Where I think there is room for improvement is the front-office experience. The front desk came across as somewhat unprofessional and there wasn't much acknowledgment or greeting when patients arrived. Communication with the finance department was also frustrating, as I had difficulty getting calls returned. Overall, the medical care itself was wonderful and that's ultimately the most important part to me. I just wish the administrative experience matched the level of professionalism and warmth I received from the nurses, anesthesiologist, and my doctor.

I had a wonderful experience today at the Silicon Valley Surgery Center. I was scheduled for a…read moretransforaminal epidural steroid injection in the lumbar region of my spine. This injection is meant to help decrease inflammation that was causing pressure on my sciatic nerve. We were warmly greeted when we arrived. I checked in at the front desk. Luckily, the day before, they emailed me a link to fill out all my paperwork. That proved to be very helpful and made the check-in process very easy and fast. The facility is very modern and large. There were quite a few people in the waiting area waiting to be called back for their procedures. The waiting area is very nice with plenty of seating. There was a big flat-screen TV for all to watch while waiting. They have a self-serve coffee area. You can choose your flavor and variety of Keurig pods and easily make yourself a nice hot coffee. My husband took advantage of that. I was called back within 15 minutes of checking in. The nurse taking care of me did a great job explaining the procedure and the order of events that were going to take place. She did an amazing job inserting my IV and kept me warm with heated blankets and a heating machine that blows warm air under the blankets. Since it was freezing in there, the warming machine felt so nice. I got to meet everyone in the surgical suite and was able to ask my Dr. questions before anesthesia was given to me. The surgeon, nurses, and technicians were all so nice and made me feel comfortable. Before I knew it, I was in recovery. The procedure was successful. They offered me juice of my choice while I was in the post-op area. The nurse removed my IV and helped me get dressed, while my husband moved the car to the patient pick-up area. This was one of the best outpatient experiences I have ever had. Everyone was so professional and friendly. They were very thorough with going over all my allergies. I'm allergic to a lot of medications, so that part is extremely important to get right. They took excellent care of me. If I need to have an out patient procedure, in the future, I would definitely choose to have it done here. I highly recommend coming here for an outpatient procedure.

This is my third time having a kid undergo surgery with Dr. Park as the anesthesiologist for the…read moreprocedure, done through Silicon Valley Surgical Center. Each time, he has drawn a design on the mask used in the procedure as a souvenir for us to take home. I find him to be very caring, responsive, professional, and he has been phenomenal as a pediatric anesthesiologist. I hope to have him again if my kids require further surgeries. The kids handled the anesthesia very well and Dr. park worked on them back to back. There were minimal effects of the anesthesia and by 3pm, they were golden and back to their normal. The procedure for the first was done by 8:30am and the second was before 9am.

Called and informed them 20 min late. 2. Front desk at El Camino Health Pediatrician at 555 Knowles turned us away. Explained my daughter had cough and wanted to check for asthma symptoms. Front desk lacked empathy and turned us away. We were late due to traffic but wow no options given. 3. Took my daughter to Good Sam ER. Physician Dr. Dapar MD (5 Stars). Nurse Practitioner K. Greene PA (5 Stars). The X-Ray tech from Santa Cruz (5 Stars). All had conversations with my daughter because as she told me "it was a scary experience for her." They made her feel comfortable. The mobile X-ray was efficient, the radiologist's diagnosis was swift. My daughter was also born at this hospital. What an epic experience. Major kudos to the team at Good Sam. The medical staff provided very good care, and the facility appeared clean, professional, and well maintained. My concern is limited to the billing and post-procedure communication process. After the procedure, I reviewed the Explanation of Benefits from my health insurer, and the amount billed to me appeared to be significantly higher than what I understood to be the insurer's indicated patient responsibility. Because billing matters can be complicated, I tried to contact the hospital to ask for clarification and to request a written review of the account. In my experience, however, the process was very difficult to navigate. The available communication appeared to rely mainly on phone calls during business hours, which was challenging for me because of my schedule. I left voicemail messages explaining the issue, and I also sent fax communications asking the hospital to review the account and respond. As of this review, I have not received a clear written response resolving the discrepancy. I later contacted my insurer to seek clarification as well. From my understanding, the balance may still be treated as unpaid or not fully resolved, although the matter remains under review. I am continuing to work with both the insurer and the hospital to understand the final amount, if any, that I actually owe. What has been frustrating is not the medical care, but the lack of a clear and accessible written communication process for a billing issue involving an insurance EOB. If the hospital disagrees with the insurer's EOB or believes additional patient responsibility applies, I would expect a clear written explanation so the patient can understand the basis for the charge and address it appropriately. Again, I appreciated the clinical care I received. However, the billing follow-up experience was stressful, time-consuming, and difficult to resolve. Prospective patients may want to confirm in advance how this hospital handles insurance billing, EOB discrepancies, written billing disputes, and communication options other than phone calls. I would also encourage prospective patients to read a range of reviews, including lower-rated reviews, before deciding where to receive care.

I recently had an ear surgery and as surgeries go, it went so much better than anticipated. Dr. Greg called me the night before to check in. He then came and SAT at my bedside. We actually had a chat. He told me my email, which he had memorized, let me know he would follow up the following day, and he asked if I go by "Michelle". I told him I was nervous and he told me the hardest part about today was the car ride over...well that was a piece of cake because my sister drove me. When he left, I felt I was in really good hands. As I went to sit on the table for surgery, he was talking to me, while injecting me with 2 viles into my tube. I played down, the nurse told me to smooch up and honest to goodness it was the last thing I remember. Dr. Greg did not give me a chance to let my anxiety set in. He was on what I needed. When I woke up, I am told, I was asking for a margarita and if I was still in Mexico (I had just returned from vacation)...When I saw my sister sitting next to me, I love her, but the "dream" was over - she wasn't in Mexico with me. Dr. Greg checked in on my during recovery...I don't remember much there, but he did follow up with me via email and I told him the same as above. For someone who has much anxiety going under, it has a darn good ending. Listening to your patient only matters if you follow up with what THEY need. I was very disappointed with my experience at this dental office. The problem is that the statements were being mailed to an old address, despite the office having me verify and update my information at every visit. My son's last appointment was only about a year ago, yet this issue was never brought to my attention then. What was even more frustrating was being told that even if I paid the balance in full immediately, they still would not accept my child as a patient. Their justification was that they had called me one time regarding the balance. Refusing care over a billing issue that resulted from incorrect contact information and poor communication seems unreasonable. This wasn't the first time I experienced issues with their office management. On one occasion, my son had already checked in and was sitting in the dental chair being seen when I received a phone call stating that he had missed his appointment and never showed up. Receiving a no-show call while my child was actively in the office was concerning and reflected a lack of organization and communication. Overall, I found the situation poorly handled and disappointing. I would expect a healthcare office to maintain accurate records, communicate effectively with patients, and make a reasonable effort to resolve issues before refusing care.

When asked, I was told by the doctor that it was okay for me to drive over an hour - right after the PRP treatment. I decided to find someone closer to my home and canceled my appointment after the second time they rescheduled. It was a blessing in disguise. Not only was I able to get a sooner appointment closer to home, that wasn't rescheduled, but I also was given clear directions, thankfully. I was told to make sure I had someone drive me home, which was accurate as I wasn't able to drive for at least 2 days after the treatment and was told to stay off my feet for at least 2 days after the treatment. I don't like giving negative reviews but thought it might save someone else $1000.
