I used to go to this place for years. His prices kept going up and up and up. They didnt even do that good a job but on top of that, and most importantly, the last time I went in there to have something hemmed I was talking to the owner and mentioned to him how I've been a loyal customer over the years, and his response was "doesn't matter to me one way or another". We were not even having an argument about anything. He's very cocky and arrogant. I have since found a place called Tonya's Tailoring in Cromwell Connecticut who does an absolutely amazing job for a fraction of the cost!!!! I would never go back to Roma's. I've recently lost some weight and have been shopping around for someone to alter the waist on my dress pants. I stopped in with three dress pants needing altering and dry cleaning. I chose Roma due to their reviews. Their pricing was middle of the road. The cheaper places had bad reviews, and the pricier places were too expensive. The reviews plus the pricing convinced me to give them a try. They did not disappoint. I was helped quickly. A gentleman had me try on the pants and pinned them up. I was in and out in 10 minutes. I stopped in a week later and they were ready. They were closing in five minutes so I decided to take them home and try them on. They were PERFECT. The sizing was exactly as pinned, the stitching looked great (looked like the factory stitching), and the dry cleaning was great. The creases were razor sharp! HORRIBLE!! I asked for pants tailored and they were extremely over charged and mediocre quality. Do not recommend!!

What a disaster! We paid a substantial amount of money to have a suit tailored for my son. He wore the suit last weekend in a Phoenix wedding. He said pants seemed too short and he was in the bridal party! He returned to PA for an interview today and I see the suit. The suit was actually ruined by this tailor. The back hem of the pants were shorter than the front. After interview we went to our tailor in PA. She could not believe the short cuts taken with these pants. Showed me all the mistakes made and what was done wrong. Awful! Now we have to pay more money to make the pants look presentable for future use. I did not have her look at the jacket, but probably would have found poor workmanship. Shame on you for taking advantage of us. We placed our trust in you. read more

This is the most professional, reasonably priced, high-quality tailor I've ever been to. Walter talks through the options if you're looking to alter a garment, and is very open-minded with providing solutions to design issues. I bought an A-line skirt that was very unflattering- I wanted to make into either a pencil skirt or pants. Walter was very communicative and analytical about how we can fix it. He actually listens! Very helpful staff. I dropped off my dry cleaning and asked them to fix my slacks. They said no problem. I even had my softball bag to fix in which they suggested the shoe store in the same plaza. I went here a few months back to get a newly purchased suit tailored for a wedding. I decided to have it tailored here due to positive reviews on Yelp and in the Hartford Courant, but after having worn the suit a few times I have realized that the work was done quickly and without proper care. The suit jacket was tailored well but the trousers which I had let out in the seat and the waist ended up fitting too large. Also the seam on the crotch of the suit pants was sewn unevenly and has created awkward wrinkling. In addition there are loose strings of fabric hanging from where the pants were resown. Frankly, I came to this tailor because of its positive reputation and I feel as though I payed somewhat of a premium, for the area, and recieved underwhelming service. read more

I have been going to Roma's for 20 years, since I was in school. Roma's is the best in the area - fantastic tailoring and decent prices. I once brought a suit in on a Saturday afternoon and asked if they could tailor it that afternoon so I could wear it that night and Walter was very accommodating and had it ready that day. I have had suits tailored by in-store tailors at different department stores who offered free cuffing and had to have the work redone by Roma's. I wouldn't trust my clothes to anyone else. I had never been to an actual tailor and was (foolishly) going to just verbally ask for what I needed done...However the owner insisted I put the dress on for him to see. altering pants pricing was okay but the job was not good. I always get my pants tucked in a little and I've never had any issues with it bc they know to tuck it in at the right places; here, the way they tucked it in causes a bulge in the back and just looks unflattering. i recently moved here so I've been going to another tailor. don't think ill be going back, unfortunately. read more
