Absolutely love this place. Was really nervous to try it--thought there was no way it could be clean--and wasn't sure my baby or I would like it. But WOW, we do love it, and it is clean, and we go here all the time now! Classes are fun and engaging, open play time is great, the staff are welcoming and helpful, and the families who go here are generally very friendly and nice to socialize with. Had my son's 1st birthday party there and it was a blast! From the time you enter to the end everything was taken care of. All I had to do was enjoy his birthday with him. They set everything up for me as well as took care of the cake cutting and serving. All the little kids and parents also had such a wonderful time. Age appropriate activities were planned as well as music. They were also very accommodating to our timing. As everyone with little kids knows you are never truly on time so they were able to add an additional 30 mins. Of course it was an additional charger, however the staff was very accommodating and we didn't feel rushed. Just wanted to thank Romp and roll & the team that made my son's 1st birthday party so memorable. Thank you, Akira, Kemiah, Amelia and Rompy! Updating this review to share my latest experience with my second baby! I'm so excited that Covid is calming down and I finally feel comfortable bringing my baby girl to classes. We've been twice now and I just love having this activity to do with her. I tend to gravitate toward the more structured classes because we can do play time at home! What I'm really excited for is when I can bring both of my kids at the same time and I'm so grateful for their mixed age times to allow families to do that. It's in a great location right next to a Publix and a Crumbl Cookies just opened up in the shopping center with outdoor seating. You can definitely make an afternoon out of it by grabbing lunch and then dessert after a class. The only thing I'd mention is that they are pretty over the top with trying to get you to join. Side note, the birthday parties look like lots of fun and I'll definitely keep it in mind for the future. read more

I had originally written a one star review, reflecting what I thought was completely blatant unprofessionalism, which I was mistaken entirely. Babz is a wonderful person. Hands down, the behavior and negligence of the staffing during a pandemic does not and will remain not being relatable to the way she runs this location. She believes in community and the children and families first, and has amazing communication normally when she actually gets the messages! Trust the fact that if there is ever an issue, she will address it directly and get it taken care of as fast as she possibly can. I am pleasantly relieved this was a mistake on my part. I have been taking my son here for ~7 months and he enjoys it each time. He is now 2.5 yrs and asks when we are going to see Rompy. The classes are great for his age and they have options for all ages. The timings can be challenging with a toddler, or kids in general, but you can cancel as class and be able to use it in the future if you cancel within a reasonable time. They are great with cleaning everything after each class. I like being able to take him during the afternoons/ early evenings so he can take his energy out. I appreciate all the teachers at Romp N Roll and the effort they put into each class. Teachers are attentive and use a personal approach for each child, which is really great to see. My kid is always running around during circle time and they are great with understanding his needs to just run and explore. This is def. a place to get a membership if you have young kids that need a place to get their energy out and to be in a fun and energetic environment. The pricing per class and membership fees to me, are very reasonable. read more

Cannot say enough wonderful things about the staff at this location. Jennifer the manager is kind and knows all kids by name as they walk in! Ms. Laura meets the two children I take care of at the door and knows them by name as well. Ms Laura, you can tell, loves kids she engages them and plays along with them. We have been taking our 1 1/2 yo son here for around a month now. We take him to the 45 min classes almost everyday. The staff is warm and pleasant. The facility is always clean and maintained. It has been a good experience for our son. We are able to slowly introduce him to a class-like setting and get him socializing a bit. He leaves each class smiling and happy. It also gives us a way for him to explore new climbing techniques while expending some energy. We purchased a monthly plan but were not charged a signup fee like some other reviewer stated. We have never been asked to purchase anything else while we have been there. read more

