I have seeing signs for this store since I was a little kid living in Florida but never went. Well while visiting cocoa beach to get out of Maine for the cold Spring weather we had to visit Ron Jon' surf shop. This place is MASSIVE and did not disappoint. Keep an eye out for 15% coupons around town before you go as they seem to be on all kinds of printed materials and 15% helps! The prices are not bad but why not! The original FL Ron Jon - this 2 story location is huge and well worth a visit. There's changing rooms upstairs on either end of the store, a massive clothing and clearance section, and so much to choose from. We were lucky enough to catch a space X launch right from the parking lot as we were leaving. Service was helpful and friendly. Love the beach vibes and will def return. read more

Nice shop with substandard customer service and personal who need training on how to serve the customer. I was at the customer service doing an exchange and didn't have a receipt for the new item and asked for a SOLD sticker for the board so it wouldn't be questioned. The girl couldn't be bothered to actually stick it on the item she peeled off a corner and stuck it to the item and then gave it to me with the garbage to throw out and to peel it off. Was it so much work to actually put the sticker on? The worst was being in line at their ridiculous checkout counter in the store which needs work. There should be one line and they serve everyone in turn. Instead you are left with meandering half lines in middle of store that no one knows if your in line or not. On top of that my wife and I waited for 5-6 people in front of us we get to the cashier and she informs us that she won't check us out as she is doing her last customer. Meanwhile they open another line on opposite side and instead of taking us there as next in line we had to wait between 5 other people again. Infuriating!!! Lastly million workers there. Not once ever asked if I needed help or assistance. Just a bunch of red shirts wandering aimlessly looking busy. Maybe as red shirts they should be left behind and replaced with a new cast. Updated: I upgraded the review to 4-stars (from 1) given the attention Ron Jon has given to my comments. They seem to care and that is a good thing. I'm truly impressed with the attention they've given this matter. Management wants to know how they can do better. Hopefully they make the appropriate adjustments. One of the best, if not the very best of gift shops on the East coast of Florida. I know they are not listed as a gift or souvenir shop on Yelp but they are that to me. They have good quality merchandise of all types including swimwear, hats, T-shirts, hoodies, sweatshirts, shorts and so much more such as surfboards, skimboards, skateboards, and beach accessories. This store is huge! Plan on spending some time here to make sure you see everything they have. There is so much inventory of each item. I wish I could have spent another hour browsing around. The store is huge.....it hasn't always been....growing up, it was a just a small store with tons of billboards all along the highway (that originally store is actually the board rental building now). The main store is a two story building that rivals a large department store. All kinds of gear in here, T shirts, hands, sandals, skate/surf gear, sunglasses, and on and on and on. There is almost always something cool to look at and honestly the prices are not out of line with other stores that sell the same brands/products that are here. They are poorly made and shatter for no reason unless it's the intense heat of Florida but again this shouldn't be happening and we don't recommended this item to anyone, anywhere for any reason. The store stays pretty busy even in the off season so it's best to stop in earlier in the day before it gets too crowded. The checkout lines can get really long. The downstairs has the home section, men's clothing, shoes, accessories including sunglasses, bags, sunscreen, etc. Upstairs is the women's clothing, kids section, hoody section, and surfboard/skimboard area. The restrooms are also located on the second floor. Of course don't forget to pick up your Ron Jon shirt and added bonus...they give you free stickers with purchase! I came in with my niece who is plus size. She was excited to go and buy herself something with the money she had saved for vacation. This is a typical overpriced souvenir store. The staff that I dealt with were not overly polite or friendly. They were walking around the outside of the store in groups smoking and complaining. Inside the store they just walked by you without even a smile. The most disappointing thing in the store was their lack of clothing sizes, at least for women. I saw the embarrassment and heartbreak on my niece's face as she was looking at all of the size small and medium clothes. There were few large and fewer XL. Those that they did have ran at least a size smaller. They did have a rack for "curvy women". And boy was that rack a joke. Ugly clothes that did not say "Ron Jon". They were plain and boring. It's 2021 Ron Jon. Step up and have more clothing options for women who aren't as flat as your surf boards. read more

