DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM RAMANO MAZDA - Especially if it's not a Mazda! I bought a used car from Ramano Mazda back in March and it has been one of the worst experiences I've ever had. Just three days after purchasing the vehicle, the check engine light came on. I immediately notified the dealership, and instead of actually addressing the issue, they simply turned the light off. Unsurprisingly, it came back on just 10 or less days later. After getting the code read elsewhere, I was informed it was a completely different issue than what they claimed. That's when the real runaround began. Because the vehicle is a Volkswagen, Ramano Mazda said they couldn't service it and I had to wait for an appointment with their sister dealership, Ramano Volkswagen - which was booked out three weeks. During that time, no loaner was provided because Mazda said it was Volkswagen's responsibility and vice versa. No one wanted to take accountability. After WEEKS of back and forth, it turned out the engine gasket cap needed to be replaced - a repair costing nearly $5,000. Luckily they agreed to cover it, because this was something that clearly should have been caught BEFORE selling the car. But the nightmare didn't stop there. The car was STILL driving weird. When I brought it back, I was told it needed another $1,500+ worth of work - which they refused to cover. This included brake pads/rotors below 3mm, worn ball joints, loose control arm bushings, tire rotation, and recommendations for replacements. NONE of this information was disclosed and when asked they said they "missed and it slipped through the cracks." How this car supposedly passed inspection is beyond me. Either they overlooked major issues and lied on the inspection which is a lawsuit in itself or just didn't care. As a young black woman, I felt completely taken advantage of. No one took me seriously or helped me until I brought my step father and boyfriend into the conversation and they demanded resolutions. The level of disrespect, lack of transparency, and complete disregard for customer care is disgusting. I do not recommend buying from Ramano Mazda, especially if the car is not a Mazda. Once they get your money, they're done with you. Save yourself the stress and go somewhere else where they actually stand behind the vehicles they sell. read more

Bought a brand new Mazda 3 here in 2014, and nearly 200,000 miles later it is still driving beautifully. The key is to service it regularly, unlike many people who put it off or don't know about common things like rotating tires or changing air filters. I've always been treated well and fairly with the work they've done. My only complaint is that they are booking appointments about 4 weeks out these days. So, make sure you make your appointment a month before you need it. You can do this online. read more

We had a 2021 Mazda 6 lease. When it was time to turn it in, we really didn't want another Mazda, but we owed $1200.00 in excess mileage. We looked at a Mazda CX5 and decided that we could live with that, if they would eat the mileage on the other Mazda. They agreed. A few weeks later I got a bill for the excess milage. I figured a mix up happened and I got the bill before Romano took care of it. So I ignored it. Recently I got a notice from Mazdas collection agency saying the bill is in collection. My girlfriend took the car in for an oil change (we also had a nightmare experience with our 1st oil change). She showed the bill to the general manager Steve Abdel-Aziz. He kinda side stepped the issue, suggesting to her that she call Mazda Financial and maybe they could work with us. She said... "no... you agreed to take care of the milage overage if we leased a new Mazda." Well.... now he's denying it. I immediately drove there and spoke to him. I told him that he needed to take care of this. He didn't like that. I told him he agreed to pay off the milage if we took the deal. That was part of the reason we even looked at another Mazda. Well now the conversation got really heated. At that point he said the conversation was over. He told me to contact my lawyer. As I left I called him every name in the book. Something I am not proud of. But this man was a liar and he knew he was screwing us. I will contact all of the resources I have researched and file anything I have to do. I will also reach out to my attorney. I have never experienced such a blatant disregard for a customer as I did today. He is just a horrible human being. He was willing to work with me to crunch numbers and to find the car I was looking for. I felt respected, valued, and like I was important. He wasn't just trying to sell me a car-- he wanted to make sure I was safe and happy. We chatted like old friends, and it made what could have been a stressful experience one that was light hearted and pleasurable. I highly recommend him. Looked at a used Mazda MX-5 Miata . A week later we made an offer. They had just brought the car back from auction because it would not sell. The Salesman called back and said that someone would be there in a half hour and we would have to put a down payment to hold the car at our offer. They told my wife that it was ours. A half hour later the salesman called saying if these people offer the original price they would sell to them. The next day they called and asked if we still wanted the car!!! Hell no. They took a down payment , made a verbal contract and then tried to sell it out from under their word. I have made a complaint to Mazda and the AG of New York . Crooks!!!! DO NOT USE !! I have been trying to work with the sales representative to resolve these issues but have not received help and had been ignored by the sales representative on a couple of occasions. I ensured him that it absolutely has to be less than $300/month and he stated yes it will definitely be less than $300. I left the current dealership I was at drove all the way across town wasted my gas and time only to be told it's $335/month even though he ensured me it would be "absolutely less than $300". Nick wanted to change the brake fluid .. i said ok .. then i mentioned the cars inspection is due at the end of August .. i told him if it will pass do it today ..if not i will correct any issues and come back . Nick informed me it needed tires .i said ok . My buddy owns a tire shop i will have new ones installed and come back .. Nick said no .. either new tires today .. now .. or he would fail it on inspection . First... I'd like to start out by saying that it has taken me an inordinate amount of time to write this. I am, for lack of a more forceful term, outraged concerning the treatment I received by Romano Mazda, and perplexed by the unethical tactics they used during negotiations with my wife and myself while leasing a vehicle from them. With the obviously angry reaction posed by myself about this situation... I feel it necessary to explain what transpired when leasing a new vehicle from them! During the "financial disclosure" portion of the lease, with a heavy heart I advised them [with my wife present] that she had stage IV cancer and may not survive the term of the lease. The answer they immediately gave me (without me even finishing my statement), was that IF that unfortunate event were to take place during the lease term with them, they would buy the vehicle back... "no problem". I must admit that my wife was not feeling well that particular day and that all I was interested in doing was to put a smile on her face by acquiring the car that she wanted. To continue... I should have gotten the "No Problem" answer in writing... but I didn't! My fault! I later learned that I had made a serious mistake by NOT getting the "No Problem" promise  written into the contract. I briefly inquired about it and they said it wasn't necessary. While thinking  back to that moment, my wife was in awful pain that day! Since the numbers looked right and she just wanted to go home, they had me co-sign the lease agreement. To put it bluntly, my wife's credit was better than mine at that time. Together with her now "fixed income" by being out of work due to her illness, the numbers were actually brought back into line by my cosigning.  It got the price where it should be and where I was comfortable. I know cosigning would normally make me liable for it in the event that my wife passed during the lease term. I did ask, and I did receive the "Yup, no problem, we will take care of you and buy it back" statement.  I signed where I was supposed to, and the deal was done. I was originally was recommended to Romano Mazda by a friend and ended-up purchasing a Mazda 6 that I was very happy with. When I traded that in I went to Romano Ford. I actually enjoyed doing business with the Romanos and how well they treated me, so there was no question in my mind as to why I would not have my wife do business with them too!  Well... they sure "took care of me (us)"! Shortly after my wife passed and her payment was coming up I informed them of her passing and how do I go about returning the vehicle. Essentially it's in my name now, I'm responsible. To turn it back in will cost $4,000. I literally had the funeral services a few days prior for my wife, and to say I was shocked would be an understatement. Then came the "I was told my **** and **** yes" by more than one person that you would buy it back no problems. Nope! I even spoke with the General Manager and after telling him what my wife and I were told he stated that "The people that told you that don't have the authority to say it! He followed that up with "...and don't say anything that will make it look like I don't want to help you", essentially accusing me of lying about what two employees had originally told us. Seriously, this story brings tears to my eyes. I'm trying to explain my situation and he threatens me without even beginning to try to resolve the problem!. In the end, I had to take out yet another loan... but I paid the $4,000 to return my wife's vehicle. I implore the owners of Romano to reach out to me about this situation! None of the Romano employees would provide that information to me in order to contact you. The GM did reach out to me, and our conversation was essentially a slap to my face. I had no intention of writing this "tell all" about my experience with the Romanos. If nothing  else gets accomplished, I just hope that this will inform those who venture there for their car needs to realize that it really is about the dollar for the Romano Dealerships, not the customer service. I thought they prided themselves on that. It's just sad and still hurts knowing and recalling how they took advantage of us. While the business end surely does revolve around the dollar... I can say with all reserve that they have no compassion whatsoever! To assert that I'm a liar is just plain ludicrous. I would also like to implore and/or urge ALL who read this that the best thing that you can ever do for yourself in any situation involving money OR important transactions of any sort: GET IT IN WRITING! I wish there was a way to give less that 1 star. My husband and I leased a cx-9 