For the past several years, I was considering getting facial rejuvenation surgery, but was hesitant because I knew others who did not get a good result from a similar procedure. After learning about Dr. DeMars, I decided to travel to Portland (from Hawaii) because he came so highly recommended. At my initial consultation, Dr. DeMars thoroughly explained my options and discussed the elements of the surgery. He took the time to answer my many questions and never made me feel rushed. His staff provided me with written information and what to expect before, during and after the surgery. I was also shown an informative video. I never felt pressured to make my decision and left the office feeling well informed and confident in Dr. DeMars and his team. Whenever I called to ask follow-up questions, I was greeted warmly and my questions were quickly answered. Four months later, I traveled back to Portland to have the surgery. Every step of the way, I was made to feel comfortable, valued and cared for. The facility is lovely and contributed to my level of comfort. The nurses were wonderful and made sure I had everything I needed. The anesthesiologist spent a long time with me going over what would happen during the surgery, answering my questions, and making sure I was comfortable with the process. Dr. DeMars came in and again discussed what he would be doing. Before I knew it, I was out of surgery and in recovery. The nurses were very attentive, and I was surprised at how good I felt. I was also amazed that after only a week post-surgery, I was able to go out in public! There was minimal pain and discomfort, and my recovery was a breeze. The results are fantastic, and I look 15 years younger....but completely natural. My friends comment on how refreshed and relaxed I look, but aren't aware I had anything done. Don't go to this office All what they care about is money. I scheduled a consultation and I was 10 minutes late Lisa called me and left me a very rude voice massages telling me that I should of canceled my appointment and made room for other patients to be seen. She made me feel like I'm just a dollar sign not a patient. I ended up canceling my appointment and went somewhere else because before I even stepped a foot in this office I started dealing with a bad attitude and very unprofessional treatment. I met with two other groups before meeting with DeMars, and was discouraged along the way by companies and physicians who were eager to schedule me the same day or within the week, run my credit and approve me, and/or want to take my money before I was ready or properly informed. DeMars and his team were not of that nature. Setting up the appointment, and meeting with the team was easy. A simple phone call was all it took. The front desk staff were great, the nurses were kind, and the doctor was seen swiftly. I paid the consultation fee (one of the things, I found, that made a difference. A clinic with a "free consultation" is going to charge higher on the surgery itself, so beware of that). DeMars was knowledgable about his craft, and debriefed me on his background. He also was clear to indicate what the results would be, and with my age (25), he told me that it would be wise to think long and hard if this was something I really wanted with my budget. The surgery was great, and the team that did it was incredible. I had a lipectomy of the breasts, the abdomen, and the flank (hip/love handle area). DeMars was kind and worked with me prior to surgery so we were clear on what would be done and how. His anesthesiologist was funny and kind as he prepped me before surgery. The next thing you knew, I woke up. I'm still healing. The team checked in with me. They made sure I was doing well, that I did what I needed to along the way. I'm overall very pleased with how this clinic did their work, and the price tag associated. Like I mentioned, paying for doctor's time is worth it, because they'll be candid with you just like DeMars was. I'd do it the same way, any day. So give Dr. DeMars a shot. I initially contacted Dr. DeMars back in May 2015 for a breast reduction and spoke with Tish in financial about insurance, costs, and time frame. From there I was able to get insurance approval and scheduled my reduction for November 2015. The pre-op appointment went smoothly, Dr. DeMars explained the benefits and possible drawbacks to having a breast reduction. He explained the process and recovery fully and I was completely comfortable with him and confident that I would be receiving the best care. He answered any and all questions I had and assured me that the surgery would go smoothly. The day of my reduction I went in and met with the Anesthesiologist who walked me through his role and (painlessly) put my IV in my hand. From there I was marked up by Dr. DeMars and taken into the operating room. Next thing I knew I was waking up in recovery. I wasn't feeling much pain at all and was released after Dr. DeMars confirmed my vitals were stable and I was ready (about 2 hours). Recovery wasn't easy but it was certainly less painful than I thought it would be. Now I am 2 1/2 months out of my surgery and feel fantastic. My once size H breasts are now a small D and my scars are healing well. My breasts are proportional, and even and look completely natural. Best of all I feel great and look better. Dr. DeMars and his staff have been professional, courteous, helpful, and available to answer any questions I had. I have no doubt I went to to the right surgeon for the job and would highly recommend Dr. DeMars to anyone who is thinking of a reduction or cosmetic surgery. read more