Ron Jon's surf shop is an Iconic destination on Coco Beach. It is pretty much the destination other than the beach itself. The store is large, well stocked and full of treasures if you're a surfer or swimmer. There's all types of memoribelia on the walls from the pros. There is a fish tank in the middle of the store that surrounds the base of the elevator that takes you to the 2nd story. By far it's a place to visit. read more

I had a great experience at Ron Jon's in Cocoa Beach today thanks to Love, Jeff, and Chip! My experience with the associates started off when I was trying on clothes and I didn't grab the right size. Love overheard me talking to mom about it and politely offered to grab me the right one. Love went downstairs where the shirt was and grabbed me the right one. She brought it back up to me and it fit perfectly. I really appreciate that she went out of her way to help me out and the fact that she didn't make me feel like it was a bother! Afterwards I went downstairs to purchase my items and Jeff, the cashier, helped ring up all my items and even folded my clothes. Being that I had many items, it took a few minutes to complete my transaction but Jeff was very kind and conversed with my mom and I the whole time. He was very funny but also polite and professional! When I asked him for a manager to leave a compliment he was quick to do so! Chip the manager didn't keep me waiting at all and was quick to attend to me. I gave a compliment for both Love and Jeff and he thanked me saying the store doesn't get very many compliments. Working in customer service, I understand guests are quicker to complain than to give a compliment so I am happy to give praise when it's due! One of the best souvenir places in Florida. It is definitely worth stopping by on your trip to Cocoa Beach. They have thousands of T-shirts available. Dozens of styles with different logos and a lot of different colors. It is a big place with two floors of stuff to look at. They have all sorts of beach wear from dozens of famous brands. We saw a good selection of sunglasses and cases for your glasses. We enjoyed looking at all the silly hats they had available too. Wow, I'm impressed, we'd passed by here the other day, but didn't stop. Today we decided to drive back out to Cocoa Beach Shop and give it a look. For a boy born and raised on SoCal beaches I felt at home. This is not the souvenir t-shirt shop of Disney Springs. It's a complete 1-stop surf shop with reasonable prices. In addition to RonJon tees(with some pretty cool designs), there is Billabong, Vans, Volcom, Costa, Spy, Reef, Oakley, Yeti and the list goes on. Tees, board shorts, sweatshirts, accessories, and yes trinkets galore on 2 floors pretty much stocked from floor to ceiling. This is probably going to be one of our new destinations when we look to get out of the mouse house for the day. This review is for their rental operation not the retail store. We stopped in early on a weekday to pick up some bikes for the day. They have very good prices for a beach cruiser rental compared to other nearby places, $10 for 8 hours. The two we picked up were in very good shape. We have rented similar on other vacations in other places and they can be real junkers, these were not. They came with a pouch on the front and a lock. Billy Ray helped us get set up - he couldn't have been nicer. We put on at least 15 miles during the 8 hours of exploring we did on these bikes. A great experience and a great price! read more

Covid times review. Ron Jon was requiring masks to enter before it was mandatory. Inside, people were keeping their masks up and all employees were masked. Dressing rooms are closed for sanitation reasons, but, if you buy clothing you can return it after trying it on in your hotel. I am lost with this. Would be more sanitary not to take the clothing to hotel rooms. Additionally, when you return items that don't fit to customer service, not only is it a hassle, but people were not social distancing. They have also limited the cashiers and have just a fraction. The floor is marked for social distancing to purchase items, but people were right on top each other and children were weaving in and out among people waiting. Normally, I love shopping here because it is huge and they have 'everything." I was concerned with the amount of people inside not observing social distancing. read more

It opened in 1963 and has grown over the years into a 52,000 square foot tourist attraction with over 1.5 million visitors a year. It's a two acre flagship store that before Covid was open 24 hours a day. You can spend hours shopping for beach apparel, surf boards of every kind and everything beach related. It's always busy and seems to be well staffed. Their prices are fair for a tourist store. Inventory is good and they have good sales on out of season items.
