Beyond disappointed. This it's not the picture nor the ambience on the Marriott website. This is an enclosed die far on the top of the marriott. There is no music and there's only one bartender with a crop top. All you can hear is the baseball game behind me. It is stuffy and the floorboards are falling in. There's only one access to the outside and that is a tiny when do you like the corner where people smoke. Great view but you can't really access it. Also came up with the dinner and was called it's technically for dinner but they're only doing appetizers and I have to go to find somewhere else for dinner. read more

Was charged $18 for a gin and tonic...environment weirdly felt like being on a cruise ship, and not in a good way. Menu didn't show prices. Bartender was on the phone the whole time which made for a frustrating ordering experience. My friend had a mojito that we later realized had rotten looking basil leaves in the drink. The white pumpkin was good, very creamy. Looks like they do serve food for every meal. Extensive drink list. Small rooftop area, but cute and with a nice breeze. Downside, would have liked a little less plexiglass on the railings because it obstructed the view of the city. I felt claustrophobic. Overly crowded and difficult to get a drink after the first one. I was surprised only one bartender was working the bar. With two drinks person for a total of two people, I was alarmed at the total of the bill. I was surprised to see 5 different taxes were added on top of the already high price cocktails, which the price point was higher than expected. I don't know how I've lived in Columbia for 9 years without knowing about this lovely roof top bar! I can't tell you why, but sipping cocktails on an outdoor terrace 17 floors up is unquestionably better than doing the same thing on an outdoor sidewalk. Lyseah was a gem and took care of my friends and me with a smile and even had great suggestions. I believe it was Kelsey who also came by to make sure everything was nice and to our liking. I thought that was a nice touch. The view is like a living painting as the sunset turns to dusk over Columbia. Give it a try and if you don't like it, the first drink is on....you. Yes, you'll still need to pay for that. But seriously, I hope you have as much as we did while trying something new after being cooped up inside for a year! read more

I've been to this rooftop about 3 or 4 times now. It's my go to place when I have a friend visiting from town in order to show the best and nicest parts of Columbia. It's located at the top of the Sheraton Hotel, the 17th floor, and it's open after 5 on most days to the general public. It's very small when you get up there and can be crowded sometimes. They have a few tables and a rectangular bar that you sit at. I consider the drinks to be very expensive for the area. I spent nearly $20 last time on a Bud Light and Martini. There have tall glass surrounding the edges of the rooftop for fall protection and these giant chairs that you can stand on in order to maximize your view. The view is best at sunset or at night as you can see most of the heart of Vista. Unfortunately, the view is only for one side of the building so you don't get a full view of the entire city. Also, there's not a whole a lot to do and the drinks are expensive so I usually only spent 30 minutes each time I'm here. The rooftop, while it is the best for Columbia, does not compare to the ones in Charleston and the right atmosphere just isn't there to keep me there longer. Overall, this place is good if you want to impress a date or friend that's visiting Columbia for the first time. Otherwise, it's not that big or unique of a rooftop bar. read more

This place was ok it was a nice place to over look the city and have a couple of drinks. The food was ok along with the drinks. I had the Thai drink which I didn't care for, I wouldn't have it again. I also had their Caramel Appletini, which tasted like cough medicine. I would stick with drinks that are well known like a White Russian they did well with those. read more

Absolutely the worst bar ever. I CALMLY exited the bar. The bouncer told me that I could not take my drink outside of the bar. I attempted to walk back inside of the bar to finish the drink I had payed for, but the bouncer's friend proceeded to rip the drink out of my hand and throw it in the trash. I was not belligerent nor affecting any customers in the bar. In my eyes, roof top has treated me unreasonably and wrongfully stolen from me and wrongly. Terrible bouncers. We ventured to the Latino festival on Main and took the opportunity to try out the Rooftop Lounge. The bar itself is nothing too extraordinary- your run of the mill watering hole, casual place with mix of all kind of people, young and old. Its not real big, looks like it could get kinda busy? We went around 4ish not too crowded at all :) The view is pretty awesome! You can see a large section of the city, north to south- from the Capstone House to the baseball stadium... The drink prices are average- we didn't eat here however other people were enjoying some food. I would do this again- I think it would be a cool place to hang out at night -in more ways than one, there was a nice little breeze up there :) read more

The ambience was nice. It was in the evening and it wasn't too crowded so plenty of space for seating. My issue was with the bartender, her name tag, said Brittany. My concern was with the service and the drink that was made firstly, I asked about two different drinks. She didn't know how to make one of them so I asked for the other when the drink was done being prepared and I tasted it. I expressed my concern about the taste difference and asked if it could be remade at this point, I sensed an attitude instead of correcting, and re preparing the drink for the guest satisfaction. I tried to enjoy the drink to the best of my ability, but at this point, I was just ready to go. I asked for my check she took a while to give it to me. I'll say about six minutes during this time. She was also preparing another drink for another customer and on her phone vigilantly this was my first and probably last time unfortunately, the view was awesom!! read more

Now you have to wait in like with hundreds of people to get to the roof? Every worker is so rude and so inconsiderate. OK, so full disclosure : I have been here three times, I have not once purchased a drink. In fact, all three times I have left within five minutes. I really, really want to give this place a try, but somehow things keep occurring to keep me from staying. Mayhap I need to take a hint, it just isn't in the cards. First, it was a saturday night and the place was bumping with a loud DJ set and the bar was packed full of 30-40ish age people. Dance clubs / music isn't really my thing and my group wasn't feeling it. Second time we went it was packed on a thursday night, and we couldn't get a seat. It looks like a really cool place to sit on a warm night and take in the skyline, but we weren't up for standing around up there. Third time, it was the hottest day on record in SC in 125 (125!) years, and so getting even CLOSER to the sun wasn't working. Even the employees were miserable, so we took in the sight with our father in law and left so that they could honestly say no one wanted to sit up there and close up shop. Poor bartenders. We will keep trying! I suggest you try the place, there really is a cool view, and I hear they do local music on various nights. read more
