Paul Kang and his staff are wonderful. Careful, thorough, reassuring, very accessible. My wife and I are total fans.

The office did an initial quick 3D computer imaging and gave a quick estimate of the treatment: $5000 to $6700, a wide range. The doctor/office then assured us that the actual cost was going to be closer to $5000 due to the short treatment in our case. However, in order to get an "accurate" estimate, we must allow a technician to take "records", which means an expensive x-ray. This x-ray fee would be written off if we decide to go ahead with the treatment. Because the doctor/office had already assured us that the cost most likely would be $5000, we went ahead with the full-mouth x-ray. After a few days, the office manager emailed back the treatment plan. It turned out to be $6500. She also claimed that the cost was never based on the length of the service as promised. Obviously, we would lose the x-ray fee if we do not proceed with their treatment. This practice was trying to make profit by taking many "records" that do not require much of doctor's time. They bait potential patients with a false initial estimate in order to switch to an "accurate" estimate that costs a lot. If you decide to have treatment with them due to proximity, just know that it will be at the high-end of the initial estimate. Their words are not consistent and do not take responsibility in conveying them. Again, be wary of committing your child's orthodontics work to an extremely profit-oriented practice.

Dr. Putt has been spending too much time on the golf course (at least that is the explanation by the technicians to why I have not seen him the last 5 years). The front desk now is incredibly rude and condescending. If you don't have the right insurance, get out, if you have a question, we don't have time for this. The last hygenist I saw was yelling at me the entire time, and telling me all about how much her life sucks. The hygenist I saw for many years who was amazing left the practice unfortunately. And when I first joined they were willing to work with me on a dental plan that works for me. Now it is aggressive treatment and pressure sells that requires X-rays every 6 months and deep cleanings. If you don't like it, I was told by the front desk to GET OUT. Ok you got your wish, good riddance.

I just took a new job and have to move out of state. I was overdue for an appointment and worked with the team to squeeze in before my move. They have a new receptionist team that is incapable of running this business. They rescheduled and kept playing musical chairs with their clients appointments trying to move them around. I just went in for my appointment finally, a few days before my move- for them to tell me they do not take BCBS anymore and would charge me $450 for the appointment. When asked why I wasn't notified of this , they claim they had Delta Dental on file for me. (Later when I called back- I told them my appointment in December with BCBS and they confirmed that is who they billed out.) For months I've received emails from them telling me I was due for an appointment and to call and schedule. NOTHING about no longer accepting BCBS. I left the office so upset and called back to speak with the supervisor, Crystal. She was just as incompetent as her team. She said "if it was that big of a deal, they would have billed out to BCBS and had me mail them the check..." when I clarified that she meant bill, she corrected and said check. She wanted me to pay my insurance for seeing them out of network, and then wanted me to pay THEM whatever portion of my appointment that insurance would cover... wow they truly care about the customer... I requested a call back from Dr. Putt and plan on telling him what a disaster his team has become. When it was him and his one front desk receptionist, they might have been short handed- but they were good and actually cared and had their sh*t more together than they do now. Now I have wasted time making appointments, going to an appointment I had to leave, talking to them, crying in my car, and writing this post- all to be moving out of state with a new job, stressed as can be, and overdue for a dental appointment (after getting completely screwed over by the practice my family and I have given business to for over a decade.) I am beyond upset, and cannot advise others more to find a different dentist- this is NOT the same practice that it used to be.

We made appointments with their office and informed the office my kids' birthday information. After waiting for 3 weeks, the office lady Christina informed us the same day of our appointment that the dentist is not present at the office, and the doctor whom we scheduled the appointment with is an orthodontist who does not see patients under 7 years old...They knew we do not have any kids above 7 years old on the first day we made the appointment. They let us wait for more than 3 weeks just to tell us that the appointment had to be cancelled, despite that we have repeatedly stated over the phone the need for our children to do a routine dental check. Christina lied about leaving voice messages and calling us a week before our appointment, which were totally untrue after we checked and searched our call/voicemail history. Christina demanded the cancellation of the appointment (or re-schedule us for another 3 weeks) while I still nicely described our kids dental care needs. She didn't listen, and she commented "I think you don't fit for our office. You need to go elsewhere." at me over the phone. Absolutely no apology for creating this inconvenience while she could have cancelled or reschedule the appointment weeks before, or at least inform us that the appointment was impossible right away when it was scheduled. The patient care service attitude made us completely lose the confidence in this dental office. We understand sometimes human mistakes or miscommunication do happens, but her offensive words "not fit for the office" and "go elsewhere" are totally not appropriate.

She had terrible interaction skills with my 4 year old who is new to a dental office (2nd/3rd time). My child had a cavity identified during the initial visit that needed to be addressed. We came back over for the follow up where initially with the [perfectly lovely and child-centered] hygienist, we were told that my child could sit on my lap to make the experience more comfortable for her. The dentist proceeded to come in, and told us it wasn't going to work like that and that she would have to sit on her own to get the procedure done. I don't know if anyone else has ever dealt with 4 year olds, but when one set of expectations is set and then pulled off the table, it typically doesn't go well. As I was comforting her, I can hear Dr. Himelhoch in the background tell my child "Well, you don't really have an option" AS MY CHILD IS CRYING. Then, she proceeded to ask if I needed assistance in restraining my child to get her in the seat. Finally, when my child is inconsolable, she suggested getting the infant lap seat. If that was an option, why wasn't that the initial suggestion instead of waiting for the inconsolable child to get to that level. When I finally told them I did not want to go forward to it today as it was out of control at that point, she then proceeded to address my child with a "I'm very disappointed in you for making this so difficult for you mom." I highly recommend Dr Chau…read more I chose Dr. Chau on a recommendation of a friend. I switched from/stopped going to a previous dentist because it was too far away and used up too much of a day just for a routine appointment. Over the past year, I've had three major dental incidents, resolved amazingly effectively by Dr. Chau. The first two incidents involved lots of pain. In both cases, Dr Chau made time to see me quickly. Also in both cases, she resolved the problem quickly, permanently and relatively painlessly. The third incident mercifully did not involve pain. It involved restoring one of my front teeth -- it now looks better than new. Dr. Chau is a magician. She has invested significantly in technology for the benefit of patients. For instance, cleaning involves an ultrasound system that is more effective and more pleasant than the old scritch, scritch, scritch method. She also uses digital x-rays that expose the patient to much less radiation and produce images immediately, saving the patient time waiting in the chair while film is developed. The tooth restoration involved curing the bonding material with ultraviolet light. Near the ceiling, Dr. Chau has installed flat-screen monitors that she sometimes uses to show images to discuss issues and treatment options with patients. I've found that being involved in this process in this way has built my trust and confidence in Dr. Chau. When the monitors are not showing x-rays of teeth, etc., they display gently cycling images of orchids to create a calm and relaxing mood. Dr. Chau also employs some low tech, yet thoughtful, measures, such as large dark glasses so you don't end up staring into bright lights. Dr. Chau's staff is invariably friendly and very professional. They often go beyond their normal duties. For instance, at the last cleaning, the hygienist discussed my brushing technique, and suggested a brushing technique that would be more effective. I look forward to being Dr. Chau's patient for years to come. If you are looking for a dentist, please check her out.