I had heard lots of great things about Dr Demars from multiple friends so I decided I would take the plunge and set up a consultation. All of the staff is very kind and accommodating and Dr Demars is very thorough and I felt very comfortable with him. He explained everything in detail and he was there to answer any and every question. I scheduled my surgery for 6 weeks after my consult. I had a full tummy tuck, breast lift and augmentation. I'm a little sad writing this. I met Dr. Demars in 2012 and I'm so glad I did! He is the kindest, most caring, understanding and honest doctor I've ever met and had the pleasure of working with (out of all the doctors, dentists, chiropractors, everyone!). He really takes his time in listening to your wants and needs but is also a realist because he never wants to push his patients health or affect them in a negative way. Lisa was so helpful and really took care of me the first time, When I found out she's no longer there I was sad. She was a great addition to the team, but I get it, family comes first. Then there's Tish! I was so nervous when I first went in and she put me at ease, she is a wonderful woman who makes you feel like a part of the family. I can't forget about Tammy! She is beyond amazing and such an asset! She works her butt off and makes sure that patients understand the process as well as billing. Honestly, I have never met a staff/team as wonderful as Dr. Demars and Dr. Boley! When was the last time you ever got excited to see the staff at your doctor's office? I get so excited every time I got to see them or talk to them on the phone....Then I ended up moving to a different state. I could've gone to see the "top" doctors in my area, but I hands down have to say that you will never find a doctor like Dr. Demars, and his work is better than the top doctors in Southern California (who you've seen on tv). I recently came back before Dr. Demars retired (he will be so missed!), and I'm ever so grateful and thankful that they got me in on such short notice. Years have gone by but their customer service is still top notch! I had the pleasure this time working with Manu, she is so sweet and so welcoming! I'm so glad I got to meet you! Also the new anesthesiologist is a wonderful addition as well, he added to my experience. I can't say enough great things about this office or about Dr. Demars. I interviewed 4 Portland doctors prior to making my decision for breast augmentation. With each doctor I showed photos of what I like and what I didn't like and he was the only Doctor who pointed out I could not have breast shape the way I wanted because my rib bones don't support it. (I have what he called pigeon chest and so my boobs can't sit close together.) I was very happy with the results and will consult with him again if I need anything. When I had trouble financing? What an unscrupulous strike of this office towards me to state such nonsense and irrelevance to my review about this staff's unprofessional ways... Yes, it's overwhelming to think I was about to spend over 18k on plastic surgery! I simply wanted what was best and what was truly going to make me happy. For the record, I had already made my 1st payment to Care Credit by the time I had my surgery, goes to show I had already been charged A MONTH in advance way before my surgery and not the 2 weeks prior to surgery like this office claims. I'm also very reserved and not the type to make a big fuss or scene about how the personnel at this office made me feel, thinking I'm never going to see them again anyways. I'm sure they're quite aware of how they treat each individual they work with therfore I had no need to say anything about their unprofessional demeanor. I also asked to please extend my light duty due to a few very large and very painful abnormal knots that have formed under my incision scar from the tummy tuck procedure! Which by the way the Dr. had no knowledge of what they were unless he operated and remove them. I wasn't even given an idea of what they could possibly be, I had to do some research on my own to figure out more answers to my questions. I always felt so rushed out of this office and my questions always unanswered. Overall, what a upsetting experience. read more

I have many good things to say about my surgery/visit (and one bad thing) but first I will say the good things! I had a Breast Augmentation done by Dr.DeMars and it turned out fantastic! My new breasts are fuller, look as "real" as I requested and the healing process was not nearly as bad as I imagined or was told by some of my friends. His RN who attended to me was INCREDIBLE. I am glad to have been under her care because she was top notch. Attentive, patient, everything you could ask for! Dr.DeMars was professional, took heed of my suggestions and listened. He was great too! I am very pleased with my over all experience. My only problem was the Anesthesiologist. I have tattoos and just because I have body art doesn't make me any less uncomfortable with large needles. It makes me queasy but he didn't seem to understand. He commented: "With all those tattoos you shouldn't be afraid of needles. Doesn't make sense if you ask me" Not even joking or friendly, he was condescending and rude. I gave an example of feeling similar to when I have had my blood drawn which he interrupted me by saying: "I am not drawing your blood, I am giving you anesthetic, this will put you under for surgery, there's a difference" Total attitude problem! Maybe you should keep your unprofessional opinions to yourself next time you jerk. I was feeling sick to my stomach, anxious about surgery and was pretty angry to have had someone talk to me like I was an idiot. Especially when I knew he was getting a nice chunk of those surgery fees I paid! All in all, the surgery was a success, I am healthy and I love the results. read more