We have really enjoyed our first few visits to Romp n Roll. Daniel is a great teacher and provides developmentally appropriate instructions for kids (& education for the parents) with varying ages during the class. They do a great job of spacing out play time, sanitizing toys, and making everyone feel safe while allowing the kids to get in the socialization time that's so important. We have been going to Romp N' Roll for about a month now, and I have nothing but amazing things to say about it. First of all, they allow you a free introductory class to see if this is something you may be interested in doing with your child- after we tried the class I knew that we were going to become members! Currently we are taking the infant classes, and I appreciate the routine like activities that we do during each visit because my son now gets excited at the start of the class- which is sweet to see since he is only 5 months, but he understands now what is going on. The songs are catchy and the instructors introduce a sign language motion each visit. The instructors are very friendly and make the classes fun. You also get to meet other parents with children the same age, so it's a great way to network. read more

We ended up cancelling our Birthday Bash (for our 4yo) after they were adamant to charge us a "rescheduling fee" of $100. Due to unforeseen circumstances, we were trying to reschedule our party and move it one week earlier. They had a spot available on the day that we were hoping to get rescheduled to. But they declined to reschedule unless we pay $100 fine. I pointed out that the FAQ section on their web-site doesn't refer to any rescheduling fine, but they just wouldn't budge. They just curtly told us 'no'. Disappointed and dismayed, we just decided to cancel the party. Note: My rating doesn't reflect the quality of their facility and programs (which we didn't get to experience), but only their complete unwillingness to grant some leeway in planning a party. read more

The family and I visited this Romp n' Roll today for a friend's 2nd birthday party for their son. This was my first time visiting this location, but have been to other franchises (Chesterfield) before -- both times for birthday parties. This location was a bit smaller than the one on the Southside (Courthouse Rd / Midlothian Tnpk), but this location's staff was much more friendly, helpful, and energetic. For those that haven't been to RNR before, it is generally an open, padded gym with different activities for kids to play, climb, and, well, romp and roll on. Monkey bars, basketball hoops, climbing walls, etc. are all over the gym and has plenty to keep kids occupied. The approach for birthday parties was generally the same for both locations: a brief intro to the gym and the corresponding rules, as told by the party leaders and the stuffed mascot, Rompy. Then the kids get approximately 15 minutes to freely explore the gym, then the staff tries, with varying degrees of success, to corral the kids back to a central location for a set of organized group activities for another 15 mins, then 15 mins more free time, then more corralling. This went on for just over an hour, then the group moves to the party room for snacks and cake (for both parties, this has been parent-provided, not supplied by RNR). A big plus here is that RNR hypes "mess free parties" where they do all of the set up and clean up. After about 30 mins in the party room, kids are released back into the gym where the big draw for the 2nd half is an inflatable bounce-house. After 15 mins -- you guessed it -- more corralling, more structured activities, and then 15 mins of free time. Both parties lasted about 2 hours all together and the kids seemed to have a blast. I love the concept of RNR, and really like the mix of free play and structured activities, BUT, the constant back and forth is very unorganized, and, depending on the number of kids and their respective ages, it can take just as long as the activity itself to get the kids together for said activity. For older kids (3+), this is an easier task, but for a group of 2 year olds, it was utter chaos. In summation--good, clean fun with helpful staff, if you can tolerate organized chaos and LOTS of noise. If you are going to have a party here, I would recommend an age group of 3+. read more

The Kids Night Out is amazing. You can drop your kids off from 6-9pm on Friday night and they get to play and have dinner while you get some free time! My son just loves his time there! The classes are well structured for little, energetic people with plenty of options for free play and as well as encouragement for joining in on the group activities (musical instruments, singing games, bubbles, etc). I really appreciate how clean it is (using alcohol free hand sanitizer before and after and no shoes for parents and kids). There are multiple levels of commitment (we just have the 10 class pass for now) with no pressure to do anything else. We are new to Richmond and the State of Virginia in general so Romp N Roll has been a very nice welcome for us. The business is run with passion and a precise mission-minded quality. Our class this past Thursday at 12:30pm for Tumble Tunes with Miss Sarah was a heartwarming experience. Sarah exudes compassion, professionalism, patience, and a true love of craft. Her energy put me at ease and I enjoyed watching her engage my two sons with a creative and flexible approach to her job that reflected a person who truly wants children to enjoy learning. My daughter Charlie has been going to Romp n Roll at this location for about 8 months now. I originally sent her when she was about 2.5 years old. I wanted her to get comfortable going to classes and eventually with being dropped off at a class and with a teacher for a few hours because she was getting ready to go to preschool and I wanted to avoid meltdowns associated with her being scared of being without me. We started with the classes where I would come with her and eventually I enrolled her in Rompy's Adventure where I left her in the morning for a few hours. I can only say amazing things about the staff, how they interact with the kids, the amount of patience they have and the "curriculum ". Charlie adores Romp n Roll. She comes home with art, singing the songs and telling me all about her class. This summer I enrolled her in the Romp n Roll camp at CMOR (3 days a week from 9-12) and it's been a lifesaver. Her teacher Ms. Danielle is fantastic, Charlie has really latched onto her and also made lots of friends! Worth every penny! read more

