Glow in the dark skating rink.
    Rayshon H.

My friend rented out Roller City for her private birthday party and I really enjoyed it. We had the place to ourselves for two hours which was nice especially during COVID-19, so we were able to social distance. The skating rink looked very up to date and clean. The skates are better than the old school brown, beat down skates lol. The only issue is the sizing was a little off and since they are newer, they needed more breaking in. The size of the rink was a little small, but I did not mind that. The glow in the dark was very fun and went with the theme of my friend's party. This was an adult party, but I would definitely return and bring my kids. They also have arcade games that I think my son would enjoy.

This is the smallest rink in Indy, but the newest. Roller City definitely has a different flavor from other skating rinks. We visited for the first time on. a Friday and brought our own skates. Admission was $5 without a skate rental, and Friday hours were 7-11, which is later than many other skating rinks. This is the in the top 2 cleanest skating rinks I have visited and has hands down the best bathrooms. Since it was created in 2017 everything is new: the bathrooms, the carpet, the tables, the video games m, everything. The rink was super dark, which was fun. The carpet and the mini golf really popped under the black lights. They have the largest selection of arcade games for tickets. They have indoor mini golf and bounce houses if you pay a couple extra dollars for unlimited golf and skating. The snack bar area is reasonably priced and well cared for by an older adult who kept it very clean, not a teenager like at other rinks. The staff overall was pleasant and very attentive. The DJ made sure the kids were skating safely and those who skates unsafely were asked to stop. There was a woman cleaning tables and vacuuming, which is a first that I've seen in a skating rink. Things that would make this a five star review: The skating floor itself is the smallest in town The skating floor is too slick and could use some grip

Due to a drink spilled on the floor in the snack area with NO wet floor sign, i fell and broke BOTH of my wrists! Then, I had to drive my child home before attempting to drive MYSELF to the ER, which was almost 30 min away. Absolutely NOTHING was done about this, other than receiving ONE text message. I wish that ZERO stars was an option, The owner wouldn't call me back. I missed several days of work, as well as incurring some astronomical hospital and surgery bills, having 2 surgeries on one wrist and casts on BOTH = not very convenient for an American Sign Language Interpreter to say the least. Stay away from this establishment until they have a safety update.

It looked like a nicely kept rink, has great reviews, and also has a fantastic birthday package. On the day of our party, I realized they had several birthday parties booked. However, I quickly learned how extremely organized and efficient they are. There was not a single thing that I had to do, other than skate and have a good time with our party of friends and family. Our guests were instructed to check their gifts in at the concession stand, and they put them all into a giant tote and put them back for safe keeping. I was told what time they would announce her birthday on the floor and bring her cake out to sing Happy Birthday. From there, they led us back to where our tables were set with plates, sodas, napkins, and forks. When everyone had gathered, they brought out the pizzas with spatulas so we could serve ourselves. I noticed them cutting up the cake and plating it as we enjoyed our pizza. As they served us each slices of cake, I was told to let them know when we were ready for gifts and they would bring them out. When we were all finished, they were happy to put her gifts in the back again so I could skate and retrieve the presents when we left. This is a clean and very well-kept skating rink. The rental skates are in good shape, and they're happy to help you with tightening or loosening wheels. Even the bathrooms were clean and well kept. I wish I had taken more photos for my review, but we were having so much fun, I completely forgot. Sorry Yelpers! You'll just have to go and experience this one for yourselves!

It also doesn't hurt that I grew up in 4H and going to the county fairs to show. I know most folks love the fair for the fried foods and rides but we're more on the livestock bars, shows, and exhibit train. A few of our favorites include the Soybean Alliance barn (great for young kiddos and air conditioned), the Horticulture/Ag building with Indiana Grown vendors, honey ice cream and butter carving, tractor/ trailer rides around the large property and last but certainly not least, visiting all of the animals and enjoying a few of the livestock shows. This year, we caught a western style horse show, dairy cow show and sheep showmanship. I love seeing how captivated my two and five year old are in watching this process (not to mention all of these independent farm kids show animals).

