They gave me 10 big tokens which then you have to put big coin into token machines to turn it into 10 little coins.I thought it Is kinda weird and the worst thing is the machines aren't in perfect condition. 3 out of 10, it didn't dispense tokens like it supposed to. Plus some of machines were out of order but it's not properly labeled so I wasted some token there too. The Skate rink looked fun but definitely their arcade isn't worth paying money for it.

The carpeted wall goes around the entire rink which is great for us beginners as many rinks don't have the full wall. The arcade is expansive and there is an indoor jungle gym for younger children. My avid skating friend shared that the music played at this roller rink has a better vibe with classic upbeat pop and a mix of newer songs such as Chappell Roan compared to roller rinks that are further north such as the Troy and Waterford area.

It's been a little over 24 hours since I've left Hazel Park Ice Arena, and my a$$ has not thawed…read moreout. My buns were frozen after a 45 minute game. The seating area is small and right behind the goalie. The glass is pretty beat up and hard to see the full game. The waiting area was large and it was easy to find the players after the game. The snack bar was half open and didn't have any products warming up. Even though it is not directly off the highway, the Ice Arena is pretty easy to locate. Just look for the building south of the race track parking lot. The best part about the game (since we lost) was the sound system during play. I haven't heard Thunderstruck or Fall Out Boy's Light em Up in a good long while.

Then, when my daughter and I went to the woman bathroom near the soccer/ hockey rink there was a man using the bathroom with the stall door open. He did not flush the toilet or wash his hands and when we told the rental manager she said " oh they do that all the time" as if it was ok and normal.

They do lock-in skating events usually during holidays mostly. There are tables for the folks that aren't skating and they have Wi-Fi and a parent room that's quieter. Two seat high tables along the fence for the minor kids and a bunch of random couches by the main entrance. The parent room provides a bit of shelter from the constant noise of wheels rolling over metal plates at the top and bottom of a ramp. The interior is a big open warehouse. Fenced in for the skaters. Not fancy, but lots of different ramps for skateboarding, rollerblading or for razor scooters. My nephew wanted to try out every ramp to see which one was to his liking. Do bring a book, noise canceling headset and maybe a phone charger too. If you need snacks, Kroger is just across Stephenson and Penn Station subs just a half a mile away. They do have some snacks in the 3 vending machine. Probably a bit more fun coming with friends. My nephew felt a bit comfy after a half hour of getting the lay of the land. It can feel a bit chilly in the warehouse. My nephew said there's some fun ramps and runs, he was getting toasty running around some. Not me. He walks some and studies them ahead of skating to see what's on the other side to make sure there aren't any stairs on the other side of a ramp. My nephew likes the two half circle ramp with the flat landing in between. He also enjoyed the bowl, which has a slope to enter it.
