As you recline in your seat and look up at the beautiful visuals overhead, classical musicians perform a creative mix of timeless pieces along with arrangements from Star Wars and other contemporary music. The combination of the music and the immersive visuals made the whole experience feel magical. I had a fantastic time and would absolutely return for another show. The inside has a variety of activities set up which seemed to be pretty standard for a children's museum and were ones we'd seen in other locations. My kids stayed entertained for over two hours and would have been happy to stay if we'd had the time. This is a great option for a rainy day activity. The only downside is we were hoping to grab lunch beforehand and there weren't a lot of options nearby that we were able to find. At $12 a ticket for adults and children aged 1 and up it's a reasonable price!

I will say it did say to remove shoes but lots of bigger kids were just running wild through this space with their shoes on and it was a bit much so we didn't stay playing in there long for fear our little would get trampled. Nice to have an area for babies in theory, but without someone running the area it's just not being respected which again is more on the parents supervision (or lack there of). Since the Museum has limited hours during the week only, Monday to Friday, we headed to Athens early Monday morning during the first day of their Thanksgiving week holiday. UGA is also on Holiday break and the upside of our visit, was the very limited amount of people on campus. As most people know and now I know, the UGA campus is enormous. I had never been there before and soon discovered that not even my GPS helped find this Museum. Fortunately, the campus staff and students were very helpful and we did finally find the Museum. It is an extremely small Museum, compared to the Natural History Museum in DC, it is miniscule, i.e. 30 X 40 ft. and the primary reason for my rating. It does appear that UGA is trying their best to develop this Museum, but, it does have a long, long way to go. My grandchildren did learn a few scientific terms and were interested in a few of the exhibits, which we were able to explore undaunted and uninterrupted since we were the ONLY visitors at that time. There is always a silver lining and for this adventure, it was the positive help received by UGA students and staff, and being on campus without all of the usual activity.

If you've ever been to one of these before (and we have) you've been to them all. As we had young children with us, we skipped the zombie area (? Can't speak on it) and instead hit up both of the little 3-D shoot-em-up video game/films. (If you do the zombie walk, you only choose one of these) The first one we went on was scary clown themed, and had I known just how scary, I would have skipped it. (My 4 year-old was a bit traumatized). The other one, where you shoot at evil robots in the Wild West(!) was much better, not only because it wasn't too scary for little ones, but because it was smoother and less headache inducing than the other. Then there's a room full of rocks behind glass displays, not very exciting or hands on for kids (even as an adult, I felt like it was boring). There's one little section in the room where the kids can brush sand off rocks, but it was nothing special. The room with the bikes is the coolest room, but it's very small and like I said there's barely anything to do. You can look at different bikes on display, they have like 2 or 3 interactive things you can do to learn about how bikes work which take a minute to do. The there's a tiny jungle gym kind of thing that's sub-par, a water play area that's also sub-par and a sand pit where you can look for fossils which I guess would have been fun if my child was a bit older, but for little ones like mine, there wasn't much. He had a very tiny section in the corner he could play with and then he got bored. I guess I'm a bit spoiled because we live in the Triad and we have 3 of the best children's museums.