It does feel authentic - but it's cramped into this small, adorable city center area which is super cute. Problem, it's a small, cramped space and was difficult to even walk down the rows (like, so cramped you were just stopped elbow to elbow pushing against people not moving) and with my daughter's stroller it was a nightmare. The lines for food were at least 50 people deep for every single vendor so, if you wanted to sample multiple things you'd be waiting hours... They did have authentic German souvenirs and the boot mugs are adorable! Lots of cute places for photo ops. There were some issues - the penny press didn't work and took my $.51 and gave me a mangled, flat penny. I had dollars and pennies but no quarters and literally no one vendor or place here had change. I feel you should not have a penny press without offering people change... it should be located in one of the customer help/service tents. The 5k was fun and well-done - small group of around 2500 runners and starts and ends at the market. It was nice bc I got to see the spaces and walk around and take some pictures without the crowds. If we ever come back, it'll be much earlier in the season and during a week day to avoid the insane crowds we had on the last Saturday before Christmas. I think the 5k should be earlier in the season so it'll be warmer and less crowded.

I've enjoyed this open air market for the past several years despite the cold weather. The mulled wine, spiked ciders and other interesting hot beverages will keep you warm while you peruse the various vendors seasonal offerings. Every year they have a different Christkindlmarkt mug with the year and new theme to collect. This year we were delighted to experience a glassblowing event. Artists visit from Germany had a demo making glass ornaments and it was fun to watch and nice to be warm and indoors for a bit. Purchased a gorgeous glass hummingbird ornament as a gift for my mom. I love standing by the fire near giant lit up windmill eating the boiled potatoes topped with raclette cheese, bacon and onions. Something we look forward to every year. They added shuttle this year and there is also free parking in a couple lots nearby if you're lucky enough to snag a spot or get there early enough. Arrive early if you can! Bundle up and do a little Christmas shopping and even ice skating if you're up for it. There are tons of unique gifts and food and drinks to try. Enjoy!

The bumper cars are more like CrAzY cars, they don't always go in the direction you want them to... I'm not sure if that's on purpose or not but it made for some pretty hilarious videos! I pre purchased our tickets online, you can choose your day/time slot and it's $5 per person... when you arrive and check-in you're given a colored wrist band(every hour is a different color), then you wait in line for your turn on the ice. Once on the ice you bump and slide into other bumper cars for 5 min and then return to the end of the line... during our hour we had three turns on the ice. We did allow a few people to go ahead of us a few times so that we could all be on the ice at the same time, so if you have a smaller group you may have more turns on the ice than we did. The only reason I did not give 5 stars is because during our hour random parts kept appearing on the ice: screws, brackets... they didn't pause to inspect the cars and during our last ride the motor fell off the bottom of the car my sister was in... This was something none of us had done before and was a lot fun! I'd definitely go again!!

I've been here several times, and the bowling alley is always going strong. This time I went on a Sunday night, which seems to be my favorite. The idea was to play in the arcade and have a birthday dinner there. It was less than ideal, and the friendliness of the staff is what made the night somewhat of a success. The bumper car area was empty. I have never seen anyone use them. The skating rink had a couple of people on it. The arcade area seems like it could use more. There are a few ways to earn tickets, and a few games. Some you see in nearly every arcade, like the Jurassic Park one. I wouldn't mind seeing some pinball in here. That would get me in more regularly. We had a few hitches, most of which were addressed quickly. The air hockey table did not give us a puck. After a bit of waiting, a guy came out and gave us one. I noticed the black lights were out on both tables. They have a giant claw to try and grab the big rings of tickets. One of the workers refilled the machine, and after one play we got an error that wouldn't let us play. That was fixed quickly. Almost everything was working, which was nice to see, but I'd like more of it. I grew up in arcades, so even though things have changed, there is a feeling of nostalgia. Bring in some pinball games and let's complete it! To end the night we actually went to BK. I'm not even sure why. I think in the past I just didn't find the food here enjoyable, so I was kind of reluctant to try again. So 3 stars for the arcade experience and +1 for the employees.
