We were planning to visit Skateland, however their first Sunday session didn't begin until 3pm, so I decided to take my crew to Roller City's 1pm public session. They are very lax with enforcing the mask requirement, which was disturbing. Adult and children patrons, as well as staff, not wearing masks or improperly wearing masks risks everyone's safety. The Snack stand makes snacks to order, so I had to wait 15 minutes for an undercooked, doughy pretzel and a semi-decent slice of pepperoni pizza which costed me nearly $7. The upside is that there weren't a lot of people present and they didn't charge a "spectator" fee, which is something new that Skateland implemented for non-skating patrons. read more

Roller skating is my favorite hobby and I always wanted to go to this new rink. I have heard of mixed reviews and decided to try it for myself. I attend the Saturday night session from 8:30 PM-11PM family skate session. The price of the session was very affordable, $5.00! I had my own skates, so I did not have to worry about skate rental. It was really cool that there are plenty of options to choose if you dont want to skate: arcade games, bounce houses, and glow in the dark mini golf. If I were to come with my family, I'm sure we would have hours of the endless fun. I only came to roller skate, so I'm not sure of the prices The music was OK. I think the DJ tried his best to play what the skaters wanted to hear.  It was a mix of R&B, hip-hop, and surprisingly Funk! The skating floor is very small but great for a beginner or younger skater. I wished the floor was bigger so that I could have a better skating experience. The other downside of this location is that its located next to one of Indy's biggest nightclubs. So, there were moments where the music from the club overpowered the music at the skating rink. It was very distracting and hindered the roller skating experience at Roller City. Everyone continued to skate through the noise anyway. If I have smaller children or wanted to know how to skate, Roller City would be a great option. But if you're a diehard skater like me, you may have a hard time adjusting to the small size of the actual skate floor. read more

It was my first time ever taking my kids to rollerskate and this was on a Tuesday afternoon and when I got there a man walks out of the office on the phone must've been the owner or manager and points right at the waiver no greeting or anything RUDE! When I'm getting ready to pay, I tell this gentleman that my son does not want to skate and he tells me he needs to do something he can't just be here and do nothing!! I asked him if he can just sit on the benches, and he said no! I was like WTF!! at that moment I should've just walked out and told him he just lost customers but because my daughter really wanted to try it, and I drove 35 minutes to get to this place I decided to stay and paid for my son anyways. Just with the poor and rude customer service I would never ever go back to this place nor would I recommend this place. And on top of that the RESTROOMS WERE DIRTY & DISGUSTING! if restrooms are like that, I can't even imagine how they handle or take care of the food aspect of it. Gross just to think about it. My friend rented out Roller City for her private birthday party and I really enjoyed it. We had the place to ourselves for two hours which was nice especially during COVID-19, so we were able to social distance. The skating rink looked very up to date and clean. The skates are better than the old school brown, beat down skates lol. The only issue is the sizing was a little off and since they are newer, they needed more breaking in. The size of the rink was a little small, but I did not mind that. The glow in the dark was very fun and went with the theme of my friend's party. This was an adult party, but I would definitely return and bring my kids. They also have arcade games that I think my son would enjoy. read more

This is the smallest rink in Indy, but the newest. Roller City definitely has a different flavor from other skating rinks. We visited for the first time on. a Friday and brought our own skates. Admission was $5 without a skate rental, and Friday hours were 7-11, which is later than many other skating rinks. This is the in the top 2 cleanest skating rinks I have visited and has hands down the best bathrooms. Since it was created in 2017 everything is new: the bathrooms, the carpet, the tables, the video games m, everything. The rink was super dark, which was fun. The carpet and the mini golf really popped under the black lights. They have the largest selection of arcade games for tickets. They have indoor mini golf and bounce houses if you pay a couple extra dollars for unlimited golf and skating. The snack bar area is reasonably priced and well cared for by an older adult who kept it very clean, not a teenager like at other rinks. The staff overall was pleasant and very attentive. The DJ made sure the kids were skating safely and those who skates unsafely were asked to stop. There was a woman cleaning tables and vacuuming, which is a first that I've seen in a skating rink. My family and I went to Roller City during their 7-9:30pm Saturday public session. This was our first visit to a roller rink, and we enjoyed it! The skating floor is pretty small and there are a few rough spots, but it's not too slick and very fun to skate on when the disco lights are on. Also, there is no fee for spectators, which is nice. The whole building is pretty clean as well. I brought my own skates, but my sister used the rentals and they worked very well for her. The downsides: - There is a mask requirement, but it is not enforced whatsoever. I'd say about 70% of the people on the rink floor were either not wearing masks or had their masks pulled down below their chins and noses. Because the rink is small and everyone is so close together, this felt pretty dangerous. - The lines to enter at the beginning of a session and to get food are long. I think this could be fixed with more staff, but at the moment, it's a hinderance. It took my family fifteen minutes of waiting just to buy our admission and enter. Overall, I'll only return to Roller City after the pandemic has significantly calmed down or if all of the other rinks in the area are less Covid safe. My friend and I had a blast at Roller City. It's fun for all ages! The employees were nice and helpful. It's pretty cheap to get an all access pass which includes mini golf the roller rink and skates and the bounce houses. The music selection was okay. The roller skates looked and felt new and everything was clean. I recommend wearing tall thick socks or your feet will hurt. They also included games for everyone skating which were fun. read more

