They would test your patience to the core. If I were the owner, and to be honest, I would have gone out of my way to resolve this issue, and would have done everything possible to make my customer happy. If you value trust, integrity, and the assurance of receiving what you paid for, think twice before doing business with Razny Jewelers in Addison. Their mishandling of my situation and blatant misrepresentation should be a significant red flag for anyone considering a purchase from them. Just imagine that your jewelry purchases, such as diamonds or gold, are what they claim to be? Also, keep in mind that the same practices were being carried out by Patek Dealer in Chicago when a whistleblower from within them revealed their sales practices, which led Patek to withdraw its franchise. I believe that if the Razny staff continues in this direction, they could be the next. All future buyers, please be cautious, conduct thorough due diligence on your purchases, and, if possible, avoid doing business with them. For past buyers, please recheck your purchases. Great Experience! Was in the area shopping and decided to stop in to get my 12 year old Rolex watch cleaned and Lydia made it look brand spanking new!! I mean like OMG! The actual Rolex boutique on Michigan don't even get it this clean. It look like I just purchased it out of the case, which I was told they actually hand clean it on top of putting it in the machine and you can tell. Everyone else was kind too, down to the security guard who control the super cool security entrance door that's like a body capsule. I've never seen anything like it outside of the airport. TL;DR: Great selection of jewelry and authorized dealer for some of the bigger luxury timepiece makers (i.e. Rolex, Patek, Cartier, Tudor, etc.). Came here earlier this year to inquire about getting my first luxury watch to commemorate my wedding next year. After having a really off-putting experience at the Rolex Bucherer (where I felt I was really brushed off) and the Omega Boutique (where the sales associate aggressively told me to put a $3k down payment today if I wanted to guarantee an aqua terra in 12 months) just down the street, I was really apprehensive swinging by Razny's. However, I am so glad I swung by. I was paired with Kristy D. as the AD associate and she was absolutely lovely the entire process. She let me try on the exhibition watches that I was interested in and I finally opted to put my name down for a stainless steel 36mm Rolex explorer. Given how backed up the Rolex waitlists seem to be for ADs, I was still a bit apprehensive which is why I put my name down with over a year of lead time. I appreciated Kristy's transparency with how the explorer should be attainable, but some of the more coveted watches like a Daytona were just going to borderline impossible especially when compared to some of the high spending clients there. While I was waiting on the waitlist for my watch, my fiancée and I made another visit to look at wedding bands! Kristy did a great job at giving us a ton of different options. While my fiancée ended up finding her ring elsewhere, I was really happy with the gold ring I got with a brushed finishing and beveled edges. When I picked up my ring I also got a chance to chat with another associate, Kristy Wu, who was also lovely to chat with and pick her brain at with all things jewelry, watch, and wedding related. At any rate, fast forward to just about 3 months later and I got the call from Kristy D. letting me know the watch was here. It was a really great experience picking up the watch and am so glad Kristy D. was able to help navigate my first true luxury watch purchase. Was also kind of shocked how fast the turnaround time was. I know the explorer isn't a particularly highly sought after watch, but I know of plenty of people who have waited way longer or even still on the waitlist for it. So feeling really grateful to not have to play any crazy games like from what I've seen online AND the watch came in just in time for a pre-wedding photo session with my fiancée and I so that was also a plus to get some shots in there (attached) haha. All-in-all, really great experience and cannot recommend Kristy D. enough! I did not know of the extreme scarcity and wait times, even for models that I thought would be readily available. I recently visited several other Rolex stores to "add my name to the wishlist" (or hope to get lucky). The service, or very much the lack-thereof, at other stores was upsetting, to say the least. Google and many forums echo the opinion that this is common now, which makes me appreciate Mee even more. She hasn't adopted the current Rolex "personality" that I've come across recently. Candidly, I sign up on multiple "wait lists" for the Rolex timepiece I wanted, expecting to get "the call" from the AD in 6-12 month, or maybe never (I have no "spend history" with any of the AD's). I met with Julio Rodriguez at Razny, and was impressed with his attention and professionalism. Julio contacted me a little over three months later and advised that he had the watch-much shorter than I expected! I'd never actually seen it in person; I really liked it when I went in but asked if I could sleep on it as it's a major purchase (for me). Julio was very accommodating and I returned a few days later and bought it. I've returned once for a sizing adjustment, and Julio even cleaned my necklace and charm. We talked watches for a while (a hobby of mine) and he invited me to stop by any time. I don't care what others say but my experience sucks at your store. I was there last year summer during my birthday trip to Chicago and decided to give this shop a visit for a Rolex Submariner. I don't recall the salesman's name (should be a very short name) but he is a young tall Asian male. The basic attitude is that if you're coming out of the town, you're not welcomed here. Asked him to demo the luminous feature of the watch but he failed three times using his tiny flashlight-looking tool. I was the only customer in the store with a few watch pieces laying in front of me to try before another couple came in. The other couple were welcomed by another female sales person by taking the watch pieces directly away from me - no apology at all. The Asian salesman said nothing, did nothing about it. Ohh yeah his face was saying "you