We built a new home in Naples and our home builder used Ron and Sons as their Alarm and home theater company. We met with their rep ("Ronny") at the beginning of the process. He was nice and went over the options. When we spoke with Ronny we told him we were looking for Bluetooth speakers so we could play music from our phones in our home. We both work from home and I also game online so we wanted the fastest internet so we wanted plug in jacks in each room which they said would not be a problem. They also offered a security doorbell camera and stated our HOA pays for the monitoring service. So after speaking with Ronny we decided to add Cat6 wiring to the house, speakers for our pool area, speakers for our great room, and a video doorbell solution. Fast forward 10 months and out home is done and we get to move in. First there is no video doorbell installed. I talk to Ron and Sons and they state I need to sign up for the service first and again state that my HOA covers the service. After a lot of back and forth I find out they will pay for basic service which is if you have a land line (which we don't). So we have to sign up for a wifi adapter which is $10 a month. So we felt a little duped. I asked Ron and Sons to install the doorbell that we paid for without monitoring service so we could just use the app and they stated that wasn't possible. Second, after our internet is hooked up the outlets in each room don't work. The internet provider tells me Ron and Sons will have to come out to configure. Ron and Sons has still not been out to the property to correct this. We have lived here 6 months now. Third, the speakers are not Bluetooth at all which I am 100% sure we spoke about. To even get these speakers to work we needed to add an amp, a volume control for the inside speakers. Why would Ronny have let us leave the initial meeting knowing we would show up in our home with speakers that don't even work? On top of that, they wouldn't even let me transfer the money I paid for the doorbell to finish the audio setup. I would not do business with this company as I feel they lack integrity and have not even tried to make anything better. read more

We've been a customer of Ron and Son's for 3 years. Unfortunately we found out too late that our system didn't work. No communication coming from our system, thus no one notified should we find ourselves in an emergency. After having two scare's with no calls to ensure our safety from anyone. I called Ron and Sons who tested our system over the phone. They found that it was not working. I asked if they test their systems at least once a year to ensure their product is working correctly, the answer is no. The customer is responsible to initiate checking their system for accuracy. When one of the owners called to discuss he became defensive and made excuses. He felt this was my fault for not testing the system myself. He didn't like my suggestion to test their system at least once a year to ensure the product is working correctly. Ron expressed he's been in the security business a long time and knows what he's doing. Thankfully our scare at 1 AM was a false alarm. This could have been much worse. The owner didn't seem to care about that fact, he was more focused on being right and proving his point. He said he could send a tech out, however would charge for that. Considering their only job is to ensure homes are secured, one would think they would willingly want to test their product frequently or at the very least, when it fails, send someone out as a courtesy. I don't understand a business mentality when expecting the customer to initiate the job they are getting paid to do. Unprofessional service with no initiative to problem solve. We will be using ADT moving forward. read more

We were a loyal customer of Ron and Sons Home Security Service for eight years. This past May our alarm needed a new battery which was a service alert Ron and Sons received money to provide in our annual monitoring fee cost. Ron and Sons failed to alert us and instead fabricated a $100 service call to our home at which point their service technician said "You need a new battery" and further "You should have been told by the office". It should be noted that I replaced the previous two batteries....and would have been happy to do so again if Ron and Sons had done their job which we had paid them to do PATTI OF RON AND SONS (NO LAST NAME PROVIDED) SAID SHE WOULD NOT REFUND THE SERVICE CALL AND JUST HAD NO TIME TO NOTIFY US ABOUT OUR BATTERY NEEDING REPLACEMENT..."I WAS JUST SO SWAMPED"!} Nasty and argumentative and singularly not customer service oriented...PATTI speaking for Ron and Sons let a loyal eight year customer cease doing business. Had a very bad experience with this outfit. I hired them to install audio electronics in my vacation home. It wasn't rocket science; connect existing speakers from multiple rooms, surround sound; connect TV; audio inputs, etc. I was to meet them at the end of the installation day so I could get some instruction. They were a no show! I had made arrangements to come in from out of state, and they were a no show! What they left was 2 pages of handwritten notes and sketches on how to use the system! I tried to follow the directions, but only pieces of the system worked. And it was completely confusing. I called, expressed my abject frustration that they weren't there to meet me and demanded they make things right. They hung up. Why shouldn't they, I'm only the stupid customer who paid them IN FULL prior to the installation. Had another company come out to try to resolve the situation. Essentially, they said this wasn't the first time they've been called in to fix Ron & Sons mistakes. They told me I was oversold for my requirements. One of the pieces of equipment I was sold didn't work and needs to be replaced. And they didn't even get my basic requirements right. So most of the work needs to be re-done. Now we have added our home and installers were true professionals with great helpful attitudes. They are an honest and caring business that never tries to up sell you with the scare tactics of other security companies. We are delighted and would not consider using an impersonal national chain company or do it yourself security systems. Excellent company to deal with. They wired and installed everything in our new home and all worked perfectly from the start. Two years later our community changed cable providers and we just had Ron and Sons out to reprogram our universal remotes. Robbie arrived and was done in no time.
