I previously had a highly unsuccessful surgery at a major pain clinic (Stanford). That procedure was done with no sedation, was torture-like, and ultimately failed to reach the nerve. In addition, it left me with years of forehead numbness and extra pain. I was very fortunate to find Dr. Polsunas. He quickly identified the root cause (the responsible nerve), treated it with Botox, and solved the problem. For the first time in years, I can finally enjoy reading again! Anthem/Blue Cross deemed that my patient responsibility was only .63 cents, so the insurance company sent a payment to Allied in the amount of $3,793.67 in December 2024 and now Allied's patient services/billing department refuses to refund my credit card for this amount. Not only did Allied keep my money, but they are also pocketing money from Anthem, which has been deemed fraudulent by Anthem and they are now engaging in an investigation into Allied. Save yourself the emotional turmoil and run arounds, and just go elsewhere. Hard lesson learned on my part. EDIT: Anthem/Blue Cross' Grievances Department just mailed the attached letter on January 10, 2025 stating that I am due a refund of $3,793.67 and my financial responsibility is $.63 cents. The continued denial by Allied that "no monies" are owed to me is baffling. This company will indeed engage in fraudulent activity.

I decided to find someone closer to my home and canceled my appointment after the second time they rescheduled. It was a blessing in disguise. Not only was I able to get a sooner appointment closer to home, that wasn't rescheduled, but I also was given clear directions, thankfully. I was told to make sure I had someone drive me home, which was accurate as I wasn't able to drive for at least 2 days after the treatment and was told to stay off my feet for at least 2 days after the treatment. I don't like giving negative reviews but thought it might save someone else $1000.

The confirmation email I received listed only the appointment time, address, and parking information -- it contained no mention of any consultation fee. On the day of the visit I was charged $750. When I questioned the amount, I was told that was the correct fee based on our prior conversation. I left the experience feeling the consultation fee had not been clearly or accurately disclosed in advance. The office itself also raised concerns. There was no secretary or front-desk staff, and the space is shared with a beauty salon, chiropractic office, and other services. All communication was handled directly by the doctor. The lack of transparent pricing has left me with no choice but to file a claim in small claims court to resolve the matter.
