We were very happy with our stay. Its not the cheapest hotel, but we got a pretty good deal for two nights. The hotel is within walking distance from Roma Termini train station, but we were so exhausted after a long flight we decided to take a taxi. The ride only cost 10 euro with tip, but be warned, they drive CRAZY in Rome. I personally enjoy it, but it could scare the crap out of some people.
The staff at the hotel were some of the best I've come across at any hotel. Super friendly and speak good english which made things very easy.
All the major attractions are a relatively short walk, but if your feet are sore the subway or taxi is your best bet..
For dinner there are a number of good restaurants close by. The first night we ate at Ai Fienaroli which is a little more casual and was decent. The second night we went to Lo Stil Novo which is a fancier restaurant and was definitely the better of the two. Plus it is less than a block up the street (for you ladies wanting to wear high heels). The other great benefit of this location is a Despar grocery store right next door. Do yourself a favor and buy bottled water here before walking around all day. A big 1 liter bottle is 50 cents. Its way cheaper than buying it from anywhere else in town. They have a ton of alcohol, beer and wine. Plus various snacks. I recommend finding the chocolate filled mini croissants.
The hotel itself is very nice. The rooms are small, but comfortable. High recommended for a short stay in Rome! read more
