We went there on a Sunday about 2pm... That place was popping, very, very busy... Wait time was about 30 min for a table. I saw every single person hustling. From high school aged kids to the actual owners themselves, everyone was working hard that day. We were greeted by everyone we crossed paths with. We ordered the "Shotgun". It's a Sandwich with different BBQ meats topped with Mac N Cheese... This Sandwich was about 24 bucks but the value is ridiculous. This sandwich could feed the entire Village of Vinton Seriously, this thing is huge! My wife and I shared it and we struggled to finish it. Not only quantity but quality as well... Every single bite was bursting with flavor. Absolutely delicious... We frequent this place and every thing we have ordered is amazing. Nice patio and nice seating area. Enjoyed some of the best baby back ribs I have ever had. When I arrived late on a Sunday afternoon, the hostess told me they only had ribs left and asked if that was OK. I probably would've ordered ribs anyway so I had no issues. The waitresses were very prompt and polite in my order came out very quick. The baby back ribs were smoked to perfection, cooked at just the right temperature, and for the correct length of time. They were served hot as if they had just come off the smoker. The dry rub was the perfect blend of seasonings for a pork rib. The sides are just that, sides, but they are good. Portions are small, but I was way more interested in the ribs. The setting is just off the road and has more of a dive type of feel. I will definitely be going back to try other selections and make sure I arrive earlier or call ahead to see what they have available. Fun, well decorated shop right at the border of New Mexico and Texas. The meats were well smoked and flavorful. The loaded potato was a monstrosity in the best possible way. First time eating here. We ordered the family platter with four meats -- chicken, sausage, brisket, and baby back ribs -- along with potato salad, mac n' cheese, and beans. All the meats were really good: smoky, moist, and flavorful. Adding the house BBQ sauce made them even better -- it was excellent! The sides were tasty as well and paired nicely with the meal. The was indoor seating and a separate seating at the bar which looked like a nice place to eat if you're by yourself. Rollin Smoke brisket was the driest brisket I've had in my bbq journey in this part of Texas. It was so dry I didn't even attempt to try to continue to eat it. The ribs were dry but not as dry as the brisket and I dipped it into the sauce. The bbq sauce was delicious. What has been disappointing at other places but delicious here at Rolling Smoke is the sausage! The sausage was the saving grace. It was perfect! Texture, excellent. Taste, mouth watering. Portion, perfect! The sausage, Mac n cheese, and the brisket jalapeno popper were so good! I had the popper with the brisket as an appetizer and was excited because the brisket in it was delicious and tender. Sides. The Cole Slaw....not for me! First taste was delicious. Then the second, I tasted pineapple and raisins. Those two ingredient do not belong in Cole Slaw, I'm sure a lot of ppl enjoy it but not I. The beans were decent. Mac n cheese, delicious! The loaded potato is a giant spud smothered in beans, brisket, cheese, and bbq sauce and is enough for two to share. We also ordered the brisket platter and the brisket was tender and seasoned to a peppery perfection you come to expect with Texas BBQ. On my return visit today I was somewhat disappointed and thus had to lower the overall rating to Three and Three Quarter Stars. The inside dining area of the restaurant was improved. It had good air conditioning and large tables. Overall, it was a nice place to dine. The young ladies who led customers to a table and provided them with a menu were very pleasant. Our young waiter today was excellent. My date today ordered a two meat platter with cole slaw, pulled pork, and brisket. I had a three meat platter with brisket, baby back ribs, and sausage with mac n cheese. We also sampled one of their "Texas Twinkies," a pepper filled with cream cheese and wrapped in bacon and smoked. The food was ready and on our table within ten minutes. We found the pulled pork to be very good. It was not dry and had a nice smoky flavor. Rate it an "A-." The cole slaw was quite good and rates a "B+." The mac n cheese, on the other hand, was a disappointment. It was not as bad as a lot of BBQ joints serve it but it lacked flavor and had no seasoning or topping. Just plain. I was expecting a little more. Rate the mac a "B-." The brisket was about the biggest disappointment as some other reviewers have stated. The bark was so hard and dry you had to cut it away from the brisket in order to eat the meat. The brisket itself was somewhat dry and had no fat or flavor. They really need to improve their brisket, after all this is Texas! Even dousing it with their BBQ sauce didn't help. Rate the brisket a "B-" or maybe a "C." Very mediocre. The BBQ sauce itself was kind of anemic. After all the time they've been in business you would think they could come up with a better BBQ sauce or at least give the customers some options. Rate the sauce about a "B-." The baby back ribs of course were smoked with no sauce on them. The rub was undistinguished and the pork ribs a bit dry. I took a couple ribs home to reheat them using Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ Sauce. I would rate these ribs about a "B." Sorry, but Rollin Smoke needs to improve these. The sausage link was ok...nothing to distinguish it either way. Rate it a "B." The one item we really enjoyed along with the pulled pork was the Texas Twinkie. It had a nice smoky flavor and was over all delicious. Rate the Twinkie an "A-." So, as you can see, there was very little served here today that was in the excellent or superior category. One usually does not go out of his way to dine on "B," "B-," and "C" food. Rate the overall dining experience at Rollin Smoke THREE AND THREE