I took my two daughters here yesterday 5/10/19 for my little one birthday surprise who is turning 4 Sunday. I driven 35min from Greenwood cause they closed at 11pm and other place closed earlier. Three things that I did not like was everything cost far as skating wise. Now this was my two daughters first time skating so at the front counter I pay for "the all access" that includes mini put put/ bounce house/ arcade and roller skating. *Dislike: (1) so I paid for the all access band, that did not include the support walker so I had to pay for that as well after I already paid. I said to the lady then why am I paying twice after I have the "all ACCESS BAND"? even when I told you this their first time skating smh. Her only response was "sorry everything costs " wow, really??? (2) first time skater area is in the middle of the skating floor and it's small like how can you really practice skating. Because people resting In the area to take a break from skating or cutting ( skating ) through to catch with friends or they're being chase. ( 3 ) kids running although the place. Trying to put put other kids "teens" come to hang out in there or someone getting chase running on / jumping from one course to another.. Same goes for the bounce house. And I didn't see any all " access band " on their wrist. ** Parents Supervision is little to none. Overall The place is really clean. the equipment is well kept up on. The rink is a little small, but very clean place. Loved the putt-putt! They charge too much for popcorn refills $1 for a very small bag and also charge for water refills - not nice! A drinking fountain would be nice. Kitchen and bathrooms very clean. Skates are clean but slow rolling. The carpet is very hard to skate on - there is a big bump going on and off the rink which doesn't help anyone's balance. The DJ turned off the music a half hour early and we were first told we couldn't play putt-putt the last half hour of the session "due to a private party". But we did any way and no one asked us to leave. Games were fun.... Overall, nice place and friendly people. Great place to take the kids. Staff is friendly and it's very clean. Affordable for a $10 charge each kid can skate, mini golf and bounce house for kids 12 and under. If the kids have their own skates , as a few of ours had roller blades , it's less than $10. The two times we visited during the daytime it wasn't overly crowded , which is nice. read more

We just left roller city where we came to celebrate a kiddo for his birthday. Several members of a party began fighting, swearing and throwing things back a forth. A staff member EVENTUALLY addressed the issue and asked the party to leave, then walked away without escort the party out. As they made their way to the door, a physical altercation broke out with no staff in sight (and right next to my one and seven year olds as it turned out). Staff came again and, this time, escorted the party out. Myself, my family and our friends made the decision that our evening at roller city was over because of this. Having only been there 30 minutes, seemed a no brainer to me that we would be refunded our fees (including $10 for the ONE YEAR OLD we were made to pay). The first employee I spoke to said "Nothing I can do.. talk to him" ,pointing to another employee. I then spoke with a 2nd employee who had the nerve to ask if myself or my children had been physically struck or involved in the situation, because "why else would you feel unsafe?". He then informed me there was nothing he could do and told me to walk all the way to the back of the rink and ask another employee, a manager presumably. When I responded with "Shouldn't YOU go and get the manager from the back?" he simply walked away. I waited at the counter for another few minutes, while my husband took our children's skates off and turned them back in, and once again EVENTUALLY, the manager wandered up to the front counter. At this point I am understandably escalated and began my conversation with her "Are you the one who makes the refund decisions?" She said yes, listened to me explain to her that we did not want our family, our children, at Roller City tonight and would like a refund for our trouble. As she starts to explain to me that we were not in any danger because we were not physically struck by the altercation that took place right next to us, AFTER staff had become involved and had simply walked away before the issue was resolved. I informed her that I would be happy to discuss their handling of the situation on Yelp and FB if that's how she'd like to handle it. She then responded that I was "threatening" her and that I could "have fun writing my review". So we left and now, here I am, enjoying my review Bottom line folks, customer service is terrible at Roller City! You have options in the area people! (Wheels of Wonder, Hot Skates, etc..) So next time you are looking for a birthday party spot or even just a fun family night... choose somewhere else!! ‍ read more
