The artist, Dawn, was incredible. I was blown away on how nicely done the face painting was done (with gemstones and everything). It was some serious beautiful face painting. The kids and school staff were all blown away. She was also so lovely to deal with and super great with the kids. When the kids went home, a lot of the parents loved the work and asked for her info too. I am so happy and relieved I chose them. I look forward to working with them again in the future. This year I was responsible for finding a replacement for our annual holiday party and boy oh boy…read moredid Purple Crayon deliver! We played their new virtual experience "Tough Luck" and it was a blast. The whole thing takes place via Zoom and to accommodate the size of our group they were able to split us into groups (of 6-8 people), each with their own charming and hilarious host, and we could play against each other for time. It was so so so much fun. I don't want to give any of it away, but it's a series of puzzles you have to solve to complete the "game." As I mentioned, I contacted them as a replacement for our holiday party, but it would totally be great as a team building exercise, or virtual birthday celebration. I would highly recommend this as a clever solution to to the kind of virtual get togethers we need right now. They also made me look like a creative hero for booking this for our group so hats of to them! Since I was responsible for booking, I can say that all of my communication with the company was super prompt and professional. I can wait for what they come up with next!

Our group played a puzzle called "Tough Luck" and I'm not going to tell you anything about the actual puzzle (I think it is cooler to go in without knowing much) other than it was about 100 times more fun than I thought it was going to be, and I loved the way it pulled on different people's strengths to figure out the puzzle. Our host was great. Funny. Deadpan. Did not ever break character, and rolled with everything. I really enjoyed the evening and I was a bummed when it was over. My team sent about eleventy billion texts to each other when it was over about how fun it was. I would recommend this to anyone looking for an outside of the box get together, and if I was every in New York I'd love to try the traditional experience.
