The fine craftsmanship of a custom window install by Maris Home Improvements:…read more -Two windows Maris replaced on back of house where no eave is present had window wrap caulked to siding and no aluminum rain caps. Caulk failed prior to first heavy rain. -Slider on back of house also lacked an aluminum rain cap and caulk when payment was requested for a completed job. I called and Maris came out and caulked. No capping on slider. -"Installation includes all caulking/aluminum capping-where needed" is stated on the Maris contract. -First heavy rain 3 weeks after install I had heavy water running down the sheathing and interior foundation wall below one window where caulk failed, and wrap was catching water. -Maris paid for Servpro water remediation to dry up the water and do a flood cut after I requested it. Maris and I agreed to have Alside's warranty contractor detail and repair all the issues from my install in April 2024. See after picture of the water intrusion window where an aluminum rain cap was never installed. Window was taped.

Workers were inexperienced and had to redo many many things and left in middle of the days to work on other projects. The lack of communication and outright lies was the worst. I'm not sure how to sum up such a disappointing experience. Talk about a $40K lesson!…read more I reached out after seeing the 60% off installation promotion. They quickly scheduled an appointment and had someone out to provide a quote in no time. The salesman/PM, Gary, was very personable and did a great job explaining everything they could do for our deck/pergola project--I was sold instantly. He emphasized that he would be "our person" throughout the entire project. He provided a 3D rendering of what the project would look like, worked through final pricing, got our job scheduled fast, and even waited for our HELOC to be funded for the down payment. AWESOME, right? Unfortunately, things went downhill as soon as we paid the $15K deposit. Our administrator, Jordan, called the last week of February to let us know we were ready to begin the project the week of March 9th and said she would call by Friday to confirm the exact start date. We informed her that we had not received the requested documents for our HOA, and she said she would follow up. We made it clear that we needed HOA approval before work could begin. When we didn't hear from her that Friday, we emailed both her and Gary for a status update. The documents were supposed to include a final rendering (pictured above) to give a realistic preview of the project because we changed portions of the deck to white. Gary told us those documents would come from the admin team--but we never heard from Jordan again. On Monday, March 9th, workers showed up at our door at 7 a.m. stating they were starting the project . We rushed to get preliminary HOA approval while texting Gary that we still needed those documents. He would occasionally text or call saying he was "working on them." I escalated the issue to corporate and spoke with a representative who agreed the situation was unacceptable and said someone would follow up--no one ever did. We never received a call from corporate, and we never received the documents from Gary. Eventually, he stopped communicating with us entirely for the remainder of the project. As for the project itself, the deck is beautiful--I'll give them that. However, here are my issues: 1. Part of the scope included relocating the deck steps. When they cut down the old steps, they didn't remove the wood from the ground--it was still sticking out. 2. Nails and debris were left all over our backyard. 3. The pergola and final project look nothing like the rendering (pictured above). The field PM, Donnie, explained that what was written in the contract doesn't match the rendering, and they go strictly by what's on paper. Now we have to spend even more money to have it stained to match what we were originally sold. In other words, the rendering was a misrepresentation of what we paid for. They weren't able to complete the project right away due to additional issues and missing pieces, but it was ultimately finished on March 31st. Of course, they had no problem calling and emailing about final payment that day. Donnie was the only person who finally provided the documents and made an effort to address some of the other issues I don't even have the energy to list--but take my advice: this company is not the 5 star experience I thought they would be. They sold us a vision, did a vague contract and got us with the "oh sorry...the rendering doesn't match the contract...we go by contract print only." We had to get an attorney involved just to get them to get someone out here to remove the step stumps and debris. The only reason we didnt proceed with a fight in court is because we had a new baby in the midst of the mess didn't want the added stress. We paid nearly $40K for a project that still needs additional work, and we were treated terribly throughout the process and from the entire corporate team. Let us take the loss for you--find a different company.

He wired my basement wrong to where I didn't have power to half of my property & cut the internet line. I had to pay over $300 to other technicians to restore power & internet. I still have the contract that states he is to complete the job agreed upon. & yet, he still has not responded to my texts, calls or voicemails I have left him. I had to hire a different company to finish the room. They told me he made off with $1400 of the $1600 down payment I paid as he used the wrong materials & had amateur work. I'm a single mother who was paying who I thought was a knowledgeable contractor to complete a single room in my basement for my grandmother. He's untrustworthy & I say stay clear.
