The entire facility--from the locker rooms to the sauna, steam room, and showers--was spotless. Located in Westlake, the spa is located in the left wing of the hotel. Self parking is complimentary if you validate your parking ticket at the hotel. I booked the deep tissue massage for $280, and the spa appointment would allow guests to use all the amenities in the spa like sauna, steam room, pool, and day lounges. Snacks, tea, and water were available throughout the lounge. When I arrived, the host gave me a tour of the facility. All the lockers came with clean robe and slippers, and a diverse array of toiletries were available at all counters. I relaxed for 15 mins at the sauna before my massage. When the appointment came, my masseuse called for me and directed me to a quiet room with tranquil setting. She asked for the perfect pressure and soothing music was played at the background. My masseuse did a thorough job in the deep tissue massage and my shoulder was much more relaxed afterwards. After the massage, we went to the pool and enjoyed a nice lunch and dips into the whirlpool and pool. The service was excellent and sunblock was provided . Since it was Mother's Day, I decided to go ahead with it anyway, especially because first-time clients are advertised as receiving $20 off. When I arrived, I was told that paying extra for deep tissue only included TWO focus areas. That was honestly very strange to me. I expected the pressure level to apply to the overall massage, not just two spots. The massage therapist was kind, and the massage started off strong, but shortly after it became extremely light pressure for most of the session. The "deep tissue" portion only lasted maybe 20 minutes total between the two areas I selected, while the rest felt more like a very light relaxation massage. It just wasn't what I expected based on how it was advertised. To make matters worse, the session started late and ended early. My 50 or 60 minute massage ended up being closer to about 42 minutes total. Then when I went to check out, I was initially charged the full $155 price despite the advertised first-time client discount. I had to remind the front desk myself about the promotion before it was applied. Overall, the space itself is beautiful and relaxing, but the actual experience felt disappointing for the price. Sometimes it's not a good fit. Maybe the room is wrong or you're just not vibing with this particular massage therapist. So say something. Stop the massage and ask for another therapist or the one you want. This is your time that you have paid for. Don't lie there for an hour getting angry then leave a one star review. Don't be a victim. Get what you came there for. It's up to you to leave relaxed and fulfilled. Every massage therapist there is excellent or they wouldn't be there.