My son won a few classes and free gym time at an event. When I called to get more information and explained I had another child (21 months apart) and asked if I could put her in classes with him and pay, they were amazing, I lost the free gym time (it would not have worked with our schedule) but they were able to offer me classes for both of my children that we could actually use. I was blown away. We attended our first class and our instructor Brooke was great. She was very sweet and patient. The prize my son won was split in half so that my other child could attend but that was great and fit our family and schedule so much better. Customer service has been great from the moment we talked on the phone to our first class, I would recommend to anyone. I wish we would have gone sooner. My children loved it. read more

Way too expensive and they find so many ways to charge you extra. When you first sign up, there's a "registration fee" of $40. Want to take more than five classes in a month? That's not part of the membership and costs extra. Oh you want to cancel? Too bad, you're getting charged an extra month membership anyway. "Our policy is we need to charge another billing cycle." Bull****. Never in my life has any service or membership I've had charged me an extra month after I want to cancel "just because." Amazing. read more

Amazing place. The young woman at the front desk, Aundraya was amazing with my daughter and very knowledgeable and super welcoming and helpful! First impressions are everything and this experience started off great. They have a wonderful text service to book your first free class and they are very responsive and easy to work with. The facility is amazing. Not too big and some unique equipment that kids love. We had a new trainee, 'coach' or 'teacher' who did an amazing job. Obviously a group of 3 year olds will NOT pay attention or follow structure well. She held the class together, kept the kids engaged and still allowed them to be free and have fun. We have attended many events at Romp n' Roll over the years - classes, camps and birthday parties starting in 2006. My son pulled up to standing for the first time during a Mommy and Me class there, and now, years later, he still loves his stuffed Rompy dog. He's had lots of fun times and encouragement in music, arts and physical skills over the years. We've found the instructors to be fun, kind and energetic. Am I the only one who finds it EXTREMELY DIFFICULT to get excellent customer service at Romp n' Roll? I have tried to cancel my membership with RnR, after moving my daughter from class to class hoping to find one that impressed us. The girl who claimed to handle my cancellation SIX MONTHS AGO did not cancel it and my card has been charged every month as usual. How hard is it to provide stellar service?? It's bad enough that you charge an exorbitant "termination fee." Every time I call I have to talk to a very young girl who clearly does not have incentive to improve lead generation. Forget about the owners--or a manager for that matter--picking up the phone in a timely manner or pecking out an email to address a concern. They completely ignore you and just hope you go away. Once you sign the contract, they have you tied in and they know it. PARENTS BEWARE!! The classes are brief, way too structured for free spirited and intelligent children, and most of the "free gym" times are smack in the middle of nap time. This is no accident. We are very unsatisfied with our experience at RnR. What a gyp. read more

My three-year old twins love Romp n' Roll on the West Side. While they are in school every day they go to an assortment of RNR classes in the afternoons and on weekends which they are always excited to go to. The staff is very accommodative and friendly. They know the twins well and are always happy to see them. They attended RNR summer camp last year and they are signed up again this summer. read more

A sick place for kids. My 24 months old son joined 2013 summer camp and i paid $500 for 12 classes. My son could attend only 7 classes and was sick for entire period of 3 months. He caught horrible virus and fever105 for 10 continuos days. I would not recommend anyone this place for young kids. read more
