Had a late lunch early supper. The place was pretty empty at the time we arrived. But people were arriving as we left. This appears to be a small family restaurant. I ordered chicken piccata and my husband had shrimp scampi. The portions were huge. Both came with a side salad with creamy Italian dressing which was good. We also ordered the garlic bread with cheese which had a side of marinara. Best bread in a long time. Both plates were excellent. Under a sea of pink sauce was a thin chicken cutlet with a slice of ham and mozzarella cheese. The side of spaghetti was lightly dressed with oil and garlic. Tasty, but a little dry. I was not expecting authentic Italian cuisine in Elk City but Romas does a good job with a variety of Americanized Italian menu items. I had the oven roasted Penni with lots of cheese. Stayed at a nearby hotel for the night and this restaurant was across the parking lot. The restaurant is unassuming and we weren't expecting much but it turned out to be one of the best Italian dinners I've had in a long time. The menu was diverse and the prices were modest. They have beer and wine which was a big plus after a long drive. The meals came with a basket of delicious homemade rolls as well as a side salad with an unusual homemade red Italian dressing. Stopped during road trip home with our dog. Called for take out. Ordered spaghetti with meat balls, salad and garlic bread. Brought food back to hotel room. Excellent food. What an amazing place to dine in the middle of nowhere. Their bread sticks are fresh and delicious. I love how their bread is hot and crusty. It comes with that ever you will order. Also there is a salad that comes with it. So I ordered Crab Ravioli. In description it said that it will be topped with a crab meat. However while I was eating it I discovered that there was no crab meat at all. In stead of crab meat it was crab sticks however It was delicious. I enjoyed it. The teramisu cake was pretty delicious. Unfortunately, the food was the worst we've had at a restaurant in years. We decided to give Roma's a second try as our first experience (a few years back) was bad. This time, my husband's chicken parmesan was tough and overcooked and inedible. My tortellini was fine but they slapped round sliced ham pieces on top and it was weird and didn't taste good. We had the pleasure of overhearing some of the most hilarious conversations ever when we stopped for a bite to eat at Roma's. This was my first time in Oklahoma and I had no idea what to expect. The inside of the restaurant definitely gives off old-school feelings, we were greeted and seated immediately. I wasn't in the mood for anything heavy so I ordered the soup of the day, which was minestrone. My friend got a pasta sampler and was particularly excited about the manicotti, something that I've never heard of or seen before. We were surprised when six bread knots came to the table as we both could've easily filled up by splitting that amount of bread alone. The pasta sampler came as a generous portion but there wasn't actually any manicotti to be found in it--slightly disappointing. I think I've only ever had minestrone soup once or twice before, and this soup was relatively average. I wish the pasta in it was a bit more al dente instead of on the softer side, but hey that's soup for you. I forgot exactly what the funny conversations we overheard entailed but I remember getting a couple of good chuckles out while we were there. Apparently someone ordered a dish with ham thinking that it meant hamburger, and the server seemed to be telling the cook that the customer didn't want the classic pork product. Someone else ordered a salad and then said that they don't eat vegetables once the salad arrived at the table, and somewhere in the conversation someone gave someone else verbal permission to smack somebody. If this is what I can expect to overhear everywhere in Oklahoma I'll surely be back, but I've never heard this level of lighthearted banter anywhere else in the country before. Our server was also very personable, made good conversation, and made us feel welcome. Even if the food might not be out of the world, the ambiance is definitely one of a kind. read more

