However, this weekend (2026) we arrived at 7:30pm, gates supposedly open at 7:00pm. Place was packed, with cars parked in the isles and driveways. Drove around the lot trying to find a space. None available. Got our money back minus online processing fees. Watched as dozens of cars paid at the gate and drove around to find no parking spaces. Staff started directing people to the parking lot of an assisted living facility next door, so we parked there to see if we could at least see the fireworks. No such luck, but the assisted living parking lot quickly filled up. You couldn't see the screen from your vehicle if parked there either. Theater staff instructed people to take chairs and walk through a hole in the fence separating the two facilities to watch the movie. We left once we realized we couldn't see either the fireworks or the movie from our vehicle. Event was MASSIVELY OVERSOLD. Having a ticket didn't guarantee you a parking space. Surprised the county allowed cars to park in the driveways and isle for safety reasons. Theater staff should have told people the event was sold out after tickets for all the available parking spaces (on the theater property) were taken.

Nice pool room in the back with a lounge area. Thursday combined karaoke/open mic night on is a mistake. If they split this into 2 nights they would get a good karaoke crowd and probably a better open mic crowd. They're just 2 different crowds. Putting them together makes nobody happy. So, some good and some bad. If you're coming for a big live act it's a good venue.

Last week we made our second visit ever to Rollins Planetarium, located at Young Harris College in…read moreYoung Harris, GA. It's a great place to go for adults and kids alike, though note that it's a late evening activity. According to their site, the planetarium seats 104 under a 40-foot-diameter dome, and if you go, try to get there early to get a seat in the back. You'll be staring up most of the time, and the seats do recline a fair bit. The presentation is about half live, half recorded - but all with the lights down entirely - with the recording about whatever their current public show is about. The live portion is great, and features the night sky as it actually looks that night, in that location. The presenter we had was informative and fun to listen to, and the kids in our party got a kick out of it. The recording was about Saturn, and it was educational and interesting. We skipped the trek up to the observatory after the show, but only because our kids were done for the night. We did visit the observatory our first time to the planetarium, and if you can stay awake, I recommend it! Check their schedule and ticket times, as they generally only offer Friday night shows. We paid cash for our tickets ($3 adults, $2 kids/students), so I don't know if they accept other forms of payment. Parking was easy. Cool, educational, a real gem up in the mountains!

The resort is peaceful, quiet, and the perfect place for a weekend getaway. It gave us a chance to enjoy a much-needed digital detox--not just from our phones, but also from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. One of the highlights of our stay was the spa experience. We signed up for massages, facials, and the mineral soaks, and everything was absolutely amazing. The treatments were relaxing, rejuvenating, and exactly what we needed to unwind. The spa staff were professional and made us feel pampered from start to finish. We thoroughly enjoyed the wine tasting, and every wine we sampled was excellent. The live entertainment offered on weekend afternoons was also a wonderful touch and added to the relaxing atmosphere. During our stay, we took time to explore downtown Blairsville and discovered several charming family-owned restaurants. One of the things that made our stay even more special was finding a guest book in the cabin where visitors could sign their names and share memories of their stay. This was a memorable and relaxing birthday getaway. Between the beautiful setting, wonderful spa treatments, great wine, live entertainment, and exceptional hospitality, we couldn't have asked for a better experience. We will definitely be back!

We checked this place out after returning from the scenic railroad excursion around 2 p.m. It is…read morelocated facing the railroad tracks about 2 blocks south of the train depot. It is beyond the new county courthouse building it what appears to be the prior courthouse. Admission is free, though donations are encouraged. Given that Blue Ridge is a fairly small town, the scope of their arts building was quite impressive. When we visited, they had a gallery exhibit that took up the entrance hallways plus what was the main courtroom. Many of the paintings were very good. My impression was that they host rotating exhibits like this periodically. There are certainly towns much larger than Blue Ridge that have nothing like this facility for their arts communities. In addition to this main exhibit, they also had an arts supply store in the building, as well as a kiln in the basement for pottery (including classes). They also offered classes in upstairs rooms, on various arts-related topics. I believe the town also hosts arts events a few times a year (like plein air sessions and festivals). If we make it back to Blue Ridge in the future, we'll likely return here to see what new exhibits are on display. I'm giving it a 5-rating due to it exceeding expectations by a wide margin.