from Romano almost 3 years ago. Last month it started on fire in our driveway. We had it towed to Romano. They had the car for a week, and after working with engineers from Mazda USA, were unable to find the cause. They insisted that I file a claim with my insurance. I let Romano and Mazda USA know that I felt Mazda should look into this further because my insurance company paying for repairs without knowing the cause was unsafe. At that point, I had a conversation with the GM Steve which didn't go well at all. I found him to be arrogant and condescending. He spoke over me, interrupted me, and repeatedly reminded me of my obligations to Mazda. He even threatened to charge me a $50/day storage fee if I didn't file an insurance claim. Then the very next day I got a call from the service manager letting me know that the car was on its way back to my house and that they would no longer be speaking to me about the issue. I specifically asked them not to bring the car back because I didn't trust having it near my home. They didn't care. They dropped it off with a letter stating that they were unable to find the cause, wouldn't be speaking to me further, and would not work on the car either. We were 3 months from the end of our lease and no one from Romano or Mazda USA would do anything to help us. They had complete disregard for my family's safety and that of others driving that same car. My husband and son were in that car minutes before it started on fire. And they wanted me to just fix it even without knowing what happened. I will never, ever buy a Mazda or shop with Romano again. Do better Romano! read more

On Monday, April 22, 2019, I had to bring my newer model vehicle into this shop for a minor recall [ vehicle computer update]. This was my first experience with this company having purchased this vehicle out of state approx. 2 years ago. I called ahead and had an appointment. I was greeted by Service Manager Nick Skinnard who could not have been more accommodating & professional. He prepared the paperwork and added on an oil change and NYS Inspection without hesitation or excuses. Nick then directed me to the waiting room. WOW....clean, neat orderly with very comfortable seating, desk areas and wide selection of magazines, TV etc. Not only did they have ten varieties of coffee & tea, they had water, flavored water, soda, fruit juice, snacks and again....the place was SUPER CLEAN and comfortable. Nick came out to me twice to update me is if I was the only customer. He kept me posted and before long my recall & service work was completed. I bought my 2014 Rav4 XLE there with just 20k miles on it. Before my 1st payment was even due, the nightmare began. Water was leaking from the firewall area (not the a/c or sunroof drain) and I went 2x to have it looked at, both times I was told it was dry. I told them under the carpet sounds like a wet sponge. The 3rd time I lifted the carpet and it was a swimming pool, the passenger floor was rusted. They did not want to remove the carpet to dry it let alone replace the carpet. I had to call their Toyota dealership to try to get help and advice. Service said running the vehicle with the heat on and windows closed is not the proper way to dry it, the carpet needs to come out. Finally, they took the carpet out and painted the rusty floor. The general manager has spoken to me in such a condescending manner that I am uncomfortable even going there. He has told me that my salesman warned him about me. I worried that there was evidence of mold already starting on the carpet and pad and it smelled musty. At first they offered to get pad from Michaels Craft Store, but after a lot of back and forth they agreed to replace the carpet. Then, Steve, the general manager decided he had an idea. Before ordering the carpet or putting my car back together, he wanted me to look at another Rav4 (Limited) they were taking in on trade. He said he could give me a great deal on it but it has 66k miles on it. I agreed to at least look at it when it got there. Meanwhile, they weren't supposed to put my old carpet back in, but they did "by mistake". So I went to look at the other Rav4 and he wanted $24.9k for it. He said he would give me what I paid for mine ($19.4). Oddly enough their Toyota dealership has a 2014 Rav4 Limited with only 32k miles on it for $24.9 and one with 14k miles for $25.9. Clearly the one he wanted to trade me is not a good deal at all! I told him I am not looking to spend more money for more miles. I would be out the tax on mine and I have added a trailer hitch, side molding, and door edge molding that I would also be out. Then he offered me $600 in service credit, which wouldn't nearly cover the cost of new carpet and labor. He seemed to want to do anything so they come out ahead and do not end up replacing my carpet. I told him I would prefer to have it replaced. I know how towels that got musty dry and ry smell ok but once they get wet they stink. I worried this would happen with the carpet, wet feet, snow, etc. He was just as rude to me in person as he was on the phone. Too much for me to type but at one point I said "you have had my car more than I have and it is taking up much of my 90day warranty", he replied " I am walking away now". I have never yelled, or been rude to any of these people. I felt that paying them a good deal of money for an SUV, I shouldn't have a moldy swimming pool. Is that so much to ask? read more