Not sure about the previous reviews. Our waitress may have been new, she recommended the house dressing for the salad, i came as chopped up lettuce with ketchup on top, couldn't eat it. My chicken fettuccine was barely edible after I piled parmesan from the shaker on it (not fresh). The chicken was definitely frozen out of a bag. Our expectations were low when we tried this place by our hotel kind of out in the middle of Nowhere, Oklahoma but now we need to reset our expectation bar to judge all Italian food by this level of awesomeness! Darn... I stuck around long enough for one of my local favorites to disappoint me. I had a serious craving for manicotti. However, I couldn't stick around and dine-in. I decided to call in a to-go order as I was standing in the check out line in Walmart. A gentleman answered the phone. I stated I wanted to place a carryout order. He sighed and asked for my number. I gave it to him, which is not a local number to Elk (um, I don't live in Elk, so why would I have a local number), to which he replied, "are you even in Elk City?" I responded yes, and he sighed again and said, "hold on." He picked the phone up about 20 seconds later, asked my name as if in a hurry, then asked what I would like. Listen, I've been to this restaurant easily two dozen times in a year. I know exactly what and how to order. So I responded I'd like the manicotti with the house dressing. He responded, "oh, you want a salad too", which it comes with a salad, and I responded that it came with a salad. He said, "no it doesn't". Hmmm...so I asked since when did this change happen. He didn't respond, so I asked if it was because it is carryout. He hesitated, then said yes. Ok, you know I get it. I was a restaurant manager for a few years. So I ask him how much, expecting this tiny salad to be a dollar (because to go boxes for salads are tiny, as I'm sure you know). He said, "well, I don't know. I'd have to look." Hmmm...ok, I ask for a ballpark. He says, "well, I don't know, probably 3 dollar or so". Whoa, seriously? I even ask him for the small salad that normally comes with the meal, to which he confirms yes. Understand this dialogue unfolded while he is being pretty rude, audibly sighing, as if I was intruding on his day. After hearing another sigh I said, "you know, just cancel it all. I'll go somewhere else." He didn't even try to save the order. He says, "ok" and hangs up! No thank you, no polite greeting, just a flippant OK and a disconnect! So unfortunately, I'm apprehensive about giving this location my business again. It's a shame too, as every time I go in there it's with a group: easily $100+ a table, and we tip well. No worries for me. I'll get my Italian fix elsewhere. read more

This is a very good restaurant. We got the pepperoni pizza, chicken Alfredo pasta, meatballs and sausage with pasta, and lasagna. Everything was perfect! Even their salad and bread was amazing! They make their food from scratch. It's not sitting out or anything. You can tell they put their all into the food they make. I highly recommend this restaurant. The food came pretty quick too, we didn't sit long at all. The waiters here are very polite and quick paced. Keep up the amazing work here! read more

I have a large soft spot for homemade Italian dishes- my adopted dad made homemade sauce and cooked all of his dishes with love- I have not been able to find that until today! Stopped here because A. It was close to the hotel B. My niece is super picky on food... that all said... she ate more than she has at any other place on our trip from NY to NM. The owner was so nice and welcomed all customers in like family. He took time at each table and the place was pretty busy. He made the picky eater's plate exactly as she asked for- The sauce was spot on as was the homemade noodles and the garlic bread. Back after 3 years and updating to 5 stars. Best Italian food we have ever had, out here in the middle-of-nowhere Oklahoma. Couldn't leave this at 4 stars because it really couldn't be improved. It's a little pricy but the portion sizes are enormous. Meatball parmigiana was heavenly. Delicious meatballs finely ground to perfection. Slightly sweet marinara sauce at the perfect consistency. Homemade noodles just the right thickness. And that ooey, gooey cheese all over the meatballs...this is exactly what I want Italian food to be. The perfect Italian meal. My parents had the eggplant parmigiana and the manicotti, enjoyed both just as much as I enjoyed mine. If you're passing through, wait to eat until Elk City or eat early, it's worth it. Great find! On a road trip. Stayed in Elk City at La Quinta Inn (which is great by the way!). Roma's is conveniently across the street. Tired of road fast food so we held off and ordered takeout. Delicious! We had chicken piccata, Greek salad + chicken and a side of meatballs. Asked for a delayed pickup, timed it for our arrival. Food was piping hot and just out of the kitchen at my arrival time. Everything was flavorful and satisfying. Way better than another Big Mac in the car. If you're staying in Elk City go here.
