Give yourself a little extra time before your appointment. SEATING The shop can accommodate about four customers at a time if all the barbers are in. VIBES Pacific Beach is one of San Diego's signature gems. Beautiful coastline, a lot of personality, and a laid-back culture where flip-flops and hoodies are perfectly acceptable attire. As for the shop itself, the moment you walk in, you realize it's equal parts barbershop, lifestyle brand, and community space. The decor is modern and artistic, with subtle homages to their Jersey roots that make the space feel curated rather than corporate. There's always something going on--music playing in the background, an occasional live DJ set, or a big game on TV. It feels less like a business and more like a gathering spot. SERVICE I had Boobi, and he was a cool dude. He knew his stuff, paid attention to the details, and was genuinely enjoyable to converse with. TL;DR OVERALL 5 Stars. Reasonable prices, great service, and an overall pleasant experience. This isn't your traditional barbershop. Good shops give cuts; great shops give cuts and community. Admittedly my hair had grown a bit long, but I though this would make the haircut easier for my barber; a blank canvas. It is also relevant to note that I have very curly hair. I got a haircut from David. I asked for around one inch off the top and a skin fade. Instead, I had all my curls brushed out (while dry, ouch. I definitely felt some of my hairs get ripped out) and was told I may need to cut a bit more off. I told him it's fine, as I had assumed, given that my hair was now frizzy/straight b.c of the brushing, he may need to cut 1.5 inches or 2 inches instead of the 1 inch I hoped for while my curls were still intact. I proceeded to get a very high fade (fade starts above my temples and wraps around) with essentially a 12mm guard buzz cut. Not only that but it's uneven. TLDR; I paid over 50 dollars and I'm wearing hoodies or hat for the next 3 weeks to cover up my hair. That's how bad it turned out. Stay away from this place. Especially if you have curly hair, they have no idea how to cut it.
