My first thought when I walked in was " this is cool & romantic". This place is hidden and above Jacoby's bar. The bartender asked if we had a reservation, we did not and were still able to sit at a table. The menus, environment, and decoration give a blast from the past vibe. I ordered the owners choice spirit free drink with alcohol added (Belvedere) and it was delicious. The Yamazaki 12 year whiskey was amazing as well. from the small plates menu we ordered the bootleggers shrimp and the Albert & Mina tips, and they BOTH were amazing! I will definitely return to Room 1904 for all of the above and to try new things.

I love this intimate space! Fun decor and moody lighting. Extensive liquor menu. Great for dates or catch ups with friends. Excellent cocktails and mocktails. Talented and kind mixologists. Located upstairs in Jacoby's, I like to grab drinks here and then head downstairs for dinner.

    Room Service, please!

Shhhh....it's a secret! Behind the door, up the stairs...time travel to Detroit's past, one of the oldest bars in the city. Room 1904 is a vibe! Dimly lit, romantic ambience, crafted cocktails and small plates....Room 1904 is calling you!

AMAZING EXPERIENCE!!!!!!! Angie was our bartender. She made this experience top notch. One of the best bartenders/mixologist I've have yet to experience. From her mixologist skills to her great personality. Being from Las Vegas it's hard to find a place that is up to par with that service industry. Atmosphere was perfect. Highly recommend!!!!!!

Though the bar tenders were friendly and attentive, and the place has some nice ambiance, the drinks are ridiculously overpriced...in some cases double what other places charge. Simply not worth it, unless you've got money to burn. Far better places downtown.

We were definitely a little uncertain walking down a dumpster-filled alley, but once we stepped inside we were pleasantly surprised at how elegant, well-designed, and beautiful the interior was. We went around 6PM on a Thursday before a Red Wings game, and while there were 2-3 people seated at the bar, we were the only ones seated at a table. Service was attentive and quick. They served us a complimentary warm dark rum honey tea to start, and honestly I should have ordered a whole cup! It was delicious and unique, and I hope I can find something like it again. I would order it in a heartbeat. The drinks themselves were a little on the pricey end and since I wasn't in the mood for drinking a lot, I didn't end up ordering anything, but my boyfriend got The Hammer. Unfortunately he didn't realize it would be smoked and doesn't love the flavor of butane, but the presentation of the drink and the smoked spiced cashews that came with them were excellent! If it weren't for the butane flavor (which he believes not many others taste), my boyfriend would have really enjoyed his drink. I think it's definitely worth a visit for the ambiance and welcome drink alone, but be prepared to spend a little!