QUARTER STARS....meaning, above average but not really outstanding. They really need to improve the brisket and ribs!!! We arrived 3 hours before closing and they only had two meats left, and the menu doesn't have a lot of options, so if you are planning to drive down there from El Paso I recommend calling to see what they have available so you don't waste your time. Decided to stop on my way home with a few buds a couple days ago. Ambience was pretty cool. Loved the design of the place. I ordered a 3 meat plate with sausage, brisket, and baby back ribs with a side of Mac n cheese. The sausage was phenomenal 10/10 but the brisket was dry and the ribs were pretty mid. They never gave us our mac n cheese and it arrived 15 mins later and had no flavor. The bbq sauce on the table was very good. I didn't get a chance to take hubby to Austin with me as he was sick. We were planning on going for his birthday and Valentine's, and I was going to take him to @franklinbbq . I ended up taking @reika_pug instead on a GALentine's trip, but I still owed him some amazing BBQ. Thank goodness for @rollinsmokebbqtx because their BBQ is just as amazing without the 3 hour wait and they have plenty of Dino Ribs available on Saturday and Sunday. Their brisket is perfectly balanced and smoked and they have Dino Ribs on lock. Their BBQ sauce is ridiculous, especially on their baby back ribs. I saw so many people walking away with Mason jars of sauce alongside their BBQ. What can I say El Paso loves their sauces... My meat loving daughter was in Dino Ribs heaven. She called herself a meatasaurus after devouring a lot of that meat...that Dino Rib and side fed 2 adults and 2 kids tonight. We have a gem in our own backyard, no need to go to Austin. You shouldn't miss out on this incredible barbecue spot, the meat is never dry, and the service is amazingly nice. Wow!!!! A gem here in Anthony-a must visit. We tried everything (well nearly) so amazing. The Dino beef rub fell off the bone. I've never seen a beef rib so big and never tasted anything so extraordinary. The Mac and cheese was over the top and my three meat choice-pulled pork, brisket and pork ribs -every meat was smoked to perfection. The bbq sauce is spot on and even the sweet tea is fantastic! Visiting from East Texas, drove by this place and decided to give it a try-- and boy are we glad we did!! I had the Triple Meat Plate, included brisket, baby back ribs and sausage with a coleslaw side. Super impressed with all of the meat, but especially the brisket, which had an incredible bark and a very subtle glaze that I think was hot sauce - and it was fantastic. Wife is a vegan - so she just had beans (amazing) and coleslaw - but she loved both. My favorite part of this restaurant, however, was the "resume" of owner Jesus on the wall. How original!! My feedback is based on takeout only (was eaten in the car immediately after pickup) The 2 meat basket had a good amount of meat - I actually split it with my husband. The brisket and sausage was pretty good. That alone, I'd give 4 stars. Here is where stars were lost in my opinion: 1. The sides were ok. The slaw was very watery but had a unique flavor profile with cranberries/pineapple that I've never had with bbq foods before. The Mac and cheese was typical but nothing to rave for if your a Mac & cheese fan. Did not like that the cheese had a grainy feel. Was surprised it had bacon bits in it but unfortunately could not taste it at all. 2. I was disappointed that the order didn't include typical BBQ fixings (onion, pickles, bread and depending on where you go jalapeños). We received 7 really meaty ribs, tender brisket and a lot of sausage. The jalapeño stuffed twinkies were delicious and not too hot. All the sides were great too and we had good service. The good: Nice open area with clean tables. Smoker is set outside the eating area and smells wonderful. The sauce is ok, but at first taste it was overly vinegary - probably just needed to be mixed better, cus after awhile, it was pretty good. The wait staff were ok, at first. The food didn't take too long to get to the table. The Texas Twinkies are wonderful! The bad: The brisket really is not as good as everyone says on here. It did not have a good smokey flavor, and it was a bit sweet, too sweet, even without the sauce. (Try Sparky's in Hatch and come back and tell me that this is better than Sparky's. Even Rudy's barbecue chain is better, sorry). The ribs were just ok. Nothing special. And not much meat. The sausage... Well, I was expecting it to look like it does in their pictures... Like it was thrown on the grill and basted in sauce. It did seem to be "homemade" sausage... say by them, or someone local, mostly because the casing was really thick and unedible. No big deal, I'd rather skin a homemade sausage then eat the casing on a factory sausage. It was cold and diagonally sliced. The service was great, at first. We were greeted as soon as we walked into the area. However, after the meal, we were waiting some time before anyone walked near us. As one of the employees was walking by I asked for assistance. She wasn't our waitress, but I thought she could send our waitress out. All she did was walk on past us, without looking or acknowledging us, growled incoherently in Spanish and went inside. I mean, maybe she did let our waitress know, because she came outside, but... she didn't need to growl at us like that. I'd say it was all also very overpriced. Three small ribs (about 3" long each, and like I said, hardly any meat at all), three slices of brisket (about 4-5" x 1.5" x 1/16") and a cold sausage ... a dollop of mac n cheese (about 1 cup), that, as one other person noted, had a grainy texture, for $23. A canned soda, $1.97. The main negative I have though, is that there must be MSG in their rub, sauce, or macaroni, or an MSG derivative (hydrolyzed proteins, inosinates... are the worst) - because I am allergic to MSG and get really sick, as I did within 1/2 hr after eating there, and have been sick for the past 5 days.
