Recently moved from Chicago and have had a tough time finding a barber I like in the UV. I know my hair is a bit tricky to cut because it's thick/curly and I have a couple of cowlicks. The other barber's I've tried in the area opted to bulldoze the problem with trimmers, leading to uneven and unsatisfactory results Connie's approach was to take the time to talk through what I was looking for, guided by her suggestions and experience. It was a helpful and collaborative process. It led to my best cut yet, and I know the results will only improve as time goes on. Her reference cards for each customer let you know she takes the time to adjust as needed for each individual. Plus, Connie also has an awesome shop dog! I got a great haircut and a lot of good advice on how to style and take care of my hair. The place is a little hard to find if you haven't seen it before as it's in a lot with a bunch of other small businesses, but really it's just right there off the road when you turn. Inside is clean and bright, comfortable to wait in. You can tell the stylist really cares about her client's needs and also about making them look good: I like this balance. read more

I came across Ronin Salon when I was staying in the White River Junction area a few years ago and have been a loyal customer ever since. The service and cuts are pretty amazing, so I continue to go back there even though its a 160 mile round trip for me from southern NH. The salon is large and bright with a great atmosphere, no old ladies or crying kids. Better still, If you make an appointment the owner will cater "only to you" and give you the hair cut you actually ask for. She will offer advice / suggestions if you need them and is a total sweetheart. Ultimately, you will get the cut "you" want. I wouldn't trust anyone else to hide my grey hairs and give such an awesome cut. I love finding small business that have this level of customer service and quality to back it up. Disappointing, went Mon @ .4:10 hoping I did not need an appt. Nobody home! Sound on, "Hello, is anyone here?" Walked to the window store next door, but did not see any indication of idle chatter. At 14:15 Connie cams in, saying she just took out the trash. She washed her hands before my cut. A short time into it, another customer came in. The result of my 14 minute haircut was my wife's evaluation of a choppy haircut. I guess she could not wait to get to the next guy. Nice lady, but can I go lower than 1? This hairy head won't be back. And I am sad to do a neg review, but I have to be honest. read more
