Use caution and get everything in writing. I made a appointment last week. Showed up as agreed. I explained my problem and concerns. Told Patrick the owner I was on a strict time line and said I would be back a 4 to get my truck. I left my name and number along with where I work. I showed up at 4 to find my truck not only not done and ready to go but the problems that I came in for not addressed or fixed. When I left the truck I stated I had four areas of issue and priorities to fix. Instead of fixing the problems ie non functional Trailer plugs he installed a new controller stating cause my was older it didn't work. I asked if he fixed the cut wire under the frame. No was the reply. Then how do we know the controller is/was bad? Second he cut a new hole inside the bed and installed a new plug that wasn't needed or asked for and is not even wired up. Just left wires hanging under bed with zip ties. At this point I was left with no option but to except a non working Trailer pug issue And take the truck due to prior commitments and a 57 mile drive home. I was very clear and explained my needs when I left the truck. I left disappointed and feeling ripped off. Who is going to fix the hole for the unneeded plug in my bed? My wiring isn't fixed. My trailer brakes don't work. I feel like if I had just gone to ford to have a factory plug installed this might have ended better. Maybe not but I would feel like I had more recourse than just writing a review. Choose wisely and be warned. All I got was a pat on the back and being told I have a huge truck and a small wallet. read more

After calling a few other places to get a hitch installed on my 2013 Ford Explorer, there was no question I would be taking it to Patrick to get the job done. Not only did he have the best price but he took the time to actually talk to me like a human being. Very personable and extremely talented. I'm sure they do good work, given the reviews, but I don't understand how people can get their vehicles serviced here with the crappy hours 8-5:30pm, and CLOSED weekends, when it also seems most people may have off to get such work done. This pattern seems endemic in the Eugene area; restrictive hours and closed weekends when more people can be out and about and get things done. Even sole proprietorships sometimes stay open Saturdays and take Monday's off. I suppose it must work for Ron well enough, but I can't see how or why it is so prevalent for shops like this one to have (not even) banker's hours with RVs, boats and other towing being so prevalent in this area. read more

I can't believe how great the price and service is at Ron's. After calling a different hitch and tow place here in Eugene, I called Ron's for a bid. The price? Less than HALF of the "other guys" ! They were going to charge me for twice the time, plus $60 in parts. Ron's bid INCLUDED parts. And he could do it in much less time, too. The amazing-ness doesn't stop there; keep reading: I had brought our [young adult] daughters along with me to go have lunch across the street while we waited for the install. Turns out where we'd planned on lunching doesn't allow minors (I had thought all eateries with liqour liscences allowed minors to dine on premises until 9 p.m.) So... Ron gave us a ride! Great experience, super nice family owned and run. Cutest family toy poodle ever, Ginger is a princess. If you go, which you should, make sure to bring her a treat, she's not picky. Had a hitch, had problems putting it on, needed to leave for NC so I dropped by and they did it within a half an hour and charged me less than quoted. I highly recommend this place! My wife and I have over 100,000 miles on the road in several Motorhome's since 2003. Most of those miles included a car which we always trailered. After several years off the road, we restarted our travels last year in a Newmar Dutch Star. This year we decided to park our car trailer and try flat towing a dingy so we could fit our rig into smaller RV sites. Our research led us to Patrick at Ron's Hitch and Tow. Found Patrick to be everything the reviews suggested from his helpful research and advice in selecting the tow car (we chose a new Jeep Cherokee) to the tow bar selection, and the aux braking system. His work was absolutely professional, his pricing very fair...we traveled over 400 miles to have the work done on the car and the coach (the Air Force One Brake system had to be installed on both motorhome and car). Can't say enough about the experience and we've done lots of RV stuff including 4 previous Tow Bar installs and know the difference. The part came late, which I could forgive but Ron gave me his word and a handshake that the price was $334. I assumed that meant all inclusive. The day of the installment he changed the price to $348, then he charged me $50 more for the hitch ball for a total of $398. Get a written, binding estimate before any installation from Ron. I found that U-Haul would have installed the hitch for $320. read more

Ron put a towing system on our 2015 Jeep and it was the first weekend we were able to use it. We had an issue with one of the turn signals. We went over to his shop and were courteous and prompt in assisting us with getting it working properly. Ron gave us a couple of hints since we have never towed anything before. He had to get us extensions for our safety cables and also needed a longer plug in. Ron fixed everything and wouldn't let me pay for anything else. We were on the road in about 30 minutes. I would highly recommend them. We have to have the plug in receptor on the RV replaced and we will definitely have them do that. read more

GREAT PRICE, GREAT SERVICE, GREAT PRODUCT. We researched truck bed covers and thought we knew what we wanted. After speaking with the folks at Ron's we made a different choice which cost us a lot less money. It looks and fits great and is perfect for our fifth wheel hitch also. Even though they told us no truck cover is guaranteed water tight, we have not had a drop of water in the bed during tough storms. We live over an hour away, so we coordinated the install for a day we needed to come to Eugene for another reason. The night before they called and said the part had not been delivered in time for our AM install, but that the truck would be delivering it later in the day, and offered to keep in touch with us so we could drop by at our convenience after it arrived. Once we arrived it was installed quickly. Afterward they took their time to make sure we were comfortable with how it worked. All the staff were very helpful and extremely friendly. We would certainly reccommend Ron's Hitch-N-Tow. read more