Dr DeMars did my breast augmentation back in 2002. He did a fabulous job. They look so natural and still do. No one can tell I have had implants. After 10 years my breast still looks fantastic. He and his staff were very educated about this procedure, as well as other cosmetic surgeries. They are a very caring clinic. I attempted to receive a refund on my deposit for a procedure that was not to occur over a month out due to a layoff. The office was unwilling to consider my request and did not offer any alternatives. There is no doubt Dr. Demars would have been able to fill the appointment due to his pending retirement. It makes me think the office cares more for their bottom line and not the well being of the people they serve. Tammi, in their office, is extremely rude and uncaring. Everyone I was in contact with was so pleasant and helpful, it was the first time I did NOT get sick after anesthesia, the anesthesiologists were great! I would NOT recommend Dr. DeMars! Very dissatisfied with my breast augmentation after spending nearly $11,000 he wanted to charge me another $2,675 to correct the very mismatched results 3 months post surgery. Not only was the shape so different, one sat an inch and a half lower then the other and my areola's were different sizes which is where the incisions were made. I am now going to pay another surgeon to fix his mistakes! VERY FRUSTRATING and EXPENSIVE EXPERIENCE!! read more

Had a Quicklift done by Dr. Demars. I have to say I am astonished at the results. It was all I had hoped for and worth every penny. Dr. DeMars is a very personable sweet and kindly man, and I felt totally comfortable under his care. He was very meticulous, very careful, the stitches almost invisible and microscopic. 2 weeks later I'm back at the gym (being careful!) with almost no brusing left. Nobody can tell I had a facelift. I look totally myself, but AT LEAST 10 years younger. His staff, Tish, Lisa, and Chelsea were great too. Already figuring what I want to do next! read more

Dr. DeMars need to stay with breast work and away from any face work. He did a terrible job on my nose and lasered away permanently all of the pigment from under my eyes. On the under eye damage, I had weepy seeping eyes for months. I returned to Dr. DeMars office. He did not ever acknowledge a mistake. I asked him what could be done.......he just said nothing. He did not offer any discount or burn scar treatment treatment; nothing but a session with his make up person. That was many years ago. I essentially had bags lasered IN to my eyes by him. I have spent thousands of dollars treating these as burn scars, somewhat successfully although the pigment will never come back. I just received a lower bletheroplasty to pull the bag he created up. This helped! Dr. DeMars, however, never offered this option to me. As to the nose, I had it done once by him, but was left with very little change except more asymmetry; what looked like a permanent bruise on my bridge. I returned to him because I foolishly believed I should stay with the same doctor. He did a second job, but with no discount of course for the first bad one. The second job was even worse as he took the tip up again, even though that was not discussed, so you could now see into my nostrils; the nostrils ended up different sizes; and I looked terribly plastic, yet my nose was still too broad for my face, and still asymmetrical, but now in different places. Again, he took no responsibility. He and his anesthesiologist laughed when I said in follow up the nostrils were different sizes and said "well no one should be looking up your nose." They scoffed at my unhappiness, did not offer any solutions and said it would change over the next year or so, and not to worry until then. Later when it did not improve and I had a freakish plastic look still, he refused even a minimal refund. read more

I had my mommy make over in 2014. It's now June 2020. My surgery went well. What I didn't like was how he made my incision. one side is uneven and way thicker than the other which that tells me it was the first incision that he made. They are about almost 2 in a half inch. Yes I put scar creme in it everyday and scar tape but I have thick keloid that a creme will not work or do any justice. From my mommy makeover incision I developed thick keloid scars from under my breast and stomach. My belly button is horrible to look at till this day thinking after I have this mommy makeover I would be happier but no I'm not. Everyday I look in the mirror and regret going to Ronald DeMars. When I called and asked about my keloid scar the women answered and just said to put the creme on that I paid $100 dollars for a small tube. I put it on all my scars and it didn't even help. Dr DeMars also said if I didn't like my keloid scar that I could come back and get it fixed but when I went back he wouldn't even talk to me just ignored me and when I asked the nurse they made excuses. I only got to talk and see him one time since my surgery. I called and asked for him on the phone but only the nurse would answer or get back to me. I paid about $14,000 for this unsatisfied mommy makeover for a breast augmentation and tummy tuck that left me with scars that I can't even show my body. My belly button is also a little high from the tummy tuck. He showed he cared before the surgery and after the surgery he could careless. I got an email saying he no longer practice anymore and that he retired. I'm left with scars that will never go away. I didn't get lucky. I got bad results he didn't do a good job. read more
