For $12 he gets a great haircut. I recently tagged along as we were trying something new with his hair and I wanted to show her a picture. I stuck around as she carefully trimmed all of the tiny hairs around his ears and around the bottom of his hair line. She's amazing and meticulous! I was a little skeptical at first, but for a $12 cut, I decided to give this place a try. I was sick of the higher priced lazy cuts you get at Supercuts and needed a new go-to place. The woman who cut my hair paid extreme attention to detail and gave me the exact cut I asked for without rushing even one bit. I can't tell you how many times she would look closer, go back and make little cuts just to get the details right. That's what I like about a barber shop. Plus, a razor shave on the back of your neck! Bonus, and why I'm giving 5 stars, is because even when customers walked in 5 minutes before closing, she let them sit down and said she'll take care of them next. Came in for a cut on a Monday afternoon. Had alright hair that was a bit too long. Came out looking absolutely ridiculous. The only thing that I can do is shave my head at this point. What I asked for and what I got were two very different things... virtually every hair at the top of my head is uneven now, looking like a cabbage patch kid. Just like the reviews state, it is a wait. Annie works alone and she takes her time. I spent about an hour and a half there. However, I will say that the quality of the cut is excellent, especially for the price. Also, she puts a movie on which is great (also, it was only my first time and I caught the end of one movie and the beginning of another movie during my time there but I think she really likes movies with Drew Barrymore, which I found amusing and adorable), cookies & sweets. This place is my favorite barbershop I've found since moving down to San Diego. I'm not sure what her name is yet (I'll ask next time and update this) but she's a stud with a pair of scissors in her hands! There's usually always a line when you show up, and for good reason. If there is, expect to be there a while because she takes her time with each customer. That was by no means a criticism, it highlights how dedicated she is to doing a great job each time. The time passes by quickly though cause she's always got movies playing (last time was Harry Potter) and has snacks at the cashier in case you get hungry. The lady here pays super close attention to detail and gave me exactly what I wanted. I was skeptical at first because of how few reviews there were but I decided to give it a try, esp. since cuts are only $12 here. I'm still so shocked that you get a really high quality service for so much less than what most barbershops usually charge. I decided to get a light taper on the side, the tips of my top just trimmed, my sides blended into the top, and my top thinned out/texturized quite a bit. Near the end of my cut, I noticed that my sides weren't as vertically straight as I preferred, so I pointed it out to her and she made adjustments without a problem! The lady herself is a little soft spoken, but she's really attentive to her customers. Whether you like to start a conversation with your barber or not, she'll math whatever dynamic you put out there. I also really enjoyed that she took the time to finish my cut with a straight-razor shave and a mini rub with Old Bay rum. Walk-ins are fine here, the price is low, and I didn't have too much of a wait (only one person in front of me when I arrived). Definitely coming back here again! read more