Over the years I have done business with Steve, the current GM of this store when he was at their former Chevy dealership, The Jeep/ Chrysler location, and now their Mazda store. I have not always bought something on his lot, not infrequently it has come from one of the other stores - but I have always, always felt fairly treated. If I have ever had an issue with a car service is prompt and loaners are arranged. I never ever recommend car places, this is the one exception. read more

My rating is based on my experience with General Manager Steven Abdel-Aziz. Sales Associate Matt was wonderful. I am in the market for a mid-size sedan. This is my first car purchase in 10 years. I had my mind set on a Camry, had some offers from one Toyota dealership, and was in talks with another, when I decided to give Mazda a try on Monday, October 17. I test drove a new 2016 M6 ($24,140 ) and a certified used 2016 M6 ($20,995). I explained that I originally had a budget of $18,000 for a used car, but that so far I loved the M6. This was my first time ever in one. Sales Associate Matt - did a great job of working with me - and I made it clear that I would go home to think about my options. I told him that I would not mind buying either of those cars if they could come down on the price. This was when the regional manager Steve came in. Typically - he was someone who tried to use charm - and a rather overbearing tactic while talking to me - but not listening. He kept trying to get me to apply for the Mazda credit - although I repeatedly told him that I did not need to. After about 20 minutes of going around on the numbers - he left - telling Matt to have me fill out a credit application. Matt came back with one - and I told him that I was not doing that; I was satisfied with the terms of the loan I had gotten from my credit union. I did loved the M6 - but as I had been looking at the Camry - I had not done any serious comparison shopping on it. I explained this to Matt - who made it clear that both of those cars could be sold while I made up my mind. He suggested that I leave a $500 REFUNDABLE deposit on at least one of them to hold until the next day. I was leery - and repeatedly asked him if I would absolutely get my money back if I decided not to buy one of those cars. He assured me I would. The next day - I test drove the used car again - and checked out both sounds systems. Matt asked what would it take for me to buy one of the cars. I said if Steve would come down $1,000 off either car, I would buy it tonight -otherwise - I just needed to do some comparative shopping to see what typical prices were. I asked about the Mazda 3 - which is cheaper - but he said he thought I would not be happy in one - that the M6 was a much better car and that all of their cars were already aggressively priced. Steve came into the office - and I repeated my request for a $1,000 reduction in price. He made it clear that he would not make that deal. I thanked Matt and him for their time - and Matt for all that he had taught me about the cars. I was disappointed - but not angry. I told Steve that it was not a problem - since I am was trying to save money, while they were trying to make money. I understood that. This conversation should have been over. But he would not let it go. Steve started in with the emotional manipulation and accusations. "Why would you do this to us?" Then - "Why would you waste your time and this man's time too then not buy a car?" "For someone with all of these degrees, why are you so unreasonable?" At that point - I became angry - I told him that I did not like the way he was talking to me, and it was best that I go. "You put a deposit on a car and we expected you to buy it!" I was done - I said - "What do you mean I put a deposit on it? I repeatedly asked Matt if I could get my money back if I did not buy the car. He assured me that it was just to hold it while I made up my mind! I will make sure to write about this experience on social media." He responded with "What, are you threatening me?" - That was my cue to leave! Something in his demeanor and those words were very unnerving to this woman! He told Matt to go get my check, but as I waited STEVE himself brought it to me with a snide comment - "Just to continue our good customer service - we did not even deposit your check" and he walked off. Talking to his back, I responded - "You had no RIGHT to deposit my check." Matt - I could tell was in an awkward situation. Again - I thanked him. He was still cordial to me - and I said - "I am sorry that you work for such an asshole," and I left. This did not need to nor should it have ended this way! read more

I have visited this repair facility several times in the past with nothing bad to say. Always prompt and repairs completed as promised. This last visit my wife brought in her 2016 Mazda CX 5 for a safety recall. I typically rotate my own tires due to issues I have had with other shops in their careless handling of the alloy wheels. As I didn't have time to do it this week I figured how hard can this be? Just a simple tire rotation as the car just went over 8000 miles. We'll you guessed it, they scratched two of the four wheels. Not deep gouges but scratches on the wheel that should never have happened. A little care would have avoided this. A small scratch in the coating on these wheels is all it takes for road salt and anything else to get under the coating and the corrosion starts. Again, being a little careful is all I ask. The cost to replace one of these premium wheels can cost up to $600. The response I got was" you can stop in the body shop and they can look at it". Really?? I don't have the time or desire to go back. read more