really want to buy a rolex, poor guy?", then he brought out a piece of paper to let me write down my contact information. After almost a year and a half I have never heard back any updates on a Submariner from this place - if you don't sell or have any intention to sell, don't open your door. As a first time Rolex buyer, it was distressing to me to learn that I was walking into the middle of the hottest market for Rolex stainless steel and sport models in the last 30 years. As the watch I desired was one of the highly coveted 2018 GMT Master II Basel releases, my mission was seemingly impossible. My typical visits to authorized dealers in Southern California where I live were met with indifference. Upon inquiring, the response was always, "Sorry, I have nothing to sell you," or, "there's a long waiting list for that model, can't help you." I felt these replies were always given with a subtle subtext of condescension. It was true - I wasn't yet a member of the prestigious "Rolex club," but a sympathetic ear would have gone a long way to making me feel better. All this changed when I visited Razny Jewelers on Oak Street in Chicago. I was in town on a business trip, and decided to try my luck there. I was warmly greeted by a sales associate named Aaron, and he listened as I told him of my struggles in trying to procure my first Rolex - model 126711 CHNR. Though he didn't have one in stock to show or sell me, he took the time to show me similar models in yellow and rose gold to give me a sense of what it would look like. I appreciated his ability to discern that I was a serious buyer through conversation and friendliness. Aaron said there was a possibility my desired watch could be procured for me through special order if I was willing to wait 4 to 6 months. I said this would be no problem, as I felt it was an amazingly short time window given the current state of the market. After confirming with some folks behind the scenes, he called me and told me that Razny could come through as discussed. I quickly paid the deposit, and to my amazement the watch was in my hands in only 3 months - earlier than promised, and the week before Christmas as an added bonus! I visited the folks at Razny Jewelers on Oak Street in the Gold Coast this past week, and there is just something about their warmth, passion and incredible horological knowledge that sets them apart from all the other Chicago jewelers. Their extensive insight about the watch industry, and their willingness to get to know me as a fellow watch enthusiast, left an indelible impression. Location (Gold Coast): Upon entering the shop, one cannot help but notice the vast array of Patek Philippe watches adorning the left side of the store, and an equally stately assemblage of Rolex watches on the opposite side. It was a watch lovers paradise, with every inch of the store being immaculate and impressive. Additionally, I was surprised to find that the store has three floors: The second floor houses various products, including sophisticated watch winders and safes. But what really impressed me was that it contains two private viewing areas that allow customers to examine watches in total privacy, without having to deal with all the busy activity on the main floor. Both rooms were well furnished and tastefully decorated. It's such a nice touch. Unfortunately, the third floor was closed due to repairs. So, I cannot comment on that. Staff: The team managing the Gold Coast location (Julio Rodriguez and Rebecca Daugherty, in particular) deserve their own review section, because they did nothing but make me feel at home. What's more, it soon became apparent that the entire staff had a thorough and comprehensive knowledge of fine timepieces, and -- despite being an authorized dealer for Patek Philippe and Rolex -- they weren't afraid to discuss other watch brands, which I found totally refreshing. At the same time, I was impressed by their lack of pretense. But what I valued most were the conversations. Even though they didn't have the watch I was looking for during my visit, the Razny team still took the time to get to know me as a person. Never once did I feel pressured into buying something else, nor did they make me feel second-rate. In my observation, this treatment was further reflected in the other customers who walked into the store, many of whom were known to the staff on a first-name basis. Lasting thoughts: Overall, the Razny team is doing something special here in Chicago, and they've done an excellent job building a great community of new and repeat customers. My husband had a springbar on his Rolex band/bracelet (the bar that holds the bracelet to the clasp) that fell out and needed to be replaced. He has had his Rolex watch since the 1970s-- a gift for his 21st birthday. Before going to RAZNY, he went all the way down to Sutter's on the recommendation of the Rolex store on Michigan and was very disappointed; Sutter's offered no help and said they were focused on full service overhaul. I guess we understand the business model, but my husband was disappointed and saddened -- and frustrated -- by what seemed to be a lack of concern for the customer, and for a customer who had been dedicated to the product and brand for these many many years......... HE THEN WHEN TO RAZNY!... AND RAZNY WAS FANTASTIC!.... Kristy Dicostanzo, the sales professional, and Matt the Watchmaker could not have been more professional, attentive and customer-focused. This is a high end Oak Street Store -- they did not need to spend all the time they did with my husband -- but they did and showed real care for him and his prized watch. Matt fixed the springbar problem, gave some further unsolicited and valuable advice on watch care, and Kristy did not charge for the service. Please understand, we mention the 'no-charge' to be complete in our facts -- but that is not the main point; while we appreciated not being charged, the main point here is the amazing care and service that RAZNY, Kristy and Matt showed my husband. RAZNY also does everything it can to make the customer experience comfortable and enjoyable. When he arrived, he was formally greeted, offered cool water and a place to sit and relax. While on a walk around our neighborhood my husband spotted the Rolex signage outside of Razny Jewelers and suggested we see if they might tighten my clasp.